I'm waiting to see what the DLC and the update will actually contain before I make a full judgement on this news. I'm more interested in the bug fixes than the flashy stuff to be honest.
  2. Sadly, most game companies today are not the same companies they once were. How many once great game developers and publishers have gone down the tubes, or are even hated today? EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Bioware... the list goes on. They've either gotten too greedy, lost their creative flare, produce buggy and low quality games, or all of the above. A company is only as good as the people who work for it. And lets face it, the talented people who created many of the great games of the past are simply not around any more. Which is why every game Ubisoft releases is just a clone of the previous game, just with a different setting. Bethesda, known for its mega hits such a Oblivion and Skyrim, is now making duds like Fallout 76 and Starfield. The talent simply isn't there anymore. Now I'm not saying Frontier is making duds or is not capable of making good games, because they certainly are. But the way they run the company is much different today than it was even a few years ago. The industry has changed (for the worse) plus the people running and working for the company are not the same people who were there years ago. The entire business model has changed, and the need to cut costs, doing the absolute minimum when it comes to community relations, and the almost desperate need to come up with ways to make the most money possible (in other words, milking the players with endless, small, over-priced DLCs or the horrible Pay-to-Play business models seen in many MMOs) is now the norm. So what I'm getting at is these are the reasons why once beloved companies, become hated over time. And this doesn't only affect the game industry. Take Disney, for instance. It is so far from the beloved company it once was. And that's mostly because the talent that Walt assembled in the old days is now gone. It is "Disney" in name alone. They don't seem to be able to come up with anything new and original...just uninspired remake after remake of old, Disney classics. And what's coming out of the Imagineering Dept. for the theme parks is continually less and less impressive. It's because legends such as Bob Gurr, Tony Baxter, and Joe Rohde, no longer work there. So ya, it's just a sign of the times. The entertainment industry as a whole is populated by less talented, less creative, and less passionate people and seem to be only motivated by greed. Yes, there are still a few beacons of light in the game development industry, like Larian Studios, and CD Projekt Red. And Frontier certainly hasn't sunk as low as some of the companies I've mentioned. But they could certainly do better. Planet Coaster 2 should have been a revolutionary improvement over the first. Instead, it seems more like a cash grab with a slightly improved engine and a DLC-sized addition of Water Park stuff. There ARE some really great improvements that they DID make, and I am quite happy with many aspects of the game. But those "wow" moments we got seeing many of the new features and attractions in the first game are simply not there in PC2. But there is no reason why we can't see some great innovative additions to the game in the future...as long as there are still some talented, creative, and passionate developers working for Frontier. But I don't really know if there are, as it IS simply not the Frontier that is used to be.
  3. I won't miss the streams; they were awkward and unnecessarily time consuming and I would always wait until they were done and then FF through most of it. I don't think most of them wanted to be on camera and it showed. At least once per stream one of them would say they don't particularly like this genre. I do want details on the state of the game on a somewhat regular basis and I'd be happy to read them in a discord post or watch a quick youtube showcase of what's coming soon (game footage only please.) But tying to what I said earlier this week, how they handled this is just more (and now expected) disappointment from Frontier. Waiting all month until the day everyone is expecting the stream and THEN announcing they aren't doing them anymore? They could've done that in last month's stream and frustrated a lot less people. This wreaks of "we didn't really get done with anything for PC2 this month because we're focusing on other things at the moment. We'll get around to it when we feel like it and have no actual roadmap." Two things can be true: The Planet series is one of, if not the best sandbox franchise but it is absolutely in the wrong hands at this moment. And yes, the same can be said about nearly every game out there which is why I'm focusing my anger on this one. I really miss the energy and enthusiasm of the devs during the first 3 or so years of Planco 1 but I definitely feel those days are long gone.
