March 15Mar 15 Author Thanks Miss B. I did learn that the game does require the mod installed for the track pieces to work correctly on another machine; without the mod the LSM pieces will revert to their default speeds and you will be unable to change them. With the mod the rides will work without you having to change anything, and then it can be easily deleted from the game folder if you don't want to keep it. I would have installed it just to get the vertical lift for the rapids ride alone but have found so many other things I can do with it.Also, the park is "technically" done and ready for the workshop. I'm just putzing around and adding unnecessary interiors, cleaning up some theming and other stuff. There's room for one more ride but I have no idea what to put there so I'm waiting to see what we get for a DLC.
March 15Mar 15 I'm not ready to use mods yet, but this video is sure selling the idea. If Frontier doesn't add the rides I need to finish my parks, I will definitely be going the mod route. I love seeing the fly-through over your park at the beginning of the video. It's just so impressive looking. And the ride is your best work yet. In fact, I think this rapids ride is better than any real world park that I've ever seen. Congrats on a job well done. "The squeaky wheel gets the kick." -- Minsc (Baldur's Gate)
March 15Mar 15 Author There's always things I notice after the video is posted that I either missed the first time or would go back and change. There were a few here, but much of this one held up on screen and I'm also very pleased with the video quality, my first attempt at 4K. In a rare stroke of luck, the offride cinematics in the intro all came from the same take, and I only had to edit out the parts where the camera decided to go under water 😛 I would have cried if YouTube pulled my music because the timing of the lift with the climax of the song was a perfect coincidence that I keep watching over and over. I think I enjoy talking about the making of videos much more than the actual process. Thanks for the kind words Shy!

From my YouTube research It seems people do get pretty soaked on these rides in real life, someday I will leave the house and find out. Granted, they don't have to sit waist deep in water every few seconds but I'm pretending like that isn't happening.
March 24Mar 24 Author Another interior that I didn't think I'd ever get around to doing (I'm clearly stalling now to find out what the next DLC is.) This one uses AI for all the wall art, and the scaling mod. The chairs and kitchen appliances are from the workshop. This is possibly crossing the line on not wanting to commercialize the ghost town but it just didn't seem realistic that the park would leave all these buildings empty. At least I refrained from any gaudy signage (except maybe the color pink.) The interior probably speaks more 1950's than 1880's, but I'm not sure there were a lot of ice cream parlors in the wild west.
March 24Mar 24 Just beautiful! My only criticism is that I've never seen an ice cream parlor in a theme park offer so many flavors. But that's hardly a criticism. 😋 "The squeaky wheel gets the kick." -- Minsc (Baldur's Gate)

I almost ended up with 13 flavors (which I now know is how many SDC has) by putting two tubs of each so the vendors wouldn't have to cross over each other. But then I got lazy. And also thought having the colors all randomized would make for a prettier picture 😁
March 24Mar 24 Disney offers about 6 flavors at their parks. ☹️ "The squeaky wheel gets the kick." -- Minsc (Baldur's Gate)
March 28Mar 28 The architecture is exquisite. Saguaro Casino looks like the real deal. And those interior shots of the ice cream parlour, JP..!! Sublime.
April 13Apr 13 Author Thanks Dutchie! Both those things get featured in this new vid, but it's mostly about the previously unfinished mine train ride that's been sitting in the park since day 1:
April 13Apr 13 I love mine train coasters, and this is a great one! I woulda stuck with "Not Thunder Mountain" as the name of the ride. (Rattlesnake Ridge is good too.)
April 14Apr 14 Top notch stuff! And that reshade (or whatever) you used made this look like real world ride footage. I had to pick my jaw off the floor after I watched this. "The squeaky wheel gets the kick." -- Minsc (Baldur's Gate)

I'm glad it turned out and is being received well, it's smack in the middle of the map and kind of sells the whole concept.20 hours ago, Wowman said:great coasterThanks Wowman, I never know if my coasters are good or not. At SGW I would always find out when people started throwing fruit at me. 😂18 hours ago, JB said:I love mine train coasters, and this is a great one! I agree NTM is much better, but the Almightyprod lawyers have NO SENSE OF HUMOR 🤬14 minutes ago, shyguy said:Top notch stuff! And that reshade (or whatever) you used made this look like real world ride footage. I had to pick my jaw off the floor after I watched this. Thanks Shy. Recording the last 2 videos in the highest possible resolution has made a huge difference in picture quality, since rendering and then uploading footage to YT degrades the resolution (not an issue I've noticed in any of your videos.) My reshade settings are pretty low right now, I think I'm only using them to mute the saturation a bit. The Skystudio mod is great tho because of the background haze and because I needed to get the sun specifically into a certain position (to cast light into the cave) that wouldn't have been available with Frontier's hour by hour time limitation.
April 14Apr 14 I do pretty much the same with my videos...Reshade to mute the saturation, Skystudio to set lighting and all shot in 4k. "The squeaky wheel gets the kick." -- Minsc (Baldur's Gate)
April 14Apr 14 Very, very nice! Great ride, outstanding theming. I also appreciated the look at some of the details like the 'snakes', the 'bats' and the underground cavern which I especially liked.

The YouTube AI assistant told me that while the video is doing well, most people are tuning out after my intros. Glad somebody appreciates the build details! 😁
April 26Apr 26 Author I got some good numbers on the last video so I wanted to see if I can ride the momentum. As with all things, I am keeping my expectations low.
April 26Apr 26 Howdy, y'all! One of your wittier videos, JP. I loved the rockwork, with the arches and hoodoos and such. I also liked the humorous signs, like "Axes to grind" and "No miner's allowed". The log riders get mighty wet in that turntable room (swimming pool). The pool water comes up to their waist! ;-)Good video. Thanks! (y'all)
April 26Apr 26 Author Haha, thanks, and glad you got the miner joke, I was afraid the pun was too subtle. Oh yes, this is one where I made sure not to tilt the camera down during the POV or you would've saw water under their chins in some spots. It's a fair trade to get some track visuals that aren't otherwise possible, I think that might be what's bringing in some of these newer viewers. People are curious about the mods but afraid of them until they can see them in action.
