Hi everyone! I'm ChicagoZohan. I am not actually from Chicago - my screen name is a reference to Left 4 Dead, haha. I've been playing park builders forever - in first grade my best friend got me into Rollercoaster Tycoon and Age of Empires 2, and I've kept both of those interests to this day. That said, I played these games (Zoo Tycoon was by far my favorite as a kid) as strategy games first and and creative games second. I never really played RCT3 (my wife played that as a kid so when we were in college we briefly played it together, but then....) All that changed with Planet Coaster. I became a creative builder first and a strategy gamer second, at least in these sorts of games. My Planet Coaster career mostly consisted of a single crappy sandbox park - basically a Game of Thrones themed Disneyland budget park, with lands themed after the different kingdoms. It was incredibly crappy, with absolutely nonsense of scale, copy pasted square buildings everywhere and guests clipping through fake path, but it was mine. I fell in love with piece by piece building. Then Planet Zoo came out. As a Zoo Tycoon fan, I was super into it, and still am. I developed my love of small, somewhat realistic builds in this game, and found the BroNation discord where I doubled down on that style. I also played with the ZSU discord for a while, as it helped guide my builds. I made two fairly extensive builds for ZSU and a few halfhearted attempts at an LA Zoo inspired build, as well as some other half finished projects here and there. Eventually Planet Coaster 2 came out and with its new tools made Planet Zoo feel painful to play. I've been working on a single park in this game, I've had kids since Planet Zoo and so this is a theme park dedicated to my daughter. Eventually it will be a Disney style park with worlds themed after all of her favorite shows; for now, it is a Paw Patrol themed water park. But my current and so far favorite build is in Jurassic World Evolution 3. See, the JWE games never felt anything like the Planet games. I never got very creative with them. And boy, did I want to. When JWE1 was first announced 8 years ago, I thought it would be the game of my dreams: Planet Coaster with dinosaurs. I was wrong. That game didn't come out then... But it has come out now. My current build is an LA Zoo inspired Jurassic Park build. I'll start a thread to share it soon, having been summoned here by ShyGuy over in the BroNation discord.

My most irrelevant video yet? I expect I'll be posting updates to Primeval World in the Other Games forum, unless we get a dedicated JWE3 forum here, which I doubt.
  3. Hey folks! Big update on this one. I high-key locked in on this park over the past few days (which really means that I became a hermit and didn't talk to anyone), so let's dive in. First up, I built a train station and began filling the dead space leading up to it. The station isn't of much use right now since the train isn't a circuit yet, but it's nice to have the building there. What's been more interesting is rest of the space leading up to the station. I've used this opportunity to finally play around with the new Restaurants, and man oh man do I love these suckers. We're gonna get a lot more of these before we're done with this park, I've really fallen in love with them. This one has indoor and outdoor seating, and the back patio is right in the nook of the railroad, so you can get a good look at the train as it passes by. Just up the path, there was a small corner empty and in need of something. I didn't really have a good use for the space, so I began a small nature trail of sorts. It has some benches and a few large boulders to help seclude it from the rest of the park. I think this is going to continue on the other side, but I'm not sure yet. Time will tell. Next up, over by the wooden coaster, I've added another restaurant! Now that I've learned some things from the first one, I was able to plan this one a little more, and I think it came out really great. Making good use of the path stamps, we have an octagonal balcony where most of the seating is overlooking the wooden coaster as it zips by. Oughta make for some entertaining meals! I've also started playing with lighting! You'll for sure have noticed the street lamps in these photos, and I'm slowly making my way around the park to light up each attraction and building. For the most part, this is being done with scenery lighting, but this is also being accomplished with strategically placed spotlights that get hidden in a variety of manners: rooftops, overhangs, in rocks, on supports, etc. All the tricks are being used here. This is still very much a WIP, so feel free to give any tips you have. That's all for now! Next time we'll have to talk about this big green box... ๐Ÿ˜‰ - StickyGum32

Under the passageway we find a path leading down to The Ugly Duckling Swan Boats... The Mill House Tavern...hearty fare and root beers... Heading back to the main street...Lady Cluck's Housewares... Friar Tuck's Burgers and Brew... The Castle in the distance... Sir Mickey's Gifts... Thumper's Children's Wear... Restrooms on the right... Looking back the way we came... Again, apologies for the muddy in-game textures! Until next time...

