  1. COMMUNITY UPDATE #2 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2023 BLEGH! Hey ParkCrafters community and happy Halloween! We got our next major community update here with loads of new and exciting features- some of which you may have already noticed. We are now roughly 4 months since the launch of the community and people are still sharing their work, commenting on others, starting discussions, and being active on both the forum and Discord. I'm so happy to see a thriving community for theme park sims, especially since the community was so scattered before. Thanks to everyone on here for keeping this place active and a joy to browse and be a part of! As the community continues to expand, so do our features and improvements - check out the new features, now available! --- Come with us and you will see this, our town of Halloween! ParkCrafters and our Discord server have been redesigned for the spooky season! Our Halloween skin features both a light and dark theme like the normal look and feel of our community. Our light theme features more of an Autumn/Fall look while our dark theme features more of a scary/Halloween theme. You can change between the light and dark theme at the top right corner by clicking on the paint bucket icon. Looking to revert to the normal look? You can always swap back to our normal default theme by clicking on 'Theme' on the bottom left corner of the page and clicking on 'ParkCrafters Theme'. Our Halloween skin will be available until November 1st, 2023. --- Reactions Get 🤯 Our reactions system is widely used across the entire site. Users can leave a like, laugh at a post, be confused, cry, and.. that's about it. We've expanded on our list of reactions to include over 10 new reactions! If you aren't aware yet, every time you gain a 'positive' reaction, your reputation on the community will increase. If your content receives a negative reaction, your reputation will decrease. Some of our reactions do include negative reactions, the infamous dislike button has also been added to our site since we believe in the freedom of expressing your opinion. Please use these reactions responsibly, they should not be used as tools to inflict toxicity on others. We're all mature here, so I expect everyone to use the tools at their disposal as a form of constructive criticism only. If you're curious, here's a breakdown of the new reactions added along with their point change: Like (+1) Love (+1) Haha (+1) Thanks (+1) Care (+0) Thinking (+0) Wow (+0) Confused (+0) Sad (+0) Angry (-1) Dislike (-1) Depending on your reputation number, you are also given a rank! You can view your rank on your profile page by hovering over your reputation number or clicking on your reputation number. Here's a rundown of reputation ranks if you're curious! Honorable (5,000) Popular (1,000) Excellent (500) Good (100) Neutral (0) Poor (-100) Bad (-500) Unpopular (-1,000) Dishonorable (-5,000) You can also view the leaderboard for who has the highest reputation score and more by visiting our leaderboard page, under the Activity Tab! --- Leveling Up Our Achievements! On top of our reactions being expanded, our achievements system has also been expanded! Based on how active you are across the community, you will earn points and your achievement rank will increase! Like the reactions rank, you can view your achievement rank on your profile page and you can see your number of points on the user drop-down menu on the top right corner of the screen when you click on your username. 3. I came across an old thread at Frontier that Wagi posted about the closing of SGW (thanks, Wagi). He listed ParkCrafters as the new site to replace SGW and it wasn't censored or deleted. That was 2 years ago. Today, I mention this forum and my post is instantly deleted. I don't mean to continue to harp on this, but it just shows how Frontier has changed for the worse. Even though I love their games, I've never warmed up to the company. I don't care for their business model of creating half a (buggy) game and then milking their players for years to buy the rest of the game in multitudes of over-prided DLCs. When SGW was around, devs from most of the games we supported personally reached out to me, like Parkitect and NoLimits. But not Frontier. And they were still a fairly small company back then. Now, I think they've gotten too big for their britches and are suffering for it...putting out too many games at one time, all with issues that are never fixed, and making stupid corporate decisions that make little sense. And their blatant lack of transparency is continuing to put off more and more of their playerbase. They went from being adored, when Planet Coaster was launched, to what they've become today. That's progress. ps. I'm thoroughly enjoying the drama over there with the forum's eminent closure. I kind of feel sorry for the volunteer mods who have entered the fray and are also being attacked. And sorry for the members who are mourning the loss of a community forum, and I can't even tell them about this one.
  4. Hey everyone, we have some exciting news today - ParkCrafters has just gained a new moderator to help expand our staff team! Please help me in welcoming and congratulating @Bookworm91 to the staff team here at ParkCrafters! Bookworm91 has shown to be an exemplary member, contributing to the community while still managing to create awesome projects. With an extensive history of moderation back during the vPyro days and being a long veteran of the community, we are extremely grateful and excited to have Bookworm91 join us as a moderator here at ParkCrafters! Please help me in welcoming him to the team, and we look forward to seeing what he will do for the community!
  5. If you've been an active member of our Discord server, then this should come as no surprise to you! I've officially begun production on my next big project - which is an exact and ultimate recreation of both World Showcase Lagoon and IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth from Walt Disney World's Epcot. This is a huge project and will require many hurdles to overcome, but it is an important passion project of mine as this show holds a very special place for me. Ever since seeing this show in person, it has kickstarted and set a fire in me to be more creative... It was this very show that even got me into RCT3, pyro, and eventually into digital art. (Does this mean I have IllumiNations to thank for getting the professional job I have now? Maybe...) I was extremely saddened to see Disney permanently remove this extraordinary spectacle and I feel the world needs a show/piece like this now more than ever. I've taken it upon myself to try and recreate this show as faithfully as possible to continue the legacy and remembrance that this show has left behind for so many people, myself included. As I've mentioned before, if you've been a part of our Discord server, then you've probably seen me jumping on call and building out this massive project. I'm being extremely transparent with how I'm building this project from the ground up so I invite you to join us sometimes if you ever want to watch or just hang out and chat while I work on this! I've started with World Showcase Lagoon and have quite a good chunk of it completed already but I will begin rolling out official updates on this thread! I hope you look forward to seeing both World Showcase and IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth come back alive soon! In the meantime, I'll leave you all with the first official update, direct from World Showcase Lagoon: Kicking off our countries showcase, I've started with The American Adventure! 🇺🇸 I started with The American Adventure as it is situated directly in the center of World Showcase Lagoon. From here, it's much more manageable to create the surrounding countries to make sure it all lines up (and the Lagoon circle actually closes correctly)! More updates to follow but I'm excited to be working on a new project and to finally publicly share it with you all!
