  1. This should be interesting.

The Savannah Sweets Bakery. The Savannah Sweets Bakery, located near the entrance of the park, will be a perfect way to start your day, as well as end it, as it offers breakfast entries, fresh coffee, and a wide selection of desserts. Ample seating is available both inside and outside. A nice selection of desserts on display. (workshop item with some edits) The menus. The kitchen staff hard at work. (kitchen setting a la Frontier) Night is the perfect time to visit and sample some of the delectable desserts. Just waiting for the park to open and the guests to arrive.
  3. Caves are pitch black in the game. You have to set Global Illumination to "on" in the Settings. Otherwise, the game has the same crappy lighting as PC1.

Thanks, guys, for your input. I might look into brightening the font. Things look very different depending on the lighting and time of day in this game. It might look great at night, not so much during the day. And there's a huge different in the saturation of the colors when something is in the shade vs in direct sunlight. Getting colors and lighting right in this game is definitely a challenge.

I never liked the WONDERful Memories photo shop sign (I've always struggled with signage), so it's been replaced. I think this fits the color scheme of the shop much better. Now, I'm still not sure about those topiaries. The old sign.
  6. Well, they've got to make money somehow. Maybe they'll add the feature to other coasters in a later update. I'm still hoping we'll get something for Halloween...maybe some of the popular items from the old Spooky Pack in a small update, and save a new Halloween-themed DLC for next year. For Xmas, I'm hoping for snow and an arctic biome. Maybe revamp the weather system at that point as well.
  7. I think it's around 300. You can see them all on Frontier's store webpage. Whether they are ALL shown or not, we'll soon find out. It's a decent set, though nothing really stands out for me. Although they'll be great for use in my Wizard's Castle in Alpine Village, if I ever actually get that far to build it.
  8. I think I'm more excited about the things coming in the free update than anything in this new DLC. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with any new content, especially new scenery pieces, but the new rides don't excite me and I probably won't use any of them, aside from possibly the "Soarin' Theater". There's nothing very innovative in this. It's all very PC1 level. I expect this set was in the works very early in the game's development and the release was put off until they had time to bring the base game up to the standards people were expecting it to be in the first place. There are so many other things people are asking for, and I do expect to see some of those things coming to future DLC sets. So, it's a nice start. Hopefully we'll get better later on.

I've probably tweaked the design and several elements of these restrooms more than anything else in this build so far. I expect I'll find more things to change in the future. No, I'm not anal at all.

The signs around Expo 3000 are all being replaced. (Changing from in-game font to billboards. While the game's fonts are a big upgrade from PC1, they have there own set of problems, especially when viewed from a distance.) A screenshot of the original Restrooms sign.

And for those who were expecting this thread to actually be about the building of a park... We have foliage!
  12. I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
  13. I really love this new area. You did a great job squeezing it in and making it work. And now a JB type comment...In the third screenshot, is that a fish out of water, flopping around on the sidewalk? 😋
  14. More purdy pictures. When you say you use reShade, is that a specific program? Or a Photoshop feature?
  15. Very nice so far. Love that lift hill. I'm not sure is that is mist or water, but it looks great.

Eventually, you do plan to have animals in your animal park, right?
  17. Yes, PlanCo 1 has no Madhouse ride. This was done with 2 modular buildings...the seating area and the set piece (rotating shell). For screenshots, I manually rotated each building. For JB's benefit, the peeps are animatronic props, not real guests (if you didn't know).

  19. Frontier invited several of the big youtube content creators to their studios, and one in particular, is gushing about what he learned and seems extremely excited about the future of the game. https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetCoaster/comments/1n9w2ly/so_cats_out_of_the_bag_then_mind_you_it_was_never/?share_id=n9B_4MG5mr-BPZzxqZEZ9&utm_content=2&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1
  20. I typically pop around, checking out the various PC2 Discord channels for any info on the game, and I can honestly tell you that Planet Coaster 2 is not dead. Frontier has ambitious plans for this game, which is what I already knew. It's sad that their poor communication with the community and the way they made some (seemingly) sudden decisions to stop support of the forums and the (possibly) end of the Unlocked streams created this mindset. The game got a horrible start, which was totally their fault, and they've spent the majority of this last year trying to fix that. And honestly, they still need to do quite a bit more fixing. But, there is a lot planned for this game and I do feel that a lot of new content is on the way. Whether or not Frontier can pull it off and give the community what it wants is still up for debate. But regardless, the game is certainly not dead.
  21. Professor Fate's House of Madness Fate's House of Madness is virtually untouched from its original version. The pre-show/waiting room.
  22. Is anyone talking about the glowing green smoke rising from the cauldron? Presently, none of the smoke effects show up at night in PC1 or PC2 from what I recall.
  23. You could be right, but honestly, it's a bit premature to make any comments on the upcoming DLC, as they really haven't shown us anything.
  24. That's pretty much what I figured. I just hadn't opened the game to check for myself, but now I don't have to. I'm actually pretty happy with this update. It shows Frontier is willing to change things and give players more freedom to do what they want without the many restrictions put on the building tools at launch. Yes, progress on this has been really slow, and many of the things we've gotten over the past several months should have been in the game from the start. But the alternative would have been for Frontier to have waited a year to release the game, instead of releasing it prematurely as they did... which is the mindset I've been in, as I've considered this an early access game and I've put off really getting too far into creating anything significant as I wait for them to get all the features ironed out. This gives me a bit of hope for the future of the game, but I'm still very cautiously optimistic, as Plokoon says. Still waiting to see just what the DLC will include. They're really going to have to hit this out of the park to win back a lot of players who aren't as encouraged as I am.
