They better say something BIG in next week unlocked or this game is DEAD. Not just repeat the damn info from last horrible stream. JWE3 is totaly taking over with awesome enthusiastic weekly info and updates. That activety PC2 NEVER had since launch. Kind of shows their priorities and makes pc2 feel even more like a cash cow atempt between other releases of theirs..

Agree... big is very much needed, especially if they are going to charge money now. The 4 (or 5) updates earlier this year barely put a dent in all the lingering issues, and the scenery imports were done poorly. I have low confidence in the ability (and interest) of this dev team and that doesn't bode well for the future of this game.

I still remain hopeful.

Is it a perfect game. No, but what game is perfect. With so many users and individual needs...everyone can't be satisfied all the time. There are still lots of positives with the game. I actually have fun building in it and have had no real roadblocks. Things that are missing or needed...I work around until changes are made in the future. I still run into things in PC1 and PZ that I wish they had.

Didnt think id be commenting on this thread. But after seeing what frontier has just pulled on us i totally agree. This appears to be the start of frontiers downfall and degradation of their quality… no more livestreams so we are left in the vacuum again… what feels like the 50th time sinde this game came out

Are they not doing livestreams at all or just for PC2? Weird decision and timing.

Over at the Frontier Unlocked Discord, this is the first time I've actually seen a bunch of criticism for the game from the fanboys over there. Of course, NOW we see a rep from Frontier make an appearance and try to calm them down. We're told how this is a good and positive thing and of course all is good now, because people can be so gullible.

Man i dont mean to bash other platforms or their users. But the frontier discord is just so full of defensive people. Whenever i write anything slightly critical i have the same 4-5 users jumping in trying to come up with excuses, workarounds and „oh it cant be that bad“.

Even worse they joke at people voicing criticism and keep making fun of that criticism. Ive never felt more alienated from a franchise or its community…

Yep. I silently keep an eye on the Frontier Discord and I see you attacked over and over again for simply posting your views. I will never post anything over there, at least in the general chat, as the same thing happened to me the one time I did post. With the low maturity level over there, it's not worth my time.

Discord probably has a bunch of immature young users. I looked at it and I don't like the format of Discord vs. a forum like this. I hope something like a horror pack is released this fall. We need more PC1 rides and new rides. I miss the Centrum, Swift Eagles, Swift Drifters, Tri-Storm, Power Moves, and rides from RCT3 like Gravitron.

Damn its dead...Such silence... Only horror tab at steam. Is that all we get.

I typically pop around, checking out the various PC2 Discord channels for any info on the game, and I can honestly tell you that Planet Coaster 2 is not dead. Frontier has ambitious plans for this game, which is what I already knew. It's sad that their poor communication with the community and the way they made some (seemingly) sudden decisions to stop support of the forums and the (possibly) end of the Unlocked streams created this mindset.

The game got a horrible start, which was totally their fault, and they've spent the majority of this last year trying to fix that. And honestly, they still need to do quite a bit more fixing. But, there is a lot planned for this game and I do feel that a lot of new content is on the way. Whether or not Frontier can pull it off and give the community what it wants is still up for debate. But regardless, the game is certainly not dead.

They have really done themselves no favours whatsoever with the launch and the lack of communication recently. They could have garnished so much more goodwill towards the game had they been more open about things and given us more information.

I hope you're right @shyguy about Frontier's ambitions, have you seen something posted somewhere or had some inside information to lead you to be so confident of the game's future?

Frontier invited several of the big youtube content creators to their studios, and one in particular, is gushing about what he learned and seems extremely excited about the future of the game.

I'm glad to hear all of this, and will completely admit I've been concerned since launch that they would end up doing a couple of quick patches and walk away from their losses, thus killing the genre for another decade. (There was a financial report for the investors that sort of implied that could happen.) That, plus the surprisingly low sales numbers of the PC franchise compared with zoo, and the low numbers overall of PC2 compared to PC1 at this time. And then maybe I was spoiled by 5 months of updates with content and when things got dark for a couple of months I panicked again. I really do want this game to succeed, but like Shyguy said there is still a lot of work to do.

That is positive news, thanks for posting that @shyguy.

I have everything crossed for the future of the game, let's see if this next dlc and update can reinvigorate it.

This topic kind of loses me. We have not had PC2 for a year yet, but I agree the updates going to just YouTube clips and some social media posts is disappointing. On the other hand, if they are not doing anything too extensive, it probably got too much to stream often especially when things being added to PC2 were things that previously existed in the original PC. It is not dead at all, a year I would say is a time period of determining popularity while users are learning what is new at the same time.

I saw some of their posts about this. Most interesting was inviting Delady in that group. She had all but abandoned PC2 (I think due to some negative feedback she provided) and the love affair Frontier had with her seemed to have been broken.

Perhaps that's why she was invited. If they can sway her...

I am so excited for the new update. And I never thought that the game was dead. It was only a summer break. Many people are on vacation and when the autumn and winter will come, more people will come back playing videogames