  6. Great job guys! So glad to see the guardianship of these precious RCT3 files has been passed to such capable hands. I can finally retire from this role guilt free. 😉

Returning to Expo 3000, while not included in the PC1 version, is the Photo Shop, or more precisely, the WONDERful Memories Photo Shop. Originally the Camera Shop in the initial design of the Wonder World Model, camera shops have not been a thing in theme parks for some years now. But digital photo services have gotten big. At the WONDERful Memories Photo Shop, you can purchase the DigiPass, which lets you collect an unlimited amount of digital photos taken personally, by the park's photographers, and on-ride photos, for a single price. There are 3 tiers from which you can choose to purchase. The Single Park, One Day Pass... The Multi-Park, One Day Pass... And the Multi-Park Annual Pass. Various pics of the park will be displayed on the monitors, once more of the park has been built. Video of the animated DigiPass display. (Excuse the shaky camera. 1st person camera mode is a bit janky in PC2. I'm hoping they'll make it work more like the PZ version, which is much smoother.)
  8. Hey guys, its been awhile. I have took a break from PC2, cities skylines 2 because of the unfinished nature of things. Every 4 months I open them up and don't see much updates or changes thinking, "OH! Maybe we have spooky scenery, or custom things. And nope not yet..." Which is ashamed because we have real darkness, but no haunted scenery? That makes no sense. It is sad to see how frontier handled the forum situation, forums are so much easier to follow projects and story parks. I love making parks with a tineline, and the participants that react. It keeps things fun and exciting. Discord is too much like scrolling on facebook, it is too much and annoying. It's good for a group chat, but I want to be able to see things in a organized manner or look back at older things. It is nice to see familiar faces still here and even new people. Maybe the forum closing will be positive for this forum! I hope to open PC2 and make something cool to show others when the time is right! I will say being in my 30s with a house, wife, and band make it harder to work on things like this compared to being 12 years old on Atari forums with unlimited time haha. But I look forward to creating and sharing at some point.
  9. i came here also based on shyguys suggestion :) hey guys, realy cool to meet new people here and also see some familiar names from the frontier forums
  10. Hey all! Thank you for allowing me to be the winner of the 2025 Member Of The Year. This is a huge honor, and I could not have won this award without the support of the community. I have enjoyed connecting with many members and getting even more familiar with your lives and projects here at ParkCrafters! I hope to continue this trend along with being a long-standing member of the staff.
  11. I say secret park, because I never really share any of the parks I make. And even though this one had been in a state of "done-ness" for a while, I started tinkering with it a couple of months ago, and now I've been completely renovating entire sections of the park, and quite frankly some of it is starting to look pretty damn good (for what I can do at least). So I'm going to step outside of my comfort zone, and be a little proud of what I can accomplish in this game and let you in on a park that I've slowly built on since Christmas Eve of 2018. There are many things to cover about the park as a whole. Firstly, there is no name. Never thought of one, naming things isn't exactly my forte (thank god I don't have kids), so if you someone hits me with a good idea, then maybe I'll adopt it. Secondly, the park does take a lot of cues from some of my favorite parks that I've been to, namely Cedar Point, WDW, and Silver Dollar City, the latter being my home park. You'll see various influences from each in here. Don't expect a full-blown theme park, but rather themed sections or loosely-themed sections, depending on where we are. Sometimes the theme is the draw; sometimes the ride is the draw. While I do aim for realism, I'm only aiming for like...75% realism, so don't be surprised if something isn't exactly where it's supposed to be. But with all that talkin' out of the way, I now introduce you to a relaunched concept from a park file I tragically lost once: a haunted shooty ride. Hit the targets, weird things happen. Sometimes, they just happen without your intervention. Nonetheless, this attraction, Apparition Manor, takes heavy cues from three places: Haunted Mansion (HM), Space Ranger Spin (SRS), and The Flooded Mine (FM, from Silver Dollar City). The cars will rotate and face you towards show scenes in a HM style, usually smooth and fluid, but unable to be changed by guests. There are many illusions and gags around the Manor, again in HM style, including a nod to the changing portraits....if I can find the assets again on the workshop. HM also gave great inspiration to the layout of the attraction, though not to the design of the house, which is modeled after something I found on Google. Once you get through the opening queue outside, you round the corner of the house, and enter below what would be the first floor. This helps to keep the show building (that you can see peaking around the side) sunken below and behind the Manor itself. Speaking of, the Manor itself only houses the queue and exit paths (as well as a bathroom and staff room). The entire attraction takes place in the show building. I'm still building all of the show scenes, and most of what is built is very structural (room layouts/sizes, doors, big-scale illusions), but here's what we've got thus far. And finally, a birds-eye view of the entire attraction. Yes that show building hides very well back there, especially in go-away green. You can see some sneak-peaks here of some of the other attractions, but for now I gotta run. More to come, if that's the kinda thing you're into. 😘 - StickyGum32
  12. Frontier has officially announced Planet Coaster 2! PlanCo2 will include waterparks, use the new Planet Zoo engine, and have updated building mechanics. It's currently slated for a Fall 2024 release and we'll see more information and gameplay on July 31st, 2024. Check out the first announcement trailer below! What are you all hoping to see in Planet Coaster 2? I personally hope we'll see an improved mixmaster/firework engine but that's just me dreaming 😇
