  1. Ohh I like this! I'll join with this shot from my Aquatic mini parade :D

You're welcome! I feel you about switching between PZ and PC2. I have have done many hours in PZ so switching to PC2 was a steep learning curve for me. Can't wait to see more :D
  3. Thanks! The scaling will be my savior in PZ2. It was such a struggle to work with very thick wall pieces in PZ1. The new pathing tool will also be ideal for a park like this, the big wide sandy patch in my pictures is supposed to be a plaza but you can't make those very easily in PZ1. Yeah I was happily surprised to see yours too! I think they are a great fit for zoos. I'm really curious to see more up close pictures of your tower. This one is was a tough one because it is made up of 2 twisting stairs (one for going up and one for going down) that twist around a central glass elevator shaft. The real Blijdorp tower sadly got torn down due to poor maintenance in the early seventies. I find it a crime because it was such an integral part of the building complex and central navigation and focus point of the zoo. I'm born after it already was gone so I sadly never got to witness it. I do have some old photos of my grandma on top of the observation deck.
  4. Thanks! it has been fun branching out of the 1 on 1 recreations and moving into my own creations.

Finally took the time to go trough the entire topic, this is such a trill! I mostly remember your other parks so to see your take on a zoo and different theming styles has been a treat. The village market details are very well done. I like the warm wooden look of the Bakery. The observation tower is epic, can't wait till we see a closer look on all that. The atrium space of the administration building turned out so nice! I love the glazed tiles in the icea cream parlor. It is one of the textures/objects I miss in PC2 and wish we will get soon in PZ2. The Insect Court turned out lovely, it's a cool idea to do exhibit boxes like that, I haven't seen it been done before like this. The Emporium is true eye candy, great job on that one!! It's really clever and smart how you've divided up the Hippo lake into smaller habitats yet still manage to make it look like one single space. The lake ranch area is adorable, I love the donkeys! Really curious to see where this park will go next.
  6. Hi all! Moving on to the other side of the street for more facades! From this point forward most building will be based on concept art and model pictures. The Paradise Pier redo got some budget cuts a lot of buildings did not get the level of details that the boardwalk games and Midway Mania got. ~Boardwalk Bazaar - Seaside Souvenirs - Restrooms - Ice Cream Parlor~ This strip of facades all got budget cuts and looked mostly like how they did on DCA opening day, the did add some paint and slight wooden details but it's not on the same level as the rest of the pier. The building in the middle is the one that I ended up calling Boardwalk Bazaar for my recreation. The green building on the right is the Boardwalk Bazaar. The 2 on the Left are for the Restroom and Seaside Souvenirs. This is my interpretation of the shop. I hadn't played around with the modular shops much before so it was fun to do that for this project! The next 2 facades are the red one on the left and the tattoos shop on the right. Like before these also got minimal redressing and mostly looked the same as their opening day counterpart. I looked at the model and turned these 2 into a restrooms building and Seaside Souvenirs. The blue building was the proposed redo of the red one in the picture above and the new red one is a redo of the tattoos shop. These were my PC interpretations of the building back in 2018. The new restrooms building in PC2. The new Seaside Souvenirs. I do think I'll go back to redo the interior for this one but for now it's fine. And the last one for today is the Ice Cream Parlor. This one also received very little upgrades from its opening day counterpart On the model it looked like the red building above. Another piece of concept art showed it like this. This is my final take on the Ice Cream Parlor. The final position for these shops are in the bend directly next to the row of arcade games facades. The final position of the Boardwalk Bazaar is a bit father away because I didn't want 2 souvenir shops so close together. I also still have to do the parade gate and parade barn nextdoor as you can see :P This is how the park looks right now. I had push and switch around a few facades to make the parade work. I also had to push out the boardwalk 8 more meter into the bay to make the street wide enough. I used to have a chair swing instead of the parachute drop but I think I'll save the chair swing for another part of the park. Coming up!For the next post I'll do the first 3 Rides with the Fun Wheel, Cosmic Caterpillar and Coaster! The Hotel/restaurant, theater, entrance arcade, parade and other rides are still being worked on :D ~Dexter~
  7. Thanks! This park has always been my main project for PZ and has been worked on from the start of the game till now so that has been many years. I love historical city zoo's but this zoo is a strange in between classic and modern zoo with they layout. The habitats and fields are big, the barriers make use of moats and glass (very modern at the time) and yet most of the holding areas are still painfully small and they still had old style bear pits and loads of concrete flooring in habitats.
