Another top notch attraction by JP!

I love the details you put into this...including things like that beautiful view atop the mountain and in the distance, it looks like there's a storm brewing. I expect that was achieved with the Skystudio mod. Also, I love the washing machine room aka the second turntable and slushing water. If I ever get to building Cascade Canyon at Wonder World, you know I'll be reviewing your videos and copying, er, using them for inspiration.

I love "washing machine room" and now I think I want to go back and stick some laundry and maybe a box of Tide in there somewhere. If using anything in this file as reference means finally getting to see Cascade Canyon onscreen in the [hopefully near] future, copy away and do what must be done. I also feel like we're getting close to the beginning of Catfish Cove which I have been eagerly looking forward to. Yep, this reply is pretty much all about what I want 🤣 Thanks Shy!! (Oh, and yes, definitely Skystudio, I can't go anywhere without it these days)

Howdy, y'all! One of your wittier videos, JP. I loved the rockwork, with the arches and hoodoos and such. I also liked the humorous signs, like "Axes to grind" and "No miner's allowed". The log riders get mighty wet in that turntable room (swimming pool). The pool water comes up to their waist! ;-)

Good video. Thanks! (y'all)

Who-do's??? Once again JB is lost and doesn't know who's thread he's posting on... Who-do? JP-do! He-do this entire park JB!

I shouldn't bother explaining this because he'll probably fall back asleep and wake later wondering again 'who-do?' this park..or how to properly spell 'who'...

It's the careful added details and the attention to sight-lines keeping this on-theme that are stand outs, along with that great rockwork I'd say sets this a step or four above. The puns are perfect...not too subtle, but not too blaring either...even JB got them.

Haha, thanks Wagi! (And yes, I've already added "hoodoo" into my vocabulary, already waiting anxiously for my first chance to use it in conversation!)

Yep, getting ready to film video 9. Yep, going back to SteampunkLandia. The last 3 vids found the algorithm and I don't want to take any chances.

When we first saw it in video 2, I ended that video by walking past an empty room that I mentioned might someday be a gift shop. Well someday is today, er, yesterday.

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Das Maus was first renamed to Wilde Maus (technically correct in German) then renamed again to Clockworx with some additional new theming on the inside.

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

The vintage car ride was somewhat themed but quite poorly with no intention of ever showing any more of it in a video. For this one it has also been expanded and rethemed, I mean, it actually has a theme now. And the steamcars have canopy roofs.

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

What started with just me converting some of the midway games into actual games that the peeps would interact with turned into a makeover of the entire land, just about everything got some level of renovation.

[JB wakes up from one of his many naps.] "Hoo? What? Where?"... Oh, JP added something to his park.

I like the gift shop, but man, I would have to just stand there for 15 or 20 minutes so my eyes could get accustomed to the gloom.classic_tongue "Is this t-shirt white or yellow?" "Is this umbrella red or orange?". I was gonna mention something about the "ClockWorx" image looking like a Rembrandt painting; you know, really dark except for the one tiny highlight, but I already used up all my 'gloomy' jokes, soooo I won't. I like the mood of the last image. It reminds me of the 'rooftops of London' scene from Mary Poppins.

No fair posting these dark, nighttime shots where we can barely see those beautiful details that are a staple of your parks. Looking forward to seeing more of this area...in the daytime! 😜

Neither of you are going to like this. Since we've seen this area once before and since this is really the only section in the entire park that has night lighting, (this is the new functional midway update, LOTS of lights were added for that), I was thinking about doing this video as a dusk/nighttime/rain/possibly thunderstorm thing... maybe I'll do the intro cinematics with the mood and gloom and then shoot the voiceover narration in some degree of daylight. There are a lot of new details in this area and I'd hate for any of them to be missed!

On that note: @shyguy I knew you were experimenting with rain and thunderstorms before... I've been letting it run in thunderstorm mode for quite awhile and I'm not getting any lightning. Tried it with and without Skymod. Is there a trick to it? Only happen at certain times of day maybe?

I remember there being a problem with lightning and Skymod, which I brought to the attention of the mod maker. I'm not sure if anything came of that. Even without the mod, seeing actual lightning bolts was very rare and seemed to only occur when it was the darkest. I haven't touched lightning storms since. Maybe you need tall rides to attract the bolts, but I really don't know.