  13. - INFORMATION & VOTING - The 2024 ParkCrafters Awards is here! Below you'll find all the information, voting links, and times for our upcoming anniversary event of the year. SAY HELLO TO THE PARKCRAFTERS AWARDS To help celebrate ParkCrafters 1st anniversary, we're hosting our very first annual ParkCrafters Awards (PCAs)! This is a time to come together as a community to celebrate everything that has been shared and created throughout the past year - and of course, celebrate you all! The ParkCrafters Awards is finally here as our anniversary is approaching, so get ready to join in on the fun! WHAT IS THE PARKCRAFTERS AWARDS? The ParkCrafters Awards is a staff-picked project-nominated award show where you, the community, get to vote on the winners in multiple categories. It all comes together during our live showing of the PCAs 2024 on our Discord server where the staff will announce the winners, have some fun with the community, and maybe unveil some upcoming surprises from both members' projects and community features. This award show is planned to happen only once a year around our community's anniversary where we take a look back at all the amazing content and projects shared. HOW ARE PROJECTS NOMINATED AND WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES? Staff has reviewed every single project that has been posted on ParkCrafters within the past year and determined which ones should be nominated for award categories that span across all aspects of projects and games we host here on ParkCrafters. The official 2024 award categories are: Best Planet Coaster Project Best Planet Zoo Project Best Parkitect Project Best RCT 1 & 2 Project Best RCT3 Project Park of the Year Attraction of the Year Show of the Year Best Editing in a Project People's Choice Award Member of the Year Project of the Year *There were not enough projects posted on NoLimits 2 and Cities: Skylines sections so those were not included this year. We kept certain criteria when nominating projects to make sure that the project nominated made sense for both the award show and their respective category. These criteria are: The project must have been posted within the last year of ParkCrafters (May 30th 2023 - April 1st, 2024). All projects shared before the award show and after April 1st, 2024 will be eligible for next year's show. The project must have been completed or if it's an ongoing project (as many park projects are), it must have been ongoing AND active for a minimum of 3 months. Past projects that were just reposted on ParkCrafters are not applicable (wolfpaw's Past Pyro Shows for example will not count towards nominations). Projects posted by now banned members are not applicable. HOW DOES VOTING WORK? While the staff chooses which projects are nominated and the categories, it's up to you and your fellow members to determine which project should win. At the end of this post, you'll find a link to all nominations where you can vote in a poll in each category thread. Each thread will contain a poll for you to vote in, what that category entails, the nominated projects, links to those nominated projects if you want to revisit them, instructions on how to vote, and a short nominated video showcasing all of the nominated projects. Voting is and will forever be ANONYMOUS and results are HIDDEN until the winners are announced during the live broadcast of the PCAs. Keep in mind that account collusion (creating multiple accounts or forcing others to vote for your project to win) is against our rules and if found out we will ban your account(s). Keep everything fair and let the public decide! *In the event of a tie, it will be up to the staff's discretion to determine the winner. WHAT DOES THE LIVE SHOWING ENTAIL? Once voting is complete, the PCAs will be broadcasted and winners announced live on our Discord server. This night will unveil all the winners, the winner for the Canvas Clash competition, upcoming projects from members who sent in videos, upcoming community features, premieres of new projects, and overall just a fun time with all of the community to help celebrate ParkCrafters first anniversary. Talking in the Discord call that night is completely optional so if you'd like to just jump in to view the award show and be on mute - that is perfectly fine! CAN I SUBMIT CONTENT TO BE SHOWN DURING THE PCAs? Yes! If you'd like to submit a new trailer or teaser for an upcoming project - or just debut an entire project during the PCAs, please private message @wolfpaw with your content and we can add it to the show lineup. Please keep in mind that due to the format and nature of the show, your trailer, teaser, or premiere of a project MUST be in a video format. If you have something you'd like to show, send a message and we can discuss further. We're now taking content to be shown during the PCAs until voting ends, so if you have something send it in! WHAT DO I GET IF MY PROJECT WINS? 14. Happy Monday everyone! May is flying by, and we got some big events coming up for World Of Discovery. This Friday, May 24th is the opening of our newest resort, the Innovations Resort! This opening will be the catalyst for more developments that are being thought up as this will begin the transition into the Discover Parks and Resorts franchise. There are some big plans for the upcoming years that are already being cooked up and I am excited to reveal them later this year for the 20th anniversary of RCT3! The next BIG event is the ParkCrafters Awards! This event takes place on May 30th, and I am sure many of you are aware that this coincides with the 1-year anniversary of this community. The staff worked hard to go through all projects that met certain requirements and I am super excited to say that World Of Discovery has been nominated for 3 awards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This project was nominated for the following categories: People's Choice Award Park Of The Year Award Best Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Project Award I will say this is a huge honor as this is the first time I have gotten nominated for any awards within the theme park gaming community. This project I started in 2016 as a freshman in college with it including many concepts that I dreamed up years prior. I was a lurker at the time, hoarding custom content and using in-game trees, no path covers, curveless paths, and other things I would cringe at these days. The project was first posted on ShyGuysWorld and on TheCreatorsLounge and was almost an Epcot clone on a low budget. It then quickly evolved when @wolfpaw and@StickyGum32 got involved after my many many requests. Sorry not sorry 😉, but I also want to thank @Kablary and @Wilhelm1407 for being part of the staff that put this project in these categories as well. I hated nominating myself, but we all had to do it because boss told us to 😜. It is going to be a fun event and I am looking forward to seeing as many members participate in the awards. But most of all, thank you for the opportunity to be nominated for this project (and my two Disney parks), this was the first project I have publicly shared and the first one I moved to this community. Back to World Of Discovery, for the awards we have a pretty good agenda to celebrate the big occasion. The park will be streaming the awards using the barges in the World Exposition Lagoon. Event guests are encouraged to reserve rooms at the Innovations Resort as a fair number of rooms are being set for the event. Guests will receive complimentary admission, food & beverages, and admission to the awards until the end of the afterparty. May 30 Schedule: Park hours: 9 AM - 4 PM Event guests can check in starting at 3 PM. Social gathering 6 PM - 7:45 PM Awards begin at 8 PM. Afterparty begins at the conclusion of the awards and lasts until midnight. Discover showing at 11 PM.