  8. I'm really curious about the PC DLC's and if they will bring them back. Bringing back the PC base game themes felt like reaction and quick fix to the initial backlash. I feel like bringing back paid DLC for free would be a step to far for them. I do think It could work if they included 1 PC DLC with every new PC2 DLC pack. In that way they don't have to give away previous paid content for free and it'll give them a strategy and roadmap to drip feed them. That will also give all the new DLC an extra boost when they release. Thanks for the comment! Well you're in luck because they all are on the workshop already. This topic is a bit behind where I am in real life so you'll also get a sneak peak in what's to come :P Have fun stea- borrowing! Workshop page

Ohh I love the pool shot! The fences with the square lamps also look really aesthetically pleasing.
  10. Thanks!! That means a lot coming from you!
  11. Dxtrrr replied to Miss Barbare's topic in Projects
The iron gazebos with flowers and plants turned out really nice. The raised berm with greenery also feels very realistic!
  12. Thanks for the comment! It was really fun but also a struggle to get everything on the right scale. I projected a 4m by 4m grid on top op the park map and went square by square to get everything in the right position. For all the buildings I've found all the original blueprints in the city archives so they were a huge help.
  13. It really is a stark contrast when you see them next to each other. I've played a lot of PZ in the past years before PC2 came along. I got so used to PZ that I forgot how PC looked. It's also really fun to now have a lot of the same pieces from PC in PC2 again like the swirling icings pieces I used for decorating.
  14. Hi all!I won't finish this park before PZ2 but I did put in many years of hard work so I wanted to share it with you all. ~Rotterdam Zoo - Rotterdamse Diergaarde~This is a historic recreation of my local zoo. The Rotterdam Zoo used to be housed in the old city center and was fashioned like other old city zoos such as Artis in Amsterdam or the Zoo Antwerp. When Rotterdam grew bigger the city wanted to use the ground the zoo was located on for other buildings. This gave the Zoo an opportunity to move and start from scratch. This also was a very special moment to design and master plan a full size zoo in one go. Sybold van Ravensteyn was the man who would design the layout, building, interiors and many more decorative elements for the zoo. This has resulted in a zoo with 1 very strong style and cohesive architecture look. The new zoo was build on a polder/piece of farm land just outside the city boundaries. This new neighborhood was names Blijdorp after the original farm lands and so the zoo also adopted the Blijdorp name. ~1940-1950~ The Zoo opened in 1940 which is a very specific year in Dutch and Rotterdam history. This is the year when the Netherlands got invaded by Germany and the WOII started for us. The city of Rotterdam was heavily bombed and the historic city center was almost fully destroyed including the old city zoo. The weird coincidence is that 1940 also was planned to be the opening year for the new Blijdorp Zoo outside the city. The new zoo was almost fully finished and opened in 1940. Because the city center was almost fully destroyed the zoo took over the roll of main event space for formal events but also for entertainment for the people of the city (and sadly also for the occupiers) ~Recreation~For this recreation I wanted to capture the early years of the new zoo when all of the buildings and layout by Ravensteyn were still in tact. A lot of the original buildings and layout can still be found in the current zoo but some mayor elements have been lost or altered. I do know animal welfare standards have improved immensely since 1940 but for recreation sake and for historical accuracy I still wanted to follow the original plans. To tackle this recreation I've collected many old photos and blueprints from the city archives. I've also used and edited the old map as a base for this recreation. This is a screenshot of the park plans from the early years. I've traced and colored it in Illustrator myself. This is the current stage and I don't really feel the need to finish it before Planet Zoo 2. I love the project but I think stuff like scaling will and my grown skills and