For anyone interested in the process that goes into creating these videos. Over 40 video clips, dozens of stills, sound effects, music tracks, over 80 lines of dialogue, and special effects like green-screening in characters from other games. How nuts am I?

Had to add a small flat ride at the back of the island to help lure guests onto the island and walk the pathways. Some of the shops helps, but adding a few rides really brought them in.

And the story continues... Wanda and Scooter rush over to Administration to inform them (him) of their startling discovery inside the freezer. ... The newly hired head of security, Chief White. Security cameras have been installed throughout the park, closely monitored at all times. White loves his job. Also added is the security check point. Any watermelons being snuck into the park will be immediately confiscated. Wanda and Scooter bravely approach the Security Department.
  18. Hi everyone! Not sure if y'all remember me but I am MGL from the vPyro and creator's lounge days. It's been so many years since I've touched RCT3 but I just came across this community and I'm so happy that it's still going strong! I remember doing firework and fountain shows and it was a huge part of my life when I was still in school. Nowadays, I do music production (specifically trance) for fun but I still have this urge to maybe return to my old roots of making firework shows again. I just have to go back and remember how to do custom sets again. Also, Every time I hear a piece of music I still imagine a firework and fountain show dancing to it in my head lol. Here is my firework youtube channel where I would upload all my shows. So many memories making these. https://www.youtube.com/@Mgl567

The First Aid Center sign has been changed from a free-standing one to this more permanent one. More artwork hanging on the hallway walls. The examination room Down the hall is a small restroom. I've made so many of these, I'm considering changing the park's name to Toilet World. Backstage area behind the First Aid Center/Sandwich Port building. In case any guest is badly injured, an ambulance is available to rush them to the hospital. But nothing like that would ever happen to a guest at a Wonder park.

The RCT3 version of the park had a racing coaster named Racing Roller this building would have been used this as the station, it is a repurposed building form the original fairgrounds that now is part of the queue for Roller's Revenge. RMC refurbishment. Another bit of history in the shadows of the RMC. The old Lake Lodge has been here for years.

  25. Hey everyone! Life has kept me a little busy (I'm about to go back out on the ocean again soon), but I've got a small update for you here. This is a simple but necessary update in my opinion. No huge changes per se, but changes that are definitely helping to tidy up some loose ends in the park. First and foremost, we have a new flat: a Ferris Wheel. It's tucked over by the wing coaster, and provides an excellent view of the area from the tree tops. I also redesigned the station for the wooden coaster, which has resulted in a better design overall, and a slightly smaller queue line (so less peeps are held up waiting on the ride instead of enjoying other offerings). Finally, I've started planning a train route. I do love having a train as a transit means for the park, and this one weaves around and through the mountain that houses the rapids and mine train. It's also given me the opportunity to take a section of the rapids and turn it into a canyon river, which came out looking really nice! More to come soon! - StickyGum32

The Sandwich Port is a great spot to grab lunch in the Waterfront area of Expo 3000. Animatronic droids take guest's orders. The condiment bar The menu has a nice selection of sandwiches to choose from. Outdoor dining along the water's edge.

I'm really impressed at your skills making these videos...and you sense of humor that goes into them. Truthfully, I couldn't tell that many scenes were green-screened, they don't stand out as being made that way. And Wanda the rock star was amazingly well done!

One of the expansions of Highland Lakes that took space from the parking lots was adding the B&M Invert known as Fire Fighter. It only took a small part of the lot on the outside of the train tracks. Engine Co. No. 2 is not the original station for the ride, this was another upgrade that came later. The coaster celebrates the importance of firefighters and paramedics in California. Exiting through the gift shop I have been to lazy to finish...

