July 3Jul 3 Ohh I love the pool shot! The fences with the square lamps also look really aesthetically pleasing.
July 3Jul 3 You've really captured that motel look, but where's the boardwalk? 😆Seriously, beautiful job!

July 11Jul 11 If it weren't for the cartoony guests, I'd swear those shots of the motel were actual real world photos. "Oh Blanche? Ya know we've got rats in the cellar." -- Jane Hudson (What Ever Happened to Baby Jane)
July 11Jul 11 Love the diner! The overview is nice as well. I like how you've laid it all out!Still waiting for my boardwalk! 🤣

July 13Jul 13 Love the coffee shop! You really have a great handle on mid-century modern architecture!

Will you keep this build as a cityscape or will you add rides? There is a boardwalk amusement park over to the right that's going up as well. The boardwalk wont take up much more than a third of the map and I had all this space so, I figured why not build some of the outside stuff I never leave room for typically in my projects. 11 hours ago, citytrader said:Love the coffee shop! You really have a great handle on mid-century modern architecture!I have been fascinated with the style since I was a little kid, Mid Century Modern and Googie both. That last coffee shop is inspired by Armet Davis Newlove architects, they designed a lot of the 1950's googie coffee shops and buildings in LA and other places around the country. The palms going through the opening in the overhang and the sign posts also going through the roof is something you would see them do often both in concept sketches sand several projects that were actually built. I am going to do a mix of styles for buildings as you can already kind of see but a lot of influence form the 50's and 60s. I am sure there will something from the 80's around somewhere also.
July 14Jul 14 Ah! I spot the rides in the back now, not sure how I missed those. Probably distracted by the beautiful buildings.
July 19Jul 19 Author It's been a minute since I had enough for an update.Since a lot of what I am building right now is part of the boardwalk amusement park and is instead a representation of a town, I am mixing styles and eras so it is more like how an actual city would have progressed and changed over time. Blocking out the boulevard.
4 hours ago4 hr Author Progress in Planet Diners Drive Ins and Dives.I will probably do something more with this interior, change the floor add some things to the walls.I miss the diner doors from PC1 right about now. There really is a boardwalk in this park file. I am sure we will get over there eventually.
