I used the name Copper Creek for my first project back in PC1, a generic attempt at capturing the rustic essence of Silver Dollar City or Dollywood. So far I haven't leaned much into that original project; this one was initially inspired by the recolorable rocks they added which made me want to do my take on Thunder Mountain (shown only in the background of a couple of these photos.) From there I tried to up my architecture game by recreating old west buildings from online photos, and a couple of them turned out well enough to make me keep going and build an entire ghost town.

The park entrance is another Disney influence, the fort they are using as the entrance to Adventureland Paris.

Currently no mods are being used but I am using reShade to tone down Frontier's ridiculous color saturation.

Looking good. The ghost town came out very realistic and detailed. Will this become a full-fledged theme park with rides and other lands?

Yep. I'm about 4 months in and there are 3 lands so far, all still in progress. The old west street (Saddle City, another name I've used before) will maybe get a couple of interiors as long as the exteriors can still look authentic.

I love the look of your Old West Main Street. And I like how that little stream meanders through the town. 👍

I'm using the rapids track because all of the terrain levels don't really accommodate for natural water, plus I like seeing it alive with rushing water. Problem is, Frontier made an arbitrary update that requires the track to be connected to a station if you want to get the water to show up, so now I've got several underground stations all around the park ☹️

Thanks guys, it's great hearing your feedback again.

Yes, this is fantastic! The old town looks amazing, and the buildings are so detailed and realistic. I really like the river running through the town and the rock work—it's a great touch. The facades are also very well done. And you're absolutely right: the color saturation is a bit over the top. So, re-shade is definitely a great tool to improve that. It fits perfectly with the vibe of your western town

Thank you all for the kind comments!!

"Crafter's Pass" is my version of Dollywood's Crafstman Valley (couldn't come up with a more original name, sorry). Silver Dollar City also has local artisans and tradespeople scattered about their park making cool things by hand and sometimes giving demonstrations. So I wanted to capture that cozy/rustic/mountain aspect somewhere in the park before things get all coaster crazy. I'm guessing I had to build over 30 unique structures for this area, pretty much copying existing buildings from those 2 parks and trying to rename and retheme them slightly.

This area also has one flat ride and a small junior coaster, an indoor performance venue for various shows and local musicians, one full restaurant (still under construction) and too many other quick serve food options to list. Still detailing this area and currently not doing any interiors for it (there would be way too many and most wouldn't serve any functional purpose.)

More to come from this area...

More purdy pictures. When you say you use reShade, is that a specific program? Or a Photoshop feature?

It's a separate program, you can get it here: https://reshade.me/forum/shader-discussion/2120-download

Can be used for any game, there's a part during installation where you select which game(s) you want it to be applied to. Once installed you can toggle it on or off while in game, and change settings at any time. For these photos today I pulled back on a bunch of my settings to focus only on toning the saturation a bit but giving it more color than my ghost town screenshots. It's also fairly easy to uninstall. Also worth noting: It doesn't seem to affect framerates, as I've filled up almost half a map now with no significant FPS loss. Bodes well for Wonder World, I think. 😉

I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

I love the inclusion of a performance area, something you see in a lot of parks! Great update as always, I look forward to seeing more!

Thanks Plokoon! I'll try to remember to get a shot of the music hall in the next photo update, for now wanted to share my first video update in which you will see almost everything that's been built so far:

Thanks, JP. I always enjoy 'walking tour' videos. It's the best way to experience a park. It's as if you're actually there. And whaddyaknow... we found out you have a gnome fetish! Frankly I'm surprised you publicly admitted it. But not to worry, we all have our little quirks.classic_tongue

Thanks JB. Tour vids are a great way to show off a project, and also a great way to find mistakes you wouldn't have caught otherwise! I'm in therapy for the gnome thing but I think it's going to be a long process :)

Wow, this is really well done... I haven't yet seen Planet Coaster 2 looking this good!

The layout of the park, and every corner of it, is so well thought-through, with all the perfectly arranged visual axes. The new land already looks wonderful, can't wait to see more of it.

Great project.

Btw, I wish Planet Coaster 2 had a reshade feature built into it. You really made it appear more realistic.

From your lips to Frontier's ears! I'd even be happy if it was NVIDIA compatible so that we could use Ansel on it. Reshade works well but this should all be possible in-game. Thanks, I'm happy you noticed the sightlines (and sometimes intentional lack of them) because I didn't really talk much about that :)

This is so well designed and so realistic looking. There are some truly gorgeous views in this park. Another park you may want to use for reference is Knott's Berry Farm. In fact, many spots in the video looked right out of the ghost town at Knott's. Although it appears you may be mostly done with the ghost town area. Can't wait to see the new land.

EDIT: And as for the coaster. It looks great! I'd be proud to have created such a great-looking coaster. Is it an accurately built GCI coaster? I have no idea.

The log flume was originally going to be full on Knott's (it seems to be a popular attraction as far as flumes go?) and then I found the one at WB Movie World which looks like it would be a lot of fun to build. (I might have called it Universal in the video, oops.) I do want to go research more of Knotts though, I looked at their mine ride but I don't think it will work for me here.

Glad it looks good, I kind of think it does too. Hopefully a GCI fanatic will come along and educate me on any nuance that I'm missing. :)

Love to tour video! We'll done!!! You knocked it out of the park

Thanks again Plokoon. I've been debating adding my own voice to a video for a long time now and came close to not doing it at all. All of the support is very encouraging.

Hey - warning - I have several comments coming here.

Keep the videos coming. This is a really nice video, and like others have said....gives a great real view of what this park is looking like.

The park is great - your building and organization of the layout is spot on. Theme is consistent and really well done. You say you are not creative, but give yourself some more credit as the is way better than what I might have thought up for this theme. I like the way you are taking inspiration from many parks and even direct recreates from of them. THats what makes your park still unique in it's own way.

While you didn't mention it, I also saw a lot of Knott's in this layout.

Both coasters are great. The family/kids coaster is great the way it is. Again...credit to your capabilities.

The Woodie is also perfect. I don't see anything you need to change. Very realistic (especially compared to crazy coasters I always build).

Again the detail is amazing, the layout is astonishing, and this is a awesome realistic looking park.

I want to close with....Do I see a gnome hunt in the future?

Very kind, thank you Wowman. As I told Shy I really need to do some Knotts studying the same way I've been doing with Dolly and SDC, it sounds like there's a whole lot of inspiration to be found there.

Self deprecation is part of the shtick I think, but also a thing where I try to lower expectations first and then exceed them. It's all quite shady, I know 😜

If you're playing Gnome Hunt, I think there were 7 in this video. There is also an 8th gnome in the park (the only female, ala Smurfette) and I don't think she shows up in this one. My plan for the gnomes is to give them a park section for the kids like maybe some enchanted caves or something that has a dark ride. I think I'm waiting for some more inspiration to hit before I start that up. And once I do that I'll probably pull quite a few of the existing ones out so that the kiddie section has a little more impact.