  4. tbh i do like the theme of the pack a lot. maybe because im a big hp fan or maybe because i was thinking about building such an area for some time now. but i also have to be very honest that i did expect something more towards a spooky set which in my opinion would also be more versatile for different themes. what i realy dont like is the swing launch "feature" now being locked behind a paywall and frontier simply going the easy route once again. instead of giving us this feature of all switch tracks, maybe even expand switch tracks to other ride models they decided to again put up limitations. the deciding factor if im gonna get this dlc depends on the patch notes and how the game runs when the updates out. i think the flying theatre is a step in the right direction. we dearly need more of these modern and/or themepark flatrides. on a last note, i think now with the dlc dropping next week there will be no spooky this year. if they go for the 3 months release schedule id guess they will give us a christmas thingy in december and maybe leave spooky for next years season.
  5. I think this pack will see a lot of Harry Potter areas start to be created. The flying theater will allow parks to have a simulator attraction. Overall, not a bad start in terms of the DLC list. I agree with some of the statements here on it being a side-step from attractions in PC1 while continuing to add and improve features seen in PC1 to this sequel. Interested to see what DLCs they have plan as it can get interesting.
  6. The walls, roofs, and windows seem to have some usefulness in non-wizardry projects, but it kind of goes downhill from there. Really hope that after this they get back to giving us things that exist in multiple parks, not just one. I like that they didn't make anything that was redundant with PC1's Spooky pack, but that's because I'm hoping they'll just give us that pack back for free and then we can mix the two together.
  7. Yet once again (I know...*groan*...) we head back for our tour! The next area was something I came up with to fill a large empty spot on the bench. I had seen a really fantastic blueprint of the Toy Story Mania ride at DisneySea in Japan by Banjotails , but it didn't really fit into that space, so I moved some parts of the blueprint around, duplicated a section, rotated it and added it on. There wasn't enough room to add an actual ride, but I came up with the idea of turning it into "Animation Plaza", a spot dedicated to Disney animation where there are character meet & greets, classes on drawing characters, and a theater showing Disney shorts. There's also a cafe, shopping, and restroom facilities. So while the basic structure maintains all of Banjotails clever designs, it serves a very different purpose here... Inside the main gate there's a plaza (duh...)... To the left the Big Cheese is waiting to greet you... To the right Minnie and Pluto are on stage. There's also restrooms and Clara Cluck's Nursery for "Lil' Peeps" Just past Mickey is Claribelle's Cafe... There's outdoor seating, and at the end is a stage where you can meet Donald Duck. Portraits of famous Disney characters line the walls... On the opposite wall movie posters from Disney's feature films are displayed... Of course there's a small shop selling Disney apparel and other themed items... Next door is the entrance to the Mickey Mouse Theater, which shows many Mickey Mouse and other Disney animated shorts... Looks like "Puppy Love" and "Plane Crazy" are today's features... Next door there's two Animation Studios, one where you learn how animation is created, the other where you learn to draw different Disney characters yourself... Through the portal you come to a secluded courtyard with food and beverage vendors, lot's of benches, and an antique pipe organ playing familiar Disney tunes... The exit from the Mickey Mouse Theater is also here... The tour continues...