knowledge of the zoo will be great for a second go around in PZ2. The zoo seen from the north. The layout was designed around a central axis that stretches from the 2 points of the zoo that are farthest apart. Most of the mayor building were located on this central axis. Fanning of this main axis are all the animal habitat and fields. The center of the zoo and focal point was the observation tower and lake. Attached to the tower was the main building complex of the zoo which housed the tropical greenhouses, a stage for events & concerts, indoor exhibits for the great apes, indoor exhibits for pachyderms and a restaurant and smaller exhibit spaces. The Zoo as seen from the north looking at the south. The zoo seen from the south. This gives a better view of the massive central building complex of the zoo. In the left corner on the lower end of the axis you can see the old predator building with a large chimney to heat the indoor holdings. This building used to house lions and tigers on 2 separate terraces. The south was closer connected to the old city center. The large intersection and tram loop is where the main entrance is located. This angle is also from the south but shifted a bit more to the west. On the left of the surrounding trees you can see a large playground that was added after opening. I never got to the playground part in my recreation sadly. Planet Zoo 2026-07-01 22-11-18.mp4 A quick spin around the observation tower for an overview of the park! Coming up!I want to go around the zoo and take you on a tour of the stuff I've done so far and stuff that I never got around finishing, hope you all enjoy :D ~Dexter~

This looks really cool. I like the lighthouse and overall feeling of the Pinniped Point area. The new cart is also well done, very detailed.
  16. Hi all! Thanks for all the kind words so far, I feel really welcome here and am happy to show my creations. In this post I wanted to share the other facades I've done for the arcade games. I know it's stuff I have shared before on reddit (excluding the PC1 pictures and builds) but I wanted this topic to be a chronological look at how I've done this park. I'll try to some build per post so we will catch up to the here and now (and new stuff!) faster. ~Games of the Boardwalk 2/3/4~The next few facades also started in PC1 and have been rebuild in PC2 in a more accurate scale and made to fit the arcades. With these 4 buildings I have found a place for all the games and machines that came with the arcade update. I didn't add the video game arcades because I don't think they fit the time and theming I'm going for with this park. The second games facade houses the Casey at the bat game, The third games facade houses the Bullseye Stallion Stampede game, This fourth games facade is actually the queue for Midway Mania but I converted it also to fit the shops. Casey at the bat became 3 Alley-Oop games for the second facade. Bullseye Stallion Stamped became 3 Token Tumble games for the third facade. The Midway Mania queue building is where I started to slowly step away from a full recreation and give more of my own spin on the buildings. This queue was turned into more space for the arcades with 2 Paddle Battle games, 5 Popup Panic games and 5 ticket Claw Machines. The completed facade row for all the arcade games :D I'm really happy how this has turned out in the end and how far it has grown from the PC 1 days! Coming up!For the next post I'll do the 2 souvenir shops, Ice Cream Parlor and Restroom facilities. After that I'll move on to the first 3 Rides with the Fun Wheel, Cosmic Caterpillar and Coaster! Then we'll still have some other rides and facades left before we get to my current time in the game. ~Dexter~
  17. Fun POV! I like the theming and inside portions. The parade also looks cool, I like the more compact floats you've done.

Dang I didn't know that, good for California! I never quite looked for them over here in the Netherlands when it comes to theme-parks. I do work with parking and traffic planning myself in my current job but that is more focused on housing and smaller commercial or industrial spaces. Public handicap accessible spaces are much more free to place (and more on request by the commercial spaces themself) We do have stronger regulation for personal handicap accessible spaces. I believe they are even regulated on EU law levels.