Is it just me, or does Wanda's voice sound even more grating and annoying than usual? I'm relieved to see that Julian doesn't have the hots for Wanda. "That Dr. Hannah Lecter gal seems nice..." 'Seems' being the operative word, I'd wager. The 'plot' of the video kept getting sidetracked into weirdness, which added to the fun! ๐Ÿ‘
  32. Love the Rotor! Is that a mop and bucket on the right? If so, how appropriate for this ride! To borrow from RCT3: "[Yeeurghh]". In a previous iteration of this ride you placed a 'Round-Up' ride inside and set it to spin, but not tilt up. Is that the case here?

  36. As threatened, er...promised...we now will explore Fantasyland. Now there's a name that the Imagineers should be proud of - cleverly combining 'fantasy' and 'land'...better copyright that real quick before someone tries to copy it. There are three ways to access Fantasyland - one by the Mickey Mouse Park Railroad, or one crossing over a bridge from the Fort Wilderness area, and another by land from Old MacDonald's Farm... Over the bridge... Or by land...just don't wake the dragon... We'll take the second route, the dragon is old and needs his frequent naps. I've nicknamed him "citytrader" for that reason... A festive village awaits us past the portcullis... On the left is Wise Owl Books... Just past it is Lil' Jack Horner Pie Co....thumbs not included. A little further along on the right is Little John's Food Court... On the left is our first attraction - Prince John's Bumpy Thingy which is a Whip Ride (only because the Dodgem's was too big for that structure...) Then we come to a side street on the right, on the corner is My Lady's Gowns and upstairs is Alan A. Dale's Music Shop... Then Merlin's Magic Shop... There's another entrance on the backside of Little John's Food Court here... Mad Madame Mim's Charm School... Maid Marion's Bridal Shoppe... Next door is Robin Hood's Archery where the young at heart of all ages can shoot deadly arrows...hopefully at the target and not each other... Across from that is Sir Goofy's Buffet...with all it's mac & cheese and chicken fingers goodness. Sorry, hadn't set the clock to noon when I took this screenshot, which is why the sign is so washed out, much like the lettuce at the salad bar inside... On the other side of Maid Marian's Bridal Shoppe we'll find Geppetto's Toy Shop...in the background is the other entrance to Fantasyland across the bridge from Fort Wilderness... Somebody's conscience is by the front door... Geppetto and his boys having a good time... We'll pause here...(no applause necessary nor encouraged!) (The size of this park really plays havoc with the textures on my computer, even when turned up high. As you can see some of the in-game pieces drop down in quality while the TMTK stuff remains fairly nice...I have removed everything outside the actual park boundaries on this bench, but it's pretty much now finished - thankfully!)

With Mr. Head's mystical powers, he could be anywhere. Maybe the hearts in Julian's eyes aren't for Wanda... I don't judge. To me, the Tower looks like the Atari "Fugi" logo. Was that intentional? I like the flamingo exhibit; impressive! The plot is getting thicker and thicker.

Back to "As the Animal World Turns" ... Meanwhile... The Flamingo Exhibit is complete. The 387 foot tall Observation Tower. The tower was inspired by 2 existing structures... The Martyr's Monument in Algiers, and the Monuments des Martyrs in West Africa. Wanda and Scooter take some time off to contemplate on their next move.

This would have been the original entrance of the park, it is also supposed to have been a former pavilion from the time when the park operated as a fairgrounds. It houses rest rooms and some food stands these days This building served as ticket boothes for many years, it was moved out front of the entrance building when the park changed over to one entrance price for unlimited rides. When the park entrance was moved to about where the current entrance is this was moved back almost to where it would have been back when the park was small and each ride required tickets and it was repurposed for more food vending. Some of the historic structures that still exist today still serve purposes very similar to when they were build such as the carousel house. Another pavilion now houses a Himalaya ride The cafe has been in this same spot for many years. It has been added on to a couple of times. The original entrance to what was a show pavilion for livestock shows has served several purpose, for a time there was a coaster here that used this as part of the station after a fire destroyed most of the original show pavilion. The coaster was called Dragon's Lair and was an Arrow looping coaster. after it was decommissioned the pavilion was seating arena was restored to almost the same footprint as the original, a more modern entrance was added along with other upgrades to allow for more flexible uses. We now host a circus most of the year. This is the new entrance. Another historic building that still stands houses a sit down restaurant. The Whip is yet another historic remnant of the old park. Some time ago I mentioned there was a Engine Company Number 2 in the park. Here it is... it is a rather substantial upgrade to the station this coaster had when it was originally built and we will get to this one, maybe in the next update. It is part of that process of this park trying to transition from pure amusement park to more of a theme park.