I typically pop around, checking out the various PC2 Discord channels for any info on the game, and I can honestly tell you that Planet Coaster 2 is not dead. Frontier has ambitious plans for this game, which is what I already knew. It's sad that their poor communication with the community and the way they made some (seemingly) sudden decisions to stop support of the forums and the (possibly) end of the Unlocked streams created this mindset. The game got a horrible start, which was totally their fault, and they've spent the majority of this last year trying to fix that. And honestly, they still need to do quite a bit more fixing. But, there is a lot planned for this game and I do feel that a lot of new content is on the way. Whether or not Frontier can pull it off and give the community what it wants is still up for debate. But regardless, the game is certainly not dead.

  11. Hey everyone :D sorry for not posting that much lately, i honestly just didnt feel very motivated to write big posts or anything. just havent been feeling that well. i did however wanted to make a short post here about something new i did in the park. so i have this one big show building in my park, i was using it as a placeholder in the hopes of sometime being able to add a cinema flatride or something into it. however that showbuilding was just way to big and felt very missplaced in its location. ive decided to completely teardown said building and replace it with something new and much more exciting :) My idea was to build a mack stryker coaster and try to squeeze it into this very limited space. Space in itself was one of the biggest challenges in this new addition to the park. i did realy enjoy having that challenge of trying to get the most out of the space i had, it honestly contributet a lot in how the final coaster came out. next challenge was trying to come up with a theme or idea i could follow. so i came up with the idea of the "Grand hall of exhibition", an old industrial factory building where the greatest inventors come together for the inventors fair to showcase their newest machines. This is where Exhibition 77 comes into play. Professor Voltarius invites guests to showcase his new teleportation machine! I honestly also love the view from the mythology area much more. instead of looking at a green wall behind the buildings there is a now a beatifull skyline painted by coaster tracks. I hope you like this small update and as always i encourage you to go download the park and check the queue and ride out for yourself :) till next update where i will continue with the showcase of my areas

  14. Yes, it's a real ride called Test Flight, not faux. This unique ride was based on an original manufactured in 1948 by Eyerly Aircraft Company. The ride was designed to train pilots. Surprisingly, the peeps love it, but it has pretty dismal numbers. Wait times are pretty terrible because the ride is so long. Shorten the ride time, and no one wants to go on. I used Cain's ride estimator (or whatever that guide is called) to get the best numbers I could out of it. At least it draws the peeps to that area! The Toto Show is the Coriolis ride, always a peep pleaser. The Gale household holds the Twister ride; [img] One has to walk through the parlor, front hall, and other rooms in order to get to the actual ride. The corridors also serve as a "backdoor" to another new area of the park that we'll unveil soon; [img] "Auntie Em, it's a twister!" [img] "I get the feeling we're not in Kansas anymore" [img] The actual twister ride is a beautifully scenic Elixer machine; [img]

These are kind off the back corner of the habitat where the guests can view animals and not be distracted by the jeep as it really doesn't go back into this corner and is blocked by mostly by scenery.
  16. The "Atari-zation" of Frontier seems to continue. Admittedly I seldom watched an entire livestream, and only if there was mention somewhere else (usually their forums...) or an item that caught my interest. I have no interest in the mess at Discord, so the only sources really are Facebook posts (and YouTube videos if linked to them on Facebook). I wonder if I'm an outlier - not someone with multiple windows open chatting away or watching videos while playing? Generally when I play the game - I play the game and nothing else. But then I'm old school and no longer part of Frontier's target demographic. I truly miss the early days of PC1 with the heavy community involvement and communication from Frontier. Even while I stuck with RCT3 for a bit I was still kept up to date on the new game. But that mindset has left Frontier for whatever reason. You can still see it a bit with PZ, both in contacts with the community and in the content they are still putting out, but it's not seen with PC2. I suspect - but certainly don't know - that DLC will continue for a while, a few new things that were already in the pipeline, more returning items from PC1, maybe a added new feature her or there, but I don't expect this game to get anywhere near the content PZ has, nor of the same level. Once the PC1 stuff is all added to PC2, and anything they were previously working on comes out, I expect the game development to end. I don't expect TMTK will be added, which helped PC's longevity.