  16. IT'S ALMOST OCTOBER!! Everyone has craftiness in them, you just have to dig it out! How? A lot can be accomplished with a really good hot glue gun and high pain tolerance (for when the glue drips onto your leg....and you're not wearing pants). Thanks Gin 💖 Another project I did back in '21 was build a model (not to scale, by any means) for a spooky house I wanted to create IRL. It started with chipboard. Each section of the "house" had magnets that held them all together: And then balsa wood: A little bit of paint, some rickety-looking shutters: A wittle teeny weeny doorbell: And the final painted product (I ran out of balsa to make a second pair of shutters): ok fine i was lazy and didn't want to BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! This spooky house model was a proof-of-concept for an interactive haunted house, to be built in the front yard as a facade. We live in a condo, and therefore don't have a yard, but the plan was to eventually GET a yard so I could built this thing out! Guests would walk up the porch, ring the doorbell, and the facade would come to life with any one of 20 randomized sequences. Some short edits of Halloween-centric songs, some jump-scare noises, sometimes nothing at all! Lights, fog, audio, and physical vibrations in the floor would all be part of the experience. And if you managed to stand and wait til the end of the chaos, the door would open and you'd get candy! Programming was done entirely via the Director Software on a Fright Ideas BooBox Flex MAX prop controller, running three 32ch DMX decoders (for the nano LEDs) and an ADJ WiFly Transceiver that fed eight ADJ Saber Spot Go lights.
  17. YA'LL READY TO HAVE SOME FUN?! Bite O' Fun is complete! Below are two videos of the show. The first is what I would call the "Production Final" with some cinematic camera pans (save for some lag): This next one is the show recorded from a fixed position. On my older laptop, achieving a 1080p 60fps recording means that even delicate camera movements can and will induce a great deal of unavoidable lag. Massive thanks to @wolfpaw for his guidance through the production of this mini show! I had to basically learn everything from scratch again. And a great deal of appreciation to @Wilhelm1407 for cracking the secrets of 60 fps recording in the game! Stay tuned for the next show in this mini-series, Bite O' Bark
  18. Scooby dooby scooby dooby scooby dooby scooby dooby scooby dooby scooby dooby scooby dooby scooby dooby scooby dooby Below is the 'final' video. The original idea was to finish it off with a hallway gag between the RCT3 peeps and the spooky panda mascot but life got in the way. The big reveal was that Mr. Wonder was the spooky panda all along and Shyguy agreed to post the meddling kids quote in character. [RCT3] SSD'15 - Scooby-Doo - Final Video.mp4

I'm waiting to see what the DLC and the update will actually contain before I make a full judgement on this news. I'm more interested in the bug fixes than the flashy stuff to be honest.
  20. Sadly, most game companies today are not the same companies they once were. How many once great game developers and publishers have gone down the tubes, or are even hated today? EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Bioware... the list goes on. They've either gotten too greedy, lost their creative flare, produce buggy and low quality games, or all of the above. A company is only as good as the people who work for it. And lets face it, the talented people who created many of the great games of the past are simply not around any more. Which is why every game Ubisoft releases is just a clone of the previous game, just with a different setting. Bethesda, known for its mega hits such a Oblivion and Skyrim, is now making duds like Fallout 76 and Starfield. The talent simply isn't there anymore. Now I'm not saying Frontier is making duds or is not capable of making good games, because they certainly are. But the way they run the company is much different today than it was even a few years ago. The industry has changed (for the worse) plus the people running and working for the company are not the same people who were there years ago. The entire business model has changed, and the need to cut costs, doing the absolute minimum when it comes to community relations, and the almost desperate need to come up with ways to make the most money possible (in other words, milking the players with endless, small, over-priced DLCs or the horrible Pay-to-Play business models seen in many MMOs) is now the norm. So what I'm getting at is these are the reasons why once beloved companies, become hated over time. And this doesn't only affect the game industry. Take Disney, for instance. It is so far from the beloved company it once was. And that's mostly because the talent that Walt assembled in the old days is now gone. It is "Disney" in name alone. They don't seem to be able to come up with anything new and original...just uninspired remake after remake of old, Disney classics. And what's coming out of the Imagineering Dept. for the theme parks is continually less and less impressive. It's because legends such as Bob Gurr, Tony Baxter, and Joe Rohde, no longer work there. So ya, it's just a sign of the times. The entertainment industry as a whole is populated by less talented, less creative, and less passionate people and seem to be only motivated by greed. Yes, there are still a few beacons of light in the game development industry, like Larian Studios, and CD Projekt Red. And Frontier certainly hasn't sunk as low as some of the companies I've mentioned. But they could certainly do better. Planet Coaster 2 should have been a revolutionary improvement over the first. Instead, it seems more like a cash grab with a slightly improved engine and a DLC-sized addition of Water Park stuff. There ARE some really great improvements that they DID make, and I am quite happy with many aspects of the game. But those "wow" moments we got seeing many of the new features and attractions in the first game are simply not there in PC2. But there is no reason why we can't see some great innovative additions to the game in the future...as long as there are still some talented, creative, and passionate developers working for Frontier. But I don't really know if there are, as it IS simply not the Frontier that is used to be.
