Planet Coaster 2 Official News & Updates

While the new content looks great, my one thought is that true kiddie rides are still lacking. I know the don't hold many peeps, and I'm not sure if PC2 allows you to limit riders to just children, but kiddie rides were something also sorely missing in PC1 as well...

  • Finally, an update from Frontier! Looks like we're getting Arcades in a free update in April. I can finally build my Expo 3000 Arcade! No DLC until June, though. Here's the official announcement. ht

Some UNofficial news... So apparently, stuff from the upcoming DLC was leaked by someone, and something was uploaded to the workshop. It's been all cleaned up and nobody's talking about it or revealin

I'm very unexcited by this. It's a kids-themed art shape and decal pack without the kiddy rides. This will only be useful if we can scale the objects down to 5% like the existing art shapes. In the beginning of the video, they show the pieces scaled toy-size, but I'm wondering if that was just for the video. None of the rides does anything for me, and that parachute drop ride is ugly.

Agreed. The wave surfer is cool, but in the wrong pack. Some real kiddie rides would have been great!

Also agree that parachute drop is just very clunky looking. The central column is about four times thicker than it ought to be.

I've checked out the Toy Box DLC and as it still doesn't impress me, there are actually a lot of pieces that I can use for Expo 3000 so I'll be buying this one right away. Many of the pieces can be scaled down to 20% which is much better than only 50%. Unfortunately, I need some of the pieces to scale even smaller for what I wanted to use them for. I don't know why Frontier can't just make all pieces scale the same.

I have yet to purchase the Sorcery Pack, as I have no need for it now, and am waiting for it to go on sale.

Nice to see more updates coming, even nicer that they are free! Glad to see they are still adding to the game after a long silence. Thanks for sharing, shyguy!

there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really

Tiny bit concerned that they mention free update, which if it is interactive games would be cool. Maybe more like the genie or the claw game in PC1 though. The peeps just stand there for a moment or two, then move on? I guess we'll see.

My guess is the Adventure pack this time around.

But no new paid DLC until June? Bummer.

Honestly, I'd be fine with that. And hopefully what they do give us is easily customizable so we can skin them to create any look we want.

I really wish they will give us like walking maze to recreate some horror night! It will be very cool if they bring back the studio pack and the hotels also ! :)

Mazes, walk through funhouses, mini golf, and especially stadium/theatre type shows would be wonderful.

I keep reading posts elsewhere from people who think these 'arcades' will actually be playable - either on the in-game scenery piece itself, or by opening a secondary screen to play. I'm just not so sure of that myself. I'm kind of expecting little more than animation of a guest interacting with the arcade scenery for a short amount of time (like they do dining...), then walking away and it affecting guest satisfaction, and that's about it. With the limitations in this game I'm just unsure how they could add more than that. Sure, it would be nice for some if they were able to actually play an arcade game, but I'm thinking some people may end up being disappointed with what we actually end up getting...

I could very well be wrong...

You said exactly what I attempted to say! LOL

Wonder if we will get vista points back?

I wonder if they would bring back the Arrow Suspended Coaster and get the PTC 2-bench Wooden coaster trains for a future Planet Coaster 2 DLC.

I know the free update has yet to come out, but I would LOOOVE to see an expanded version of the arcade update one day, giving players more options of what types of arcade games would be placed, like sit-down racers, a VR attraction, and dancing machines.

Sweet, another free update! Is it only arcades?

Who knows. As usual, Frontier's announcements are overflowing with information. At this point, we should get a ton of bug fixes in this update as well. I'd be happy with just that. But I'm not expecting much. But I AM happy to see arcades, something I've been wanting ever since PC1. Just hope they'll be easy to skin and hide the annoying Planet Coaster theme. I don't want a Whack-a-King Coaster in my park.

The guy on the right of the screen has one of those huge padded mallets. Want to bet its a Whack-A-King Coaster? 🤣

I wish they would put out another ride pack. It's frustrating how few options we have. I would pay for some decent rides!

It is. You can't see it in this screenshot, as it's low res. The official post is quite clear that it is, indeed, King Coaster being whacked.

The arcades look really good. A lot more than I expected. And for that tease at the end...the writing on the white board says "Parade Times."

The mystery man at the end of the teaser in front of what looks like a parade float is wearing spats and dressed like someone from 1890's - early 1900's. He's also wearing a sash which reminds me of the Main Street Mayor at Magic Kingdom...or perhaps he's the Parade Marshall?

Yes, the arcade games look really nice, and while not all are usable for period parks, but I have the feeling others will come up with alternative uses with added theming.