Well, say what you will about Scooter, but he really has 'wandering' down pat! Did I hear Wanda 'pass wind' when the buzzer sounded as she attempted to go through the check point? That must've been a pretty big flask Wanda found. She took numerous big gulps from it. Shyguy, remember to thank Wanda for making the video for us. (If she isn't passed out.)
  41. We left off at the entrance to Old MacDonald's Farm...another Imagineer original name! (Although I think it was also called "Grandma's Farm' on one of the original maps...) Not sure if this was meant to be a real functioning farm...or rather a collection of fake animal statues. Certainly the crops would likely have been real. So I split the difference and used TMTK animal figures that aren't animated...smart, huh? The cow goes 'moo', the sheep goes 'baa', the goat goes 'feed me damn it'... A scarecrow guards a crop of pumpkins, corn, and some unidentified yellow stuff...yum! The old Farm House Buffet...I forgot to place the sign before I took the screenshot... Look at the size of them there apples...or melons...or dyed ostrich eggs (they certainly weren't laid by them chickens...). Available at the little Farmers Market... Farmer MacDonald doesn't look that old, but he has a nice crop of watermelons and grapes going there... Looking back the way we just came, the path on the left leads back to Fort Wilderness... That concludes this short visit (stop clapping!), our next part of the park to visit is undergoing last minute (okay...last WEEK...) details - FANTASYLAND.
  42. Thank you! I really wanted a woodie that felt a bit wild, but not aggressive. I think it strikes a nice balance. Speaking of the woodie, this area has not only gotten a massive upgrade in scenery (read: trees), but it also now has a new neighbor. That's right, the wing coaster from the top of this thread finally has a proper home in the park. It's new landscaping has really changed the feel of the coaster, so I've also included an updated POV below. I've also added this cute little food stall place overlooking the rapids big drop. Just a place to grab a quick bite to eat before running off to the rest of the park. That's it on this one! Not quite sure what's coming up next, but I'm sure it'll be fun. Stay tuned! - StickyGum32

How to repurpose an 1849 mining town, when you decided to build a full park off that theme and the small area in one of your other California parks now looks kind of lame and redundant. I never got around to this in RCT3 but I did have the idea for the Warehouse District that far back. When I started the park in PC1 it was part of the plan day one to go ahead and build the area out as if it were a re-theme of the old section. Air Express is a launched coaster, similar to Superman The Escape that until recently was at Magic Mountain, in the RCT3 park it was themed as a dual ride with one side being Outlaw, the other side being Sharif, we sort of just ditched the dualling idea because, the ride goes up, the ride goes down, not exactly a great dual anyway. Whoever thought it was, has been sacked. Chicago Pie Company, so named because deep dish is served here and everyone knows deep dish is not Pizza, its a casserole but Chicago Casserole Company is just not a great name, people would think they served leftovers that feather canned tuna if you called it that. The joint was on the other side of town square in the RCT3 park in an area that also has been completely rethemed as something else, it seemed like a good fit for this area so, there it is. We borrowed from Pizzeria Uno in Chicago for part of the exterior. Wait till you see this at Christmas...

๐ŸŽถ Wanda and Julian sittin' in a tree. K-I-S-S...๐ŸŽตWell, that's what Wanda thinks anyway. So, Mr. White enters the story. Is he gonna be a good guy or a bad guy this time? We'll know soon enough I guess. I love his yellow "keeping my eyes on you" poster. No watermelons, huh? Does that apply to 'personal-size' watermelons too? What if I paint a personal-size watermelon pale yellow and tell them it's a honeydew melon?

The third main area of Expo 3000 is the Waterfront District, featuring the Waterfront Restaurant. The Waterfront Restaurant is Wonder World's big family-focused eatery, featuring a standard theme-park menu with reasonable prices. Nothing fancy, but affordable for families on a budget.