  21. I won't miss the streams; they were awkward and unnecessarily time consuming and I would always wait until they were done and then FF through most of it. I don't think most of them wanted to be on camera and it showed. At least once per stream one of them would say they don't particularly like this genre. I do want details on the state of the game on a somewhat regular basis and I'd be happy to read them in a discord post or watch a quick youtube showcase of what's coming soon (game footage only please.) But tying to what I said earlier this week, how they handled this is just more (and now expected) disappointment from Frontier. Waiting all month until the day everyone is expecting the stream and THEN announcing they aren't doing them anymore? They could've done that in last month's stream and frustrated a lot less people. This wreaks of "we didn't really get done with anything for PC2 this month because we're focusing on other things at the moment. We'll get around to it when we feel like it and have no actual roadmap." Two things can be true: The Planet series is one of, if not the best sandbox franchise but it is absolutely in the wrong hands at this moment. And yes, the same can be said about nearly every game out there which is why I'm focusing my anger on this one. I really miss the energy and enthusiasm of the devs during the first 3 or so years of Planco 1 but I definitely feel those days are long gone.
  22. Thank you all so much for all the nice comments, i was realy happy to read such nice feedbacks regarding my creations. especially because sometimes we get so critical with viewing our own creations but this def shows me im doing something right with the project :D i think so far ive spent about 1600 hours in this park project alone, not only building but also watching the park functioning and guests enjoying the rides :) then i it will be gondlheim first! I have some pictures to share as the mainstreet now is gone with the new buildings starting to move in. i will share a full detailed tour when everything is set in stone! The next post will then focus on a detailed showcase of Gondlheim. im excited to hear what you guys think of it :) Again thank you so much for so many interactions! i dont think i had this many responses in 7 months on my frontier thread. i realy appreciate this a lot PS: a small Teaser of an (non-functional) Attraction coming soon to Explorers Hub

  25. I've just returned from seeing the new "Walt Disney-A Magical Life" at Disneyland. I give the show mixed reviews, but the displays in the Opera House were quite impressive. Tons of old photos and renderings of Disneyland over its 70 years of operation, original furnishings from Walt's apartment over the Fire Station, and a great display featuring the history of Audio Animatronics featuring the original bird who ushered guests into the Enchanted Tiki Room (a replica, though). But what I really found interesting were the very early plans for the layout of the park, most of which have never been revealed to the public and have been in storage at the Disney Archives. I figured I'd share photos of these here, as I'm sure a few members would appreciate seeing them. They range from very early modest layouts to be originally built at the Burbank Studios, to plans that got larger, more ambitious, and became closer and closer to the final plan for Disneyland built in Anaheim, CA in 1955. To truly see all the details, (if your browser supports this) right click on each image and open in a new tab. Or download them and open in any photo editor. Then you can blow them up to full size. Enjoy
  26. Hi everyone, I got back from a 2 week holiday yesterday and to my surprise Frontier closed their PC2 forum in the meantime! I really hope this is not the first sign of support and development for PC2 getting worse. Anyway, glad to join here and to follow things over here!
  27. Hi everyone! Hopefully found my new home here after Frontier closed down the forums (big mistake) and also banned me on Steam without any explanation or way to overturn. Looking forward to good and mature conversation here.
  28. I was able to get in one quick mention of ParkCrafters just before they closed the door, but had to leave off the '.com' so as to draw less attention.
  29. Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park - Recreation! Hello! Xec is back with a brand new project! I want to express my gratitude for your support and kind words about Beachside Bay, and for how much fun it was to share it with you all. Here is a new park project which is a recreation of Denver's famous Elitch Gardens! Elitch Gardens opened on May 1, 1890, in Denver's West Highland neighborhood, originally serving as a zoological garden and cultural venue founded by John and Mary Elitch. Following John's death in 1891, Mary Elitch became the first woman in the U.S. to own and manage a zoo, and she continued to expand the park's offerings, including the Elitch Theatre, which hosted renowned performers like Sarah Bernhardt and Douglas Fairbanks Sr. In 1994, due to space constraints, the park relocated downtown, reopening in 1995 with updated attractions while preserving its historic charm. Today, Elitch Gardens remains a cherished Denver landmark, though future redevelopment plans, such as the River Mile project, may eventually transform the site. I wanted to preserve the spirit and keep the park alive in RCT3, as it is part of my hometown and one of the best places to visit. If the park does get relocated and changed or closed permanently, then it will always be here for everyone to see! Here is the main entrance with its first phase of construction. I hope you all enjoy this new project, and I am honored to recreate one of my childhood parks! Cheers! Xecronius Here is a YouTube Shorts video of the park in real life that I created during my last visit!
  30. Resort Hotel DLC: A set to build a working hotel with staff, etc. I doubt this will happen. Expanded Water Park set: Building water parks was a big addition to the game, and yet there is so much missing. The new Planet Coaster Logo even added a wave to the planet. Seems reasonable that there should be more content devoted to this. All the old DLC sets, but expanded with new content. Kiddy ride set. Midway set with games and arcades. Water vehicles like rowboats, paddle boats, canoes, etc. Live shows like bandstands, animal shows, circus acts, theaters and stadium seating. Modern, high tech attractions, seen at the Disney and Universal parks. System for making advanced Fireworks shows (for Wolfpaw) Fountain shows, Drone Shows. All the Wonder World attractions.😁
  31. There are some very creative people here. My past hobbies have included model building (Wonder World, Disneyland Main Street, Big Thunder Mountain, and original designs too) drawing, painting, designing computer RPG games, playing and composing music for the keyboard, and running online forums 😜. Today, besides building theme parks in Planet Coaster, I visit all the theme parks and attractions in Southern California on a regular basis, especially enjoying the special events at each park. I am an avid CRPG player and have been since the 90's. I am fascinated by the history and development of computer/video games. I own literally thousands of games, and enjoy playing ancient games as well as modern ones. I am also a mega movie buff, and also into the history of film. I've watched 1000's of movies, dating back from the silent films to the present. I am fascinated by how the movie industry has evolved from the early B&W silents, to sound, to color, how the Hays Code and Legion of Decency affected the industry and how it changed once the code was abolished, the development of visual effects in film, and how the movies today are total crap compared to the days of old. And there's also home projects, ranging from setting up a mini home theater, to upgrading the bathroom, kitchen, keeping up the yard, and painting what needs painting. These are not the favorite of my hobbies, but satisfying nonetheless.