Yep. I silently keep an eye on the Frontier Discord and I see you attacked over and over again for simply posting your views. I will never post anything over there, at least in the general chat, as the same thing happened to me the one time I did post. With the low maturity level over there, it's not worth my time.
  18. Well, yes. And Frontier even said this back during Planet Coaster 1's original development. But that's no excuse. Planet Coaster should do everything and have everything RCT3 had and more... much more. It's over 20 years later and it's using the same, although greatly modified, engine. This should be the ultimate theme park builder. If Frontier sticks with PC2, they could achieve this. But they gave up supporting PC1, prematurely IMHO, so it's doubtful that PC2 will ever become what we want it to. Frontier is doing a balancing act with all it's different franchises, all being released at nearly the same time. Another game is supposedly coming out closely following JW3 (in the following year). That's too many games for one medium-sized development company to fully support. We're already seeing how this is negatively affecting PC2's development. In the end, the winner will be determined by it's financial success, and the Planet Coaster franchise is currently at last place, behind ED, PZ and JW.
  19. It really makes you appreciate how many things RCT3 base game had when it was out. I miss the expansion pack days. Once DLCs came out, that was it. Easier to get more money.
  20. The DLC I'm hoping for is a water rides pack. Jurassic World Evolution 3 is getting a kayak ride. If they can make this for JW3, then I would think there is no reason they won't create rides like this for PC2...something that many players are crying for.
  21. hey everyone :D realy excited to show off the new entrance area this time. i think it turned out realy good. i was kinda afraid that it wouldnt fit or i wouldnt be able to realy come up with something fitting but im keen to hear what you all think of it. i have made many shots along the building progress so you all can realy see the progress troughout the different building stages. Theres still some small details missing but i also have some more closeup shots to share :) I think so far the style fits much better and just goes perfectly along with the main hub areas theme. ive also managed to fit in a new small darkride and find a place for the alien encounter "prop ride". i still have to fill out the buildings with staff rooms, restaurants, gift shop and info stand but i will do that at a bit of a later point. enjoy the closeup shots and let me know what you think of the whole rebuild. And dont forget to download the park and check it out yourself, update is going live right now! CJK-KLR-C6L

A perfectly legitimate question. I would say that the majority of the furnishing are workshop items that have been modified by me, or placed as is. All building exteriors are 100% mine though. The rocking chairs are from the workshop, and one of the few items I kept 100% intact. (Yes, the legs are parenthesis) The drinking fountain started with a workshop item, which I used as a template for the basic size and shape, but then replaced about 75% of it to make it much more realistic looking. I'm quite proud myself on how they came out. The kitchen is mostly my design, with the exception of the microwave oven (modified) and the Pepsi machine (100% intact). Although, I've since replaced that Pepsi machine with another one from the workshop that I slightly modified. So let me just take the time now to officially thank all the talented people who have contributed to my projects with their workshop items. I'm not mentioning names, as I typically download a slew of items and then later go through them and choose the items I decide to use, making it too time consuming to go back and check who designed what. That, and the fact that many look nothing like they originally did after I've modified them, and also the fact the I've noticed some of the items are listed more than once by different authors. A sad fact that there is some plagiarism occurring on the workshop.

Just like Wonder World, Animal World also has a WONDERful Memories Photo Store. Here, you can buy the DigiPass, a digital photo package good throughout the entire Worlds of Wonder Resort. You can choose from three different packages. Here are some examples of the kinds of photos you can add to you DigiPass at photo spots around Animal World. There's a small employee break room in the back of the Photo Store. The first WONDERful Memories Photo Spot is nearby, right here in Zimbwowee Village. The Zimbwowee Village Market.
  26. Entering the battle zone where the three coasters collide. This is the only section of the other two coasters that is completed as I needed to do that for the overall look.
  27. Similar to @shyguy there's nothing really in that set which floats my boat apart from the flying theatre (which has no lap bars for some reason?). The kids coaster also doesn't have shuttle / boomerang functionality apparently so is of little use to me. People seem to be obsessed with swing coasters though so I'm glad that's coming for them, but the rest of the set seems very meh. Still need alot more animatronics than what's been shown in that pack. Hopefully the update will be worth waiting for.

