Technically, though not its intended purpose, there would have been bacteria both inside and outside of the German's A-4 test rocket, (the first man-made object to fly above the Karman Line) making bacteria the first organic life man put into space.

The correct way of putting the question (unless it is a trick question) would be, "What was the first living creature to be intentionally sent into outer space?" :^Þ

I never thought of that, but it certainly would be true. They also didn't have the same level of 'clean rooms' where rockets were built, so naturally bacteria would be present and easily would have gone along for the ride! Excellent point!

Correct answer to Question 136 - The Universe

What was the first living creature to be sent into outer space?

B: Fruit Flies

Correct answer to Question 137 - The Universe

True or False

Every planet in the solar system can fit between the Earth and the Moon.

A: True
The Moon seems pretty far away, but is it distant enough that you can fit all the planets between the Earth and the Moon? The answer is yes, but only sometimes! The Moon’s orbit around the Earth is elliptical (not a perfect circle). When the Moon is at its closest approach (perigee), the planets don’t fit inside the orbit. However, when the Moon is at is furthest distance (apogee), all the planets (plus the dwarf planets Pluto and Eris) fit nicely.

Question 138 - The Universe

Match Game:

Match the phase of a rock from space with the different names it has depending on where it is.

Meteor

Meteoroid

Meteorite

A: In Space
B: In the Atmosphere
C: On the ground

OK, I think I know this one. (Let the snickering begin.)

Meteor = B: In the Atmosphere

Meteoroid = A: In Space

Meteorite = C: On the ground

I surprisingly think JB is correct...on this one. If he's not then it's all his fault! LOL!

Meteor = B: In the Atmosphere

Meteoroid = A: In Space

Meteorite = C: On the ground

Meteor - B: In the Atmosphere

Meteoroid - A: In Space

Meteorite - C: On the ground

Easy peasy! (Unless you don't know anything about comets... or space... or how the universe works)

A: Away from the sun

I agree. Jupiter and Saturn alone have at least that many! Seems like they keep adding new ones every other week. A: More

Question 141 - TV

The Bachelor. As of the beginning of 2022 there was 25 seasons of this show.

How many roses had been given out in those 25 seasons?

A: 299
B: 982
C: 1,604
D: 3,284

My problem is, besides having never watched the show, is that I don't know how many 'contestants' there are at the beginning of the season. Don't they give a rose to the weekly 'loser'? Or maybe it's the weekly winner??? I DON'T KNOW!!! I guessed that there were 20 contestants at the beginning of the season. 20 x 25 (seasons) = 500 roses... but that's not one of the choices. What it comes down to, because I don't know how the show works, is that I have to take a wild guess. (I suppose I could've done that without all these angsty words). So my wild guess is: A: 299