  32. Has it been 2 years already? The site looks great and I look forward to many more years. I hope to see the community continue to grow.
  33. Hey guys! This thread is about my new RCT 3 park. I will try to post updates of the progress regularly. That depends on how much time i will be able to spend on building. If you have any suggestions and remarks, let me hear them! In the video below you can see a short preview of the park.
  34. Happy Halloween! And what would be more appropriate for such a macabre day than a stroll through The Haunted Forest ! For those with a low tolerance, there is also a short-cut that will take you directly to the Emerald City... You never know who might be spying on you as you walk along... The mists roll in and you can hear low growls and even a howl in the distance...at least I think it's in the distance...perhaps it's time to walk a little faster? There's yet another shortcut to the EC...how thoughtful of them to add signage directing us there! However, we'll bravely journey on down the Yellow Brick Road... The track for the Emerald Flyer monorail passes overhead... There's a fork in the road that leads to the Falls Overlook on the left...we certainly don't want to overlook that! The YBR will continue on to Winkie Town and The Nome King's Lair... Abandoned mines dot this area...but those who now live here know better than to try to enter the underground realms... Well, "Falls Overlook" turned out to be an appropriate name anyways... A creepy old house next to the falls... Just past that is the back escape (er...entrance...) from to the Nome King's Lair... I don't think we'll go further, while I can appreciate a nice backdoor entrance like anyone, I sometimes prefer the front door myself... So we'll backtrack to the Yellow Brick Road again...looks like a nice picnic area across the river... Restrooms and a landing for the water transport is just ahead... The landing is plain but certainly serves it purpose... A Fortune Teller's cottage tells us we're still in the domain of the Wicked Witch of the West... However let there be no doubt that THIS part of the Haunted Forest (or at least what's under it...) is the domain of the infamous Nome King (even if the Wicked Witch if the East's old billboard still advertises that this land is for sale...). Here's that picnic area we spotted earlier...just missing any picnic tables for some reason... A side path leads to Mombi's Potions... Even disposed witches who were former rulers of Oz need a side-gig to help cover expenses in their retirement! Figures there would be spooky mists if there's a witch around... And there's the old bat herself...ready and willing to sign autographs for a few Oz Green Pennies each in between cooking up batches of Frog Juice...yum! After a bucket of Cauldron Corn washed down with that Frog Juice, we're ready to explore the Nome King's Lair...we're at the main gate...dare we enter? Like the whims of certain other wanna-be rulers, the Nome King's statue out front is grossly exaggerated...he's actually only 4´2"...in heels... The Nome King is a huge fan of conspiracy theories...the latest one being that Chicken Eggs are deadly to Nomes...thus no hens allowed on the premises! Whimsies, Growlywogs and Phanfasm's may enter only through the back door, but only if they didn't pack an egg-salad sandwich in their lunchbox. Who doesn't love a good cliffhanger? Or loath a bad one? In either case, we'll leave you hanging while we head on in... Hope we'll see you inside...
  35. How to Record in High Resolution in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 --- Looking to record RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 (RCT3) in a resolution higher than the in-game camera? Look no further as this tutorial will show you how to record a lag-free high-resolution RCT3 video! Hey everyone, this has been a long-requested tutorial on how to record RCT3 in a resolution that is higher than the in-game's camera. Below you'll find steps on how to produce a high-quality video from RCT3 like this. I'll go over everything that is needed and the process you need to do to achieve this. Before we jump into all of that, just want to give a huge shoutout to @Wilhelm1407 for showing me how to do this and for bringing this to my attention - it has completely re-invigorated RCT3 for me and many others! If you have any questions on this tutorial, feel free to respond to this thread and I"ll do my best to help out! With all of that out of the way, onto the tutorial! Chapter 01 - The Essentials Here's what you'll need to record RCT3 in high resolution: RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 (Duh) - This doesn't have to be a specific version, it can be Vanilla, Soaked, Gold, Platinum, Complete Edition, from your CD, from Steam, etc. As long as you can open up the game you'll be able to record it! Cheat Engine - This is software that is needed that will alter RCT3 so we can record it lag-free. This software is not optional and is essential to have a lag-free final video from RCT3. A word of warning: If you are an active PC gamer and play online multiplayer games or games that do not allow cheating such as PvP games, be sure to turn this program OFF when you are playing those games. They can detect this software as a third-party cheating software and they can ban you from playing those types of games! This software is available on both Windows and Mac as well. Any Screen Recorder - This is the software that will record the game for you, it does not have to be anything specific just as long as it records your screen. I personally use Nvidia GeForce Experience's Shadowplay/Overlay to record my screen since it comes with my Nvidia graphics card but there are plenty of free screen recording softwares out there. Some recommendations are OBS, clipchamp, Xsplit, and Windows built-in snipping tool recorder. Video Editing Software - The video editing software you use must have the capabilities to speed up and slow down your video for this to work. I personally use Adobe Premiere Pro but there are plenty of video editing softwares out there for you to use. Just make sure it has the capability to speed up and slow down your video! Chapter 02 - Setting Up RCT3 for Recording In order to get a lag-free video, you'll need to set up RCT3 properly with Cheat Engine before you can start recording. This process is really simple, just follow the below steps: Install Cheat Engine Open up RCT3 and load a park file to something you'd like to record. Open up Cheat Engine, you should see a screen like this: Load RCT3 in Cheat Engine. By clicking on the monitor icon highlighted in red, you can select a process to load into Cheat Engine. Select RCT3 from the process list as shown below: Click on Open to load RCT3's process into Cheat Engine. Once RCT3's process is now in Cheat Engine, you'll see it displayed on the top of the program showing RCT3.exe We're going to leave all of these settings how they are, the only thing we will be turning on is 'Enable Speedhack' as shown below: Enabling Speedhack allows us to control the speed of the game, with 1.0 being 100% (normal speed). To achieve