What do you think? I think I need to scale the whole thing up just a bit.

It's looking better. From what I see from the screenshot I posted, it still needs more height. The height at the bottom of the wooden beams is nearly at the top of the trolly windows, whereas yours are around the bottom of the trolly windows. So maybe scale it up a bit concentrating more on height than width. And be careful not to make the wooden beams too bulky. Honestly, it looks very good, and I'm being very nitpicky here. These are just things I might do if I was trying to get it perfect.

Take 3 😋
I slightly added stones to the top and bottom of the pillars to gain height. Then I 110% scaled the whole thing which also allowed me to then scale the beams back down again from 55% to 50%. I also pushed the overhanging beams back a bit to prevent them from getting to close to the tram. I think a variation where the beams were raised above the tram windows but it warped the shape of the shelter to much. I also tried a variation of scaling it all to 120% to get above the windows but that also got to close to the tram and bench behind the shelter. I think this is the final take!

The pole looks great!

Definitely think the newer iteration of the station is better. The tile roof looks much more to scale.

The attention to the details here is fantastic. I am not even a Disney fan and I love this! It is actually one of the few changes they have made that does not irritate me for one since they didn't think they had to slop IP everywhere. OK Disney rant over, this is looking great!

Thanks for the tip about the pole and comment! I'm happy with the final station 😃

Each single tile is made of 2 toy box pieces and 1 art piece for the flat part. It's crazy how much bigger the in game roof tiles are compared to real life!

Thanks for the kind comment! I do like Disney but I will agree with you that the IP push has been annoying and in my eyes hurtful to theme parks and lands in particular. I highly prefer lands with a broader theme that have room for IP instead of single IP lands. I also dislike how this change means the whole parks loses the cohesive themed lands like Galaxies Edge in Disneyland next to the more broader and classic lands. The character and IP intergration in BVS is done very tastfull to me.

I really loved the whole DCA 2.0 move. Paradise Pier 2.0 and Buena Vista Street were cool changes that added to the park and boosted the California theme. BVS also works really well with Hollywood land nextdoor and ending in Tower of Terror. Carsland is a single IP land but does feel California, Americana and car culture themed to me (as a non US citizen). I was really sad they didn't continue with that push further seeing how successful it was for the park. Some concept pieces hinted a full facade redo for the Hyperion which makes me believe the had plans for the rest of Hollywood land too! The Avengers Campus, Pixar Pier, no Trolley and Avatar chances break so much of what DCA 2.0 fixed.

Hi all, small update again!

I did some little technical infrastructure upgrades by adding speakers and road signs. I also started to play around with the first facade and some tables, chairs and benches.

Then I filled in the windows with beams first and added the glass last.

After the windows came the sings to balance things out.

And most recently I did the tables, chairs and benches.

This was one of the easier facades (simple rectangle) so I started here. I did use the bricks from the sorcery pack at first but swapped them out for the small town ones and I think it looks way better. The in game tables and chairs are huge (not surprised) so I had to do them custom to fit. I also swapped out the trees in front because the scaled down trees have to many low branches that people would bump into.

Question. I believe they stopped the trolley usage in real life. I haven't been there in a while, so did they remove all the cables and poles for the cables as well?

They haven't removed anything, as far as I know. Just like the deteriorating People Mover tracks which are still there 30 years after the ride closed. Although there's a chance the trolley could come back...the People Mover, not so much.

Hi all!

I have another small update from the park. I do keep noticing something feels off about the scale. I think my main grid I used for scaling is just a tad bit smaller then how it is in real life. I know the park uses forces perspective in real life and most of the in game stuff is very oversized but my build still feels like a miniature model in some ways. I don't want to change the scale because that would mean changing everything in the park done so far. It sucks but as long as everything is slightly smaller then will all look good together. I moved to the next facade which is for Clarabelle's Hand Scooped Ice Cream. I also added some small details on the Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe building like texts on the windows and doors.

Planet-Coaster-2-21-7-2026-23-03-36-png.png

The main facade is build with the blocks from the Toy Box DLC. I'm not really happy with the texture but I do like how the curved pieces work for the top part. I also changed the trees back again. I likes how the other ones looked better but they still were to tall sadly. Maybe I'll get the scaling mod someday and play around with them again.

Planet-Coaster-2-22-7-2026-21-56-57-png.png

I noticed in the elevation art and color studies that the windows above the door for Clarabelle's changed in development. In the art it doesn't feature stained glass (the glass design probably wasn't finished yet) and also had a small striped awning. I haven't figured out a nice way to do stained glass in PC2 (missing the colored glass gems from PC1 Adventure Pack that made it work) so I went with the awning from the art to give the facade some color and less 'naked' windows.

Hope you all enjoy and see you next time on Buena Vista Street!

Yes, it sucks when you work many hours on something and then decide it didn't come out right or something major needs to be changed. After I had built most of the transportation center building, (not all the interiors yet) I realized I needed to move the entire thing 4 meters north because things weren't lining up right. It had too many pieces to move together as a whole, so I had to select portions of it and move them one at a time. Luckily the ability to set the advance move tool to a set length made this easier than I thought it would be.

Have you tried nesting multiple copies of a tree on top of itself? I've done this many times to add more height or make a tree look fuller.

Everything is looking great so far. I especially like the text on the windows.

HOLY COW!!! I've only been to the park twice, but Buena Vista Street is maybe one of my favorite areas/mainstreets in a Disney park. I am BLOWN AWAY by this project so far, everything is absolutely stunning! You're attention to detail is SPOT ON.

I am beyond excited to see how this project develops!

The advance tool and working smartly with the grid really helps! The new paths system also withing with the advance move tool is a major upgrade from what we had before (and in PZ) Happy to hear you were able to correct it without to much of a hassle.

Thanks a good tip, I used to do that in PZ but haven't tried it in PC2 yet, have to see how the wind (and tree roots) will look.

Thanks for the comment! The lettering/advertisement on the windows really gives the build a more lived in feeling.

Thanks Oakie!! I have never been so it makes me happy to get feedback like yours from people that have been there. Buena Vista Street is also one of my favs. I love the warm inviting colors and more calming textures compared to a castle park main street. The more calmer and harmonized colors contrast really well with the rich and bold decorative elements that are sprinkled trough out the facades. Most Hollywood themed lands also go for Art Deco elements but they are usually more over the top with decorative elements and contrasting between individual facades. I like how Buena Vista Street is a more cohesive vision.

Hi all!

They've announced another heatwave for the Netherlands sadly, so I've been building away as much as I can now that my PC isn't an active volcano yet. For today's update I wanted to show the 2th Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe facade and a new planter/circular bench. I've swapped out trees once again but I think I've found the sweet spot. I wanted trees that aren't that tall but the branches and leaves needed to start higher up on the trunk. I settled for the small fig trees in the end. I tried stacking smaller trees but ran into the issue of the tree roots sticking out and the wind making everything look wild. The custom roof for the tram stop was a blessing in disguise because for this facade I used the same style and technique. A fun thing I found out when studding the building is the insane amount of time the name of the cafe is slapped on the building, it's mentioned on multiple windows, in the stained glass windows, 3 billboards, side of the building and some smaller info signs I've yet to add and that's just on the outside alone!

I'm really happy how it all came together. The metal shine of the coaster brackets I used for the roof tiles have a strong reflection that helps sell the glazed terracotta look. The diagonal triangle shapes on the little pillar roofs where impossible so I just let the art shapes stick out. I'm also really happy with the advertisement sign on the side of the building, I didn't think I would be possible to get close to the real thing like his.

A current look at the Carthay Circle. I think I've move to the facade next to Clarabelle's next. That will be the southern entrance for the Elysian Arcade. It's kinda scary to see the many facades that I still need to build but I enjoy the more bite size approach of going one by one.

Thanks :D I'm really falling in love with Buena Vista Street all over again when researching the designs and searching trough all the pictures online, they've done such a good job when they transformed the original entrance.

Haha thanks, I was so annoyed when I saw the weather forecast again. I love the daylight hours that come with summer but really can't tolerate heat well. Working a lot with PC's is also not a fun thing when they produce even more heat during a heatwave.

Looks fantastic! What constitutes a heatwave in the Netherlands?

Thanks for the comment!

The Dutch definition for a heatwave is at least 5 following 'summer' days (above 25 Celsius) that include at least 3 'tropical' days (above 30 Celsius). The one last month was 12 summer days en 5 tropical days.
