Definitely feels like they are teasing parades for sure and looks like @shyguy was right, this new update seems to be focused on bugfixes.

If they add some super complex parade system and didn't do that for the fireworks section of the game, I'm going to lose it 🫠

Planet Coaster 2 - 1.9.1 Update notes:

Hayo Park Managers!

It's time to introduce a new way to entertain your guests! Get ready to create awesome arcades in your parks, complete with a selection of classic Atari® arcade machines! Update 9 for Planet Coaster 2 will be available free on all platforms on April 30th. 

Alongside placing and building your own arcades, Update 9 includes the introduction of new flat ride blueprints, and new coaster track variations. We've also included improvements to Guest Feedback on Weather, Staff Zones, Heatmaps and, the ability to toggle coaster lights, alongside bug fixes - all to make your gameplay experience even better!

This update will also bring Planet Coaster 2 support to the ASUS ROG Ally / ROG Xbox Ally!

Please read below for a breakdown of what's in Update 9.

Features

 

Entertainment tab

  • A new Entertainment tab has been added to the browser. 

  • From here players will be able to access the new Arcades content introduced in Update 9.

Arcade Games

  • Included in Update 9 are 14 brand new Arcade Machines and a Prize Counter for guests to enjoy!

  • Guests can win prizes from the machines directly or tickets which can be swapped for prizes at the Prize Counter.

    • Park Managers can decide how many tickets and prizes their guests can win from their arcades.

  • All Arcade Machines with the exception of the Atari machines, will come with colour customisation, allowing you to better tailor them to the theme of your park.

      • A small pool heater has been added for shallow pools

      Career Updates

      • Reduced the amount of medals required to unlock the next chapter in Career mode;

        • To unlock chapter 1 requires 1 medal

        • To unlock chapter 2 requires 9 medals

        • To unlock chapter 3 requires 15 medals

        • To unlock chapter 4 requires 25 medals

      • Career Scenario goals have been updated

        • Chapter 1

          • A Shore Thing

            • General changes:

              • Loan interest rate reduced to 10%

              • Loan size reduced to 20k

              • Starting cash increased to 80k

              • Power distributor added to increase coverage

              • Wave machines removed from the small pool

              • Water filter has now been connected

            • Bronze Medal Objectives:

              • Hire 1 janitor has been increased to 2

              • Pool prestige requirements reduced to 200

              • Lifeguard coverage reduced to 80%

            • Gold Medal Objectives:

              • Have 2 flat rides has been increased to 4

            • Platinum Medal Objectives:

              • Have 3 pools has been increased to 4

              • Build a coaster with a minimum drop of 40m reduced to 20m

              • Have 5 pools with average prestige of 500 reduced to 3 pools with 300 prestige

              • Have 3000 guests in the park reduced to 2500

          • Parks and Restoration

            • General changes:

              • Adjusted the block sections on the coasters

              • Coaster pricing can now be edited and are on Bargain by default

              • Just a Momento now has a Vendor 

            • Bronze Medal Objectives:

But from what I gather, part of it has to do with something concerning fireworks in the game. A few people on this site might find this of interest. 😉 We'll find out more on June 18th when Frontier officially reveals what's coming.

I would not doubt it. I think real world parks watch our stuff too (looking at you Disney with your World Discovery at Epcot).

Just don't anyone gets your hopes up. This info was gotten from remnants of a Discord conversation that had been heavily censored after many posts were deleted. A couple comments remained, one speculating on what changes this could possibly mean concerning fireworks and how the current sequencer works. The answer could ultimately be "no change whatsoever." The update might not contain anything pertaining to fireworks at all. But still keeping fingers crossed.