a lag-free video, we will need to slow the game down while we record our screen. This allows the game to 'think and process' on each frame so the video will be lag-free instead of having random lag spikes in the middle of our video. This especially works well with mixmaster shows so we can match the music to the effects without having it be off-synced. Change the speed to something lower. For this example, we'll go around 25% of the normal speed of the game, which is 0.25. So if you change the 1.0 under Speed to 0.25, you'll notice the game will run a lot slower. Be sure to change this number and hit apply only right before you've set up your recording routes and angles in the game! Once the game starts running slower, open up your screen recording software and start recording your screen. Once you've recorded everything you like, stop your screen recorder and uncheck 'Enable Speedhack' or close Cheat Engine entirely. You can now exit out of RCT3 as well, the rest of the magic will now be in your video editing software. Chapter 03 - Speeding Up Our Video Once you've finished recording, you'll notice your recorded footage looks great... but is running at the speed that the game was, which is very slow. We now have to bring that video into a video editing software to speed it back up. The steps used below will be what I do to achieve this in Adobe Premiere Pro, keep in mind this process may be different for you if you use a different video editing software. Open up your video editing software. Create a new project and import your recorded video from RCT3 into your video editing software's project that you created. Add the footage into the timeline in the video editing software. Right-click your footage and select Speed/Duration In the Speed/Duration window that pops up, we now need to do some simple math to bring our 25% footage up to 100%. So if we recorded at 25%, we need to multiply our footage by 4 to bring it up to 100%, which in our case would be 400%. Render out your video and your final result should be a high-quality, lag-free recording from RCT3! Chapter 04 - Final Thoughts and Some Tips This is a pretty simple and straightforward process on how to achieve high-quality RCT3 recordings but there are a couple of pointers I'd like to point out if you're looking to try this. Since you are recording your screen, your final video's resolution will be at the mercy of your monitor's resolution size. So if you are looking for a 4K video from RCT3, you will need to own and record RCT3 on a 4K monitor. This may also be dependent on your screen recording software so be sure to check your software's settings before recording! The FPS or refresh rate of your final video is also at the mercy of the FPS/refresh rate of your monitor. If you're looking for a 60 FPS RCT3 video, you will need to record your screen at that refresh rate or higher. This may also be dependent on your screen recording software so be sure to check your software's settings before recording! Be sure to exit out of any other software or chatting programs like Discord or Steam before recording! Since you are recording your screen, anything that pops up on your screen WILL be in the final video. Save yourself a headache and exit out of those applications before recording instead of having to re-record your video because so and so is now playing a game on Steam! If you are looking to record audio from RCT3 as well, I don't have much experience with that since I use this method to record pyro shows which I just then add the music in post-production. I do know the audio does get glitched out when you slow the game down so this method may not work well if you're looking to record audio from the game. As stated before, be sure to have Cheat Engine exited when you are not recording! This program does count as a third-party cheating software and will be flagged by many popular online games. Don't get yourself banned if you play those games! Be sure to check your video editing software's final render settings before rendering out your video! If you recorded in 4K, make sure your final video is being rendered out in 4K and in the proper FPS. Many times people record in high quality but forget to check their render settings and have a lower quality output video and are scratching their heads wondering what happened. The slower your game is, the higher quality and less lag you'll have in your final video. If you are recording at 25% speed for example but are still experiencing a few lag spikes in the final video due to so much going on in your game, you can lower that speed even more to get a more lag-free video. Keep in mind the slower the game runs, the longer the recording will take and the bigger the final video file size will be! I personally would not go anywhere below 10% speed, which is 0.1. I've tried recording at 0.01 but after such a long time recording, my screen recorder gave up! Keep in mind you will also need to multiply whatever speed you recorded your game to get to 100% speed in your video editing software. So if you recorded at 10%, you'll need to speed up your footage by 10 times, or at 1,000%. That's about it for this tutorial! Again if you have any questions, feel free to ask them below and I'll do my best to answer them. Have fun recording in higher quality from RCT3 and I'm excited to see what people create with this method!
  36. I don't have much to say yet, but I have recently gotten back into RCT3 and this is a new project I started! I don't have a full storyline ready yet, but the general idea is a new Six Flags park being built in the early 2000's when they were funneling tons of money into their parks. I hope to update regularly! For now, here is what I have completed so far!
  37. This beast is finally unleashed....... What a learning experience buliding this show was. From managing in-game memory to figuring out how to fill and then film an entire parkmap, this "bite" kicked my ass. After 100 hours, Bite O' Fang is officially done, recorded, and put to sleep. Below is a continuous "chopper cam" cut of the show, since there is no "golden angle" to film from. Huge thanks to @Dumaan089 and @jaronimo.mov for their gorgeous fountains and endless inspiration.
  38. "They're baaaaaack!" No, we didn't wander off to fix a sandwich and then completely forgot about this...well, at least I didn't, I can't vouch for Citytrader... We had to break the park up into multiple benches again, which allowed us to add the amount of details we like to have (or at least the amount of crap I always seem to tack on...). The first bench is nearing completion, featuring the entrance areas, Main Street Kansas and most of Munchkinland. And forget that part where I said I didn't want to make a bunch of TMTK items for this project...I'm over 400 pieces already... *sigh* Anyways, we'll soon be taking a tour of the first bench, many of the things shown previously above remain...many of the things previously have changed. This screens shows just one - the new entrance centerpiece. As Citytrader always mumbles "there's more to come!". So you still have time to make other commitments before we get started!