  32. Wonder Beach Boardwalk opened its doors for one day to host a sneak preview of the Vertigo coaster. Lots of small changes have been made to the ride and area around it. For one, the ride entrance got a new sign. The Vertigo Gifts shop got a slew of new merchandise. Camera's have been mounted atop the ride. The new Vertigo Photos stand, to sell on-ride photos. New transfer tracks have been added to the ride.
  33. Took me a while to find the fox in that pic; he blends in really well! Auntie Em must be kept pretty busy planting, and caring for, all the nice flowers around the farm. Maybe she has the hired help do the gardening chores. I'm sure Dorothy doesn't do it... she's too much of a daydreamer to be of much use... Plus, she's always running off to who knows where.
  34. Sorry, real life and all that... The apple orchard and pumpkin patch; [img] Forget Aunt Em's, this fox may just get a free chicken dinner; [img] The only flat ride at the farm; [img] Zeke's Barnstormers really packs them in! [img] Overview of the area; [img] We'll visit Dorothy's house next!

A photo of the Flamingo Exhibit from my recent trip to SeaWorld. They've got Animal World beat for most flamingos on exhibit, possible the largest collection of flamingos anywhere in the US.
  39. That mouse above the entrance is horrifying, glad you didn't recreate that. The rest looks spot on!
  40. I guess back to the subject of the thread, I think an Assets or a Back Stage DLC would be cool. Trucks, semis, trailers, lawn movers, golf carts, ladders, tool boxes, anything related to maintenance or park upkeep. We all depended on the workshop for those sort of things in PC1. But no Custom assets now. It might not be enough to warrant a paid DLC, but a nice thing to add to a free update. As shyguy suggested, I would also love to see an aquatic pack, swan boats, canoes, kayaks, bumper boats, a large barge or steamboat, maybe just a transportation pack that also includes a variety of monorail skins, a trolley, (Horse pulled would be fabulous!), a small bus, maybe a stagecoach and a pony, elephant, or mule ride, not PC now, but a staple of parks 70-80 years ago. And please fix the boat rides so the tracks are invisible or set up like they were in PC1 with the monorail track.
  41. I was hoping you were right, but... But I still think if we do get a DLC pack soon, it will be the Spooky pack.
  42. I also think BTMR would be my pick for favorite coaster. I love the theming, and it's tame enough that I can handle it. Unfortunately, motion sickness keeps me from riding most coasters these days. So I have to stick with very tame ones. Even Space Mountain can make me extremely ill. And Xecronius, not only did I make my own drawings of BTMR, built a model of it too... Not perfect, but not bad, either.😋

Dr. Lecter has gotten most of the flamingos healthy and released into the exhibit. The new Veterinary Center, headed by the good doctor. Across the way is the Quarantine Center. Animals with major injuries or contagious diseases are kept here while they recuperate. Back in the Veterinary Center, this is where animals with minor injuries are kept as well as those being prepped for surgery. Lecter has an office here. Inside Lecter's main office in the Administration Building, it seems Wanda and Scooter have been called in and are about to be chewed out.

Here is the makeup of the island: Gold are the pathways at ground level and going up into the trees. Pink are working flat rides (my buddies plan did not have any actual rides on the island, but I had to add a couple to entice guests to walk out there in game). Green are the two faux water flat rides.
  46. i actually did think at some point of expanding the gondlheim area with a smaller additional area built like isle of berk. i did hold back on that idea to not bloat up the area too much though. and thanks for the feedback also regarding the post lenght, ill try to do that better in the next post then :) thanks broski, i realy appreciate the extensive explanation and feedback you give me. i do admit that this is actually something i struggle with also in music production, where i tend to always add more and more stuff to my tracks that actually arent realy needed. it could also be related to me looking at my own park for soooooo many hours at this point that to me it doesnt look like to much sensory overload with all the scenery and buildings etc. i will try to implement your ideas in the future 2 areas that i have planned to do :) i will also try to make the next deep dive better in terms of spacing out the screenshots better.

Absent-minded guests keep misplacing their melons it seems... And those poor children - it's all Wonder...all the time on that channel. Love the splash effect above the water fountains, Scooter checking to make sure no babies were discarded in the trash can, and the toilet is stunning...although the water level seems a bit high unless it's one of those Japanese models that washes yer undercarriage? Usually I think those SPRAY water, and not involve DIPPING like one's preparing a cup of Earl Grey... But a WONDERful update as usual!