Thanks. This video kind of needs skymod so if that's the issue at least I know it now and won't waste time filming something that isn't going to happen; I think the modder behind Skymod hasn't been seen online since the mod first broke. (I realize how that sounds, me NEEDing a mod that we were all lucky to have in the first place and could just as easily have never happened.

Remember in PC1 when we had the lightning bolt special effect? Lightning anywhere you wanted it, anytime you wanted it. [sigh.]

If you're using video editing software to create your videos, many have the capability of adding effects. I added the lightning bolt in Wonder World Episode 1 this way. And I used AI to create the lightning bolts in WW Ep 4. Yes, it's a bit of work, but very doable if you really want them in your video.

Hate to hijack the thread, but does anyone have the link to skymod? I'm way too old and lazy to look it up myself!!!

JP, I could go on for pages about how beautiful and highly detailed this project is, but I think everyone else has really already said it! I will mention that I love the steam powered car! And that gift shop is beautiful, but as others have commented, a little dark!

@citytrader It's not published on the Nexus yet, still in testing but you can get it from this Discord server: https://discord.gg/coastersimsociety

Once you're a member there I think I can send you a direct link to the thread that has the download, or just search on "SkyStudio" and it should take you there.

I haven't filmed the gift shop yet but was just about to -- I'll see about boosting the lighting in there. The video is going to be dark overall but I need to make sure interiors can be seen. And thank you for the compliments!!

This may not be the answer, but when checking setting in my game today from the main menu, I noticed under "Accessibility Settings" there is an option for "Disable Lightning Flashing Effects" that was turned off on my game (I don't recall turning it off myself...).

Perhaps that has something to do with the lack of lightning in your game?

I bet that's affecting me too, I will check next time I'm in game, unfortunately I didn't catch this post before I did all my filming for this one. Thanks Wagi!

JB: New flashlight batteries are in the mail. I'm sending extras in case you need to share them with the others.

Actually, the gift shop seemed brighter in the video than it was in your screenshots. But I appreciate the batteries. My sister's cat is crazy about laser pointers, so the batteries will come in handy.

Excellent video presentation! I love your take on Steampunk. Yeah, some of it was pre-made by others, but you assembled it in your own particular way.

👍👍

Two big balls up! Err... I mean thumbs up. Yes... I definitely meant thumbs.

Great video. I'll definitely be downloading this from the workshop so I can dissect, er, check out this amazing park.

Wagi: The "Disable Lightning Flashing Effects" should be turned off, meaning that they are NOT disabled.

Oh, and JP: The standard and widely accepted plural of "roof" is indeed "roofs". Rooves is no longer used today. 😁

JB: I'm glad the gift shop lighting turned out in the video, esp because in-game it was exactly as bright as I wanted it to be, but didn't photograph that way. I feel like the same thing happened with the candy store awhile back. Thanks for defending my workshop use, some things I have no problem with but I feel like I should at least be doing my own architecture...

Shyguy: Feel free to point out the glaring (and even non-glaring) issues. It's not the biggest park I've ever built but after a year I think my eyes are immune to most of them, I usually only see mistakes AFTER I post them in a video.

The internet agrees with you on roofs. It didn't sound right when I watched the footage in editing. Does prove my point that I clearly don't know the one language that I speak. After the whole video was rendered I also caught myself referring to frame-rates incorrectly, I kept saying it was low as if that was a good thing. High framerates are good, which I still somehow have. My guess is because the LOD's are such crap but if it lets me actually keep building like this I suppose I should accept that.

It is still common usage in British English, and is found occasionally on our side of the pond. Interestingly, nouns ending in "F" have always been pluralized with "VES" as in hoof and hooves, elf and elves, calf and calves, or roof and rooves, just to name a few. However, slowly throughout the 20th century, the "VES" has been dropped or more properly converted to the far simpler "S". on numerous words, including roofs. One occasionally finds "calfs" and "elfs" today as well.

I love the English language, always evolving and changing!

JP, beautiful video!

Yep. I caught that one too, but didn't want to sound like a d**k by pointing out every little mistake you made. This is one reason I don't narrate my videos. 😁

Congratulations to JPTV for winning the ParkCrafters Project of the Year award. Very much deserved!!
