January 3Jan 3 Author More food! So the main activities available to guests in Wonder World so far are eating and pooping. The candy counter is stocked with my lame attempt at candy bars, along with some chocolate-covered apples and a plate of fresh-baked cookies. Here's an alternate version with a different font for the "Concessions" sign. I can't decide which I like better. "Oh Blanche? Ya know we've got rats in the cellar." -- Jane Hudson (What Ever Happened to Baby Jane)
January 3Jan 3 The candy bars look perfect...just the sort of generic, non-brand specific candy imported from some third world country with low tariffs Mr Wonder appreciates. No doubt the same country where he used to get 'mystery meat of the month' shipments until adding a zoo took care of that need.Personally I like the thicker, bolder font myself just a little more, but both are nice. The entire concession area looks great. The purple accent color really pops and ties in with the carpet really well.Luckily 'pooping' is self-service and doesn't require as many employees. Hopefully Wonder didn't purchase personal hygiene products from that same third world source, 80 grit TP might be cheap, but unpleasant..
January 3Jan 3 Concessions, my kind of place! I like the high ceiling with the pendant lights. And the color scheme as well. Hard to choose between the two fonts but, like Wagi, I like the bulkier one best. It looks soft, puffy, and tasty. Also warm and inviting.

January 3Jan 3 Well, I'll be the voice of dissent then.I think the soft, puffy and tasty letters kind of overpower the sign. If you could make them a bit smaller, they would work better. The thin and crispy letters just look a little more professional, and don't overwhelm the space.Did you make the popcorn machine, or is it an asset in-game?

January 4Jan 4 Definitely hopping on team "Big Letters" here. While I tend to use the thinner letters more often in my own gameplay, I think the big, bold letters really sell this area better. And as Wagi said, the shadow on the lettering is what's selling me; the purple really works well to give some subtle contrast.- StickyGum32 I write sounds: www.composerclay.com

January 7Jan 7 Author So I've spent the last week making hallways, staircases, elevators, and backstage areas. 😑A big thanks to Scooter, for posing for all these shots. The puffy letters are back, scaled a little smaller....and new popcorn buckets! January 8Jan 8 Late to the discussion but with apologies to CT, I am also on team puffy letters. The color palette with the purple counter is kind of a departure from the more standard palette throughout Expo3000 so kind of makes sense to mix up the sign font as well.As the others said, those candybars are perfect. I'm sure with the scaling mod you could put names on them but even if you were good with those kind of mods I think the game gets wonky(er) when too many text signs get used too close together.Love that you are still taking the time for backstage areas and these are extremely pristine. Peeps might never see them but people subscribing to the park do enjoy exploring and finding stuff like that (and by people I mean me). What is that curved wall that Scooter is posing in front of in the last backstage shot? It's a clever detail whatever it is.
January 8Jan 8 Whatever you do, don't let Scooter into the Control Room. I see you decided to 'split the baby' on the Concessions sign; good choice! I too, am wondering what that curved wall is; movie screen on the other side?
January 9Jan 9 Author These tall flats make up the giant curved screen behind the main stage. I've added more clutter backstage, along with sand bags to help stabilize the flats. This is probably not how modern stage construction is done today, especially on a scale this size. But I based this on the experience from my work in the theater back when I was a youth, when I built and designed scenery for the local community college and later at a small dinner theater. The theater's loading dock.Scooter should probably not venture up those steps.Which is why Mr. Perkins has been hired as the head lighting technician. He's actually the son of good old Mr. Perkins, who is now semi-retired but still works part time over at Lafitte Landing and occasionally at Wonder Beach Boardwalk. January 9Jan 9 Author The steep ramp down to the stage floor really bugged me, so I've changed it so there is only a slight elevation change.Which meant adding a slope outside leading down to the door. "Oh Blanche? Ya know we've got rats in the cellar." -- Jane Hudson (What Ever Happened to Baby Jane)
January 10Jan 10 I'd worry about the ramp leading down to the door. But it should be OK... unless Scooter is driving the Bobcat/lift thingy.
January 11Jan 11 Author The LASERIUM is approaching completion. The front building will be a shop and is still a wip. The LASERIUM theater will feature laser shows throughout the day and special live entertainment on select evenings. There are 1267 seats in the auditorium, including handicapped seating. The PC1 version had 684 seats. (and this was originally intended to be smaller 🙃)The RCT3 version featured performances by Kari Oki. The stage and dance floor. But no Kari Oki this time. 😔The control room.Night time. "Oh Blanche? Ya know we've got rats in the cellar." -- Jane Hudson (What Ever Happened to Baby Jane)
January 12Jan 12 Where's Wanda's pole??? She can't dance without a pole! Or does she confine her artistic dance interpretations to just the zoo, where the chimps are her biggest fans no doubt? That theater is gorgeous...although I hope those with weak bladders don't decide to sit in the middle seats of the back row and need to get up every 15 minutes...as does everyone else in that row.And it's not the number of seats that matters, it's how you use them, or so they say...

I forgot to add restrooms. Because what Wonder World really needs is more restrooms. Honestly, if you can't hold your liquids for a 20 minute show, get yourself a pair of Depends.(Actually, restrooms are planned in a future expansion of the theater in preparation for the nighttime live shows, which will be much longer venues.)A seldom shown wip screenshot. She may need to get a restraining order against him, which I imagine would be an ironic twist from her usual experience with restraining orders. I should have realized this was the Laserium when you posted the backstage. In my defense, I don't even remember most of what I built 10 years ago.So who are you getting to headline the grand reopening? (Protip: Youtube doesn't seem to care when channels our size commit royalty infringements. So far.)

So it appears the video will be blocked in Russia and Belarus. No great loss. The laser show will feature various artists. I will reveal more later. As for the live night shows, no headliner has been chosen yet, but it would most likely be someone or group from the 80s or 90s that is still alive and can only get gigs at small venues and/or theme parks. 😉 "Oh Blanche?