  19. Thanks for the tip! I've just downloaded it and looked around, it does look like something i could use. I'll go try some stuff. Thanks for the welcome and kind words! Any specific requests on what you want to see of the coaster? I've got most of the station and queue done, I still need to clean up some edges. I've used the in-game layout of the Cirrus (City Peninsula Wooden) from the Vintage Funfair Ride pack. I did raise the coaster quite a bit for a more dramatic skyline. Raising the coaster also gave me the opportunity to deepen the dips, lengthen the chain lift and reposition the station.
  20. Thanks, I think I'll give it a try. I think a smaller project like a properly filmed version of my mini parade would make a fun start/try-out. My first questing is what program do you use to edit videos? I use the Microsoft build in gaming mode on my desktop PC to screen capture pictures and videos. Would that be a good way or do you recomend another way? Thanks for all the support and love you've given my work so far!! Cool to hear you've been to DCA, I've never been to parks so I only have pictures and videos to work off on. I'm from the Netherlands and have only been to parks in Europe so far. I like some of the more classic elements of the Pixar Pier but they somehow feel very out of scale and the colors are very garish (look at how they've done the Midway Mania building dirty big time!!) Yeah sadly modern Disney and theme-park lands lean hard on IP only. Can't wait to see more of your Buena Vista Street build. I might be working o a 1 on 1 recreation of Buena Vista Street myself. I've gathered quite some blueprints, pictures of the model, concept art and more. I've layered multiple blueprints and drawings to have everything on scale so far. Thanks! I wondered what kind of software you use to make/edit videos. I've used the game mode on my PC to capture pictures and record videos but don't have software to edit (let alone add sound/music and record sound) I feel a bit overwhelmed by the scenery pieces. I debate on whether I want to renovate the buildings I already have of just use them for newer buildings. I did replace all the viking roofing with the new roofing so that already looks good and more shiny that before. I've also played around with the new pieces on top of the existing Western riverboat for a parade float. (link to redit post with pictures)
  21. Ohhh I like were this is going. Great job on the renovations so far! I love the shot with the tram.
  22. Dxtrrr replied to shyguy's topic in Projects
Looking good as always!! I still adore how grid like but also free this park looks. It gives me RCT3 nostalgia. The parking lot is looking good so far too. That is one massive disability parking lot you've got there btw, good to keep accessibility for your guest in mind when building a park. I've stayed away from parking lots myself because I'd be afraid to get lost in all the detailing and roadwork.
  23. I feel your pain!! I had multiple breakdowns trying to fit in the parade route. Just like you I thought I came prepared with a wide street with sidewalks and a space for a potential parade barn. But my street was only 8m wide instead of the 16 I needed to make it all work. I had already build some rides along the riverfront and landscaped a bit but I had to move it all and it was no fun at al. I didn't want to push out al the facades on the city side because I was scared it would mess up the the individual lined up grids (+coaster behind them) so I had to move everything further into the lake. Like Shyguy said, the game pushes you to build the other way around and do the parade path first. Also those black lines are stupid ugly!! (I really hope frontier will patch those out) I still think you've managed to fit it all in really well. It sucks to rebuild the stuff around the lake but most rebuilds end in a better design because you're skills have grown and you know what worked and what didn't. I like the circles and little plazas you've made, the work really well. Also chuckled at the Jet2 Holiday sign :P The new tall Award Wieners also looking sharp! Keep up the great work, be patience with the parades because my games crashed multiple time building those, don't forget to save often in between.
  24. Thanks! Glad to be of help. I didn't want to put my stuff on the workshop because I was scared people would claim it to be their own. But now I do enjoy sharing them and seeing what people can do with it.
  25. Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words! Like I've said before you've been influential for my builds and love for theme parks :D The gifs where fun to make and surprisingly easy, I should make more. I want to make some videos too but I don't have experience with making those and I don't really know where to start.