  39. More of the pharaoh's tresaure, being dug up.
  40. You gave me a wonderful idea! Well too bad, you're gonna have to wait because.... ...is roaring into the sequence. Bite O' Fang is a pseudo-tribute to the Lunar New Year, and as Anon pointed out above, 2024 is the year of the Dragon. Following Bite O' Fang will be Bite O' Dust, and the frequently-delayed and changed "Bites" series will conclude!
  41. Just released the madhouse CFRs. happy new year!
  42. Welcome to your new home for all things RCT3! Hey everyone, we have some extremely exciting news to share with you today! I'm pleased to officially and formally announce that the migration of all the downloads hosted on the CSDepot have been moved to ParkCrafters! For those unaware, ShyGuys World forums was a place where RCT3 creators would share their projects and upload their creations, custom content, and more for many years. The CSDepot was a subsection of ShyGuys World that hosted all of these creations. ShyGuys World officially closed its doors in June of 2023 and the CSDepot will close on December 8th, 2023. With the help of some extremely awesome people here on ParkCrafters, we took it up to move everything over to ParkCrafters before the CSDepot closed down to help preserve all the custom content that creators built over the many years that ShyGuys World was active. I'm extremely excited to announce that this migration of all files hosted on the CSDepot have successfully been moved to ParkCrafters! The history of all these content creators, custom content, scenery, mods, files - and to an extension, the RCT3 community as a whole - will live on for many more years now! I would like to give a huge thank you to the people who helped make this possible! I was originally going to do this just by myself but with the massive amount of content to move over, I knew I couldn't do it alone. The people who joined our CSDepot Strike Team worked tirelessly and efficiently to make sure everything was moved over before the CSDepot closure date. Please assist me in giving a huge shoutout and thanks to: @Knight Rider - For his assistance in moving custom scenery and park files over so quickly! @Kablary- For his quick migration of moving custom scenery over and then helping others move their files over! @Wilhelm1407- For the many categories that he helped move over, he also took on extra work once completed! @Cody- For his quick dedication and continued support, he moved over a total of 20 custom scenery pages! @RobertaME- Despite having slower Internet, she took the initiative in downloading everything instead and uploading in bulk to make sure everything was moved over! @linux_doggo - For all the work she did in helping move over custom scenery files! I can't thank this team enough, you all have helped the entire RCT3 community more than you realize. Many others who aren't even a part of ParkCrafters thank you all! As a reward for all of your hard work, you all have been awarded an extremely rare badge on ParkCrafters. This is the only way to obtain this badge, so consider yourselves holders of one of the most rarest of items on ParkCrafters! Thank you so much once again for all of your hard work! With all of that being said, all files are now up and available for download! Please note that there may be some misplaced files in categories or duplicates of files, over time we will be combing through the downloads section, cleaning things up, and organizing them all better. We firstly just wanted all the files uploaded before the CSDepot closed down. On behalf of the entire ParkCrafters staff team and the CSDepot Strike Team, welcome to your new home for all things RCT3! Check out our RCT3 downloads section today and start creating and downloading! *Updates to the download sections, organization, and more will be coming soon. Keep an eye out for future community updates for more information on this!
  43. Hi guys, I'm still working on the mad house. I'm working on a themed version too, with some lamps and a center handrail, looks a bit like villa volta.Shot0010.bmp No, I'm not planning any CT at the moment. I've a CTR in the works, for @Cody.
  44. I LOVE ALL OF IT! Thank you for your tireless dedication to the site, Wolfie! You've built a wonderful home for all of us theme park sim misfits. Simfits? I sincerely hope more of the old guard make their way over to ParkCrafters (you know who you are if you're reading this and you're not a member). But the group that has settled in and called this "home" is an awesome bunch of creative souls! Super great to see so much consistent activity across almost every forum. And 1M+ site visits?! That's nuts!!! Challenge accepted.
  45. We have some exciting news for you all today - please help me welcome @Cody to the ParkCrafters' staff team as our first moderator! Cody has been an active and valued member of not only our community but numerous communities centered around both real-world and virtual theme parks for years. His passion for park crafting is always kept alive by the numerous projects that he continues to update even after all these years, sharing them and promoting discussion and creativity across the entire community as a whole. Being a moderator on ShyGuy's World, Cody also has the experience and level-headed spirit that we look for in a moderator. We are excited to have him step up to take on this important role in helping us maintain a welcoming and respectful community to help bolster creativity and discussion around what we all share and love. Please extend your congratulations to Cody on his new position! I can only express gratitude for his willingness to dedicate time and effort to help make our community even better. I also wanted to extend a big thank you to everyone who applied to become a moderator - we got more applications than I thought we would! With so many people eager to join our staff team to help better our community, I may look for a second moderator to add to the team sometime in the near future. Again, thank you to everyone who applied - it was a really difficult decision as all candidates were perfect fits! If anyone has any questions or needs assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to any of our staff members, including Cody. Congratulations once again to Cody, we look forward to seeing what the future of this community holds with you on board!
  46. Well over 25 years and you STILL haven't gotten rid of me! Much like three day old leftover burritos, I keep coming back up I guess. I tend to linger on... RCT Station, RCT Depot, Atari Forums I, SGW, Atari Forums II, Frontier and assorted others I don't recall...exterminators have been kept busy all these years. Yes, I'm living proof that old people can still....um...er...what was I saying? Who are you whippersnappers and what the hell am I doing here? Get off my lawn!
  47. This has always been one of my favorite screenshots that I've taken in RCT3.
  48. Ah yes, the famous thread from Shyguy's World makes it over here! Don't have anything current but have some older screenshots that I can share. Once I make some new stuff I'll be sure to start sharing! I can continue the windmill trend if you'd like ? Here's an older shot for a show I was going to create. It was going to be a bit different than a traditional show and be shot in the daytime with colored smoke effects:
