Posted July 15, 20232 yr I've decided to reboot an old unfinished project of mine. I originally began creating Kraken in 2015. Unfortunately the original file got corrupted, and I can no long work on the 2015 version. Instead of recreating the entire layout I decided this was a good time to make changes to the layout, to make it more smooth and realistic. I haven't gotten to work on the supports yet but I have the layout nailed down, and added the details to the lift track, such as catwalks, anti-rollback, coaster nets, and chain lift covers.2023 Edited May 20May 20 by Wilhelm1407
July 16, 20232 yr I heckin' LOVE this concept! Your last several project "reveals" were all finished products, but getting to see it happen as you design, build and theme is really neat! Something, sometime, eventually...
July 16, 20232 yr Author I started on the supports tonight after I got of work. I didn't make a ton of progress but it's still something. Modeling them after Diamondback at Kings Island.
July 16, 20232 yr The dropping into the broken ship is a really really cool idea, can't wait to see another MASTERPIECE coaster m'lord! there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really
July 17, 20232 yr Author Quick little update before I go to bed for the night. I tweaked the lift supports and started on the second hill. I also got a little landscaping in. Edited July 17, 20232 yr by Wilhelm1407
July 17, 20232 yr Starting to come together nicely! How did you get your ground textures to look like that? I don't believe that's how the default grass looks unless this is just some custom texture/scenery? there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really

We should have that texture set in the downloads section. I also have a tutorial on installing them. Then the background mountains are a TexMod by FlightToAtlantis. I believe they are Skybox Retextures V2.1. Edited July 17, 20232 yr by Wilhelm1407
April 25Apr 25 Author Surprise! I've been meaning to get back to this project someday and I jumped back on it tonight and finished the supports. Now all that's left is landscaping and theming. I changed the layout a little bit in the middle and added another helix after the mid course brake run.
May 2May 2 Author I've made quite a bit of progress on the station so far. I'd probably be further along if I was better at planning structures out, but I tend to just build as I go. So I'm wracking my brain trying to finish this complicated structure and I'm praying it doesn't blow up my game file because of the mere amount of timber pieces I'm using. I gotta say I'm happy with how it's turning out.
May 3May 3 Love the addition of lockers! So far the station looks fantastic with the structure. The wood detailing and the stations gates look great!
May 3May 3 Really liking the station! The brake/maintenance bay building and the station proper look really good together. Also echoing Bookworm91 with the locker praise. The attention to realism is commendable. I've been thinking of making a few solo coaster projects and this is inspirational. What timber/wood set/s are you using?

May 4May 4 I can only echo what others have said, I love the style of the station with the unfinished wood beams at the top! there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really
May 11May 11 Author A quick update for you guys. I've started building the queue and adding some more theming. I still have to finish the station, but I had the urge to start on the queue before adding anything else to the station. Mostly because I wasn't sure if I wanted to build stairs up to it, or have a gradual scenic ascent. I ended up going with the latter.
May 12May 12 Yeah, this is looking great! The rock and wood work around the track really stands out, and the queue system looks natural and professional. Really cool solo build. Thanks doubly for listing your CS sets.
May 20May 20 Author I've added a ride to the plaza area outside the Kraken's queue. Kraken Jr. will be a great family ride for those who are too afraid to brave the Kraken. I've also started on some store fronts, and will add some food places as well.
May 20May 20 I love the rustic style! It’s got a charm and like idk my brain said “spikey” feel to it lol. Great work on the supports and connectors! Feels like a No Limits ride! Hardly looks like RCT3

May 25May 25 I love the whole area. The buildings I am trying are super detailed and having the coaster work around the overall area brings a lot of energy and some stunning views from the guest perspective.
