Now that first shot is what I'm talking about! Nicely filled in and a great color combo, the set is also nicely lit too! Be sure to give your shots (and video) more headroom though, keep your set at the lower half of your frame instead of the dead center - after all fireworks happen in the sky so more headroom is good. Some nice updates so far!

there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really

It's amazing what a massive impact just a little bit of fire makes in a scene! Loving that second picture, Anon.

It does get things blazin' hot!

I love the set design! This show looks really advanced in terms of choreography and story to blend the effects in naturally. I do look forward to seeing how you work with the set and integrate it into the effects because there are a lot of points/spikes in the set that could be used in sequences of "chaos" to make it an even more vital part of the show.

Amazing!

As promised, the trailer's finally out! And now here's some more updates; I finally finished recording the second chapter so, on to the last chapter we go!

Before wrapping today's update, here's some more images!

I do love me some Green, Purple, and Orange color combos.  I have been out of it for a bit, but from what others have said and it's probably too late to do anything about it now, but the left and right walls being lowered on the high side a bit, would accentuate the sets appearance, and not cover up the sides, like they do now.  Glad you created something of your own.  The show is coming along nicely.  Great trailer.

Very nice trailer!  The show and colors look fantastic!  Only thing I would say is watch for those pro color blobs that the ID effects love to create when you put too many together.  I usually just make the colors really dim so that I can have the intended effect with the amount of pyro but the look doesn’t get lost in the blobs.

Clear to say that I'm 90% done with the whole show, I just need to bring all the chapters together and we're all set! And I guess I'll reveal the release date as well;

Some good news, and also some bad news. The good news is, I'm almost done putting the entire show together! However the bad news is, due to some unforeseen and sudden family vacation, I have to postpone the release by up to 24 hours. In the meantime, here's some more screenshot of the show!

Hopefully I'll see you guys later on Sunday the soonest for more updates, and possibly the release of the show!

Beautiful image! In some ways, the still shots are better than the show itself. We can study and admire the still images for as long as we want, while the show/video is ever-changing, moment-to-moment. Two different art forms; like comparing a book to a movie. They each have their advantages.

Some good news, I already got back from vacation and I'm still needing to get some stuff done but, here's some good news; I finally put the whole show together and I'm rendering the final video right now! Expect it to be released as soon as it's done!

  • Anon-P changed the title to Synchronicity - 2023 Remake [Completed Work]

First of all, a tour de force achievement in videography- the titles and the editing are excellent! And then the show itself: I loved the opening sequence with the 'call' of the single long-tailed streaks 'answered' by the colorful little sparkles at ground level (sorry, I know very little pyro terminology🫤). I also loved the fountains; how, at times, they opened their arms in a graceful sort of welcoming. I liked how the lasers didn't really call attention to themselves, but supplemented the other elements of the show, at times, acting as an exclamation point. I'll let others describe the pyro elements; I'll just say that I enjoyed seeing them; the colors, the variety of shapes, the diminuendos and crescendos. Thank you, Anon-P.

You could have sat me down on July 28th and told me right to my face that you were going to pull a 12 minute show out from scratch in less than 30 days, and I would have laughed right back and said "No way."

But. You. Did. It.

That, in of itself, is reveletory! I'll echo what @JB said above - the lasers aren't the stars of the show this time, and I think that was my expectation, but I was wrong to have expected that. In fact, I think it's quite lovely that no single element steals the attention here. All lighting, fountains, and pyro work very well together in every scene and chapter, all lending themselves equally to painting the colors and movements on the water. Visually, the show is a stunner.

Maybe it's the language barrier, but one thing I kept scratching my head about was the set. I know, I know, it's been a huge point of conversation for as long as this has been an open topic...but here's my final piece on the matter: on its own, your set is very abstract and fantasy-inspired, but I have no idea how that correlates to the story. And aside from groupings of lasers and fountains coming off of the central tower and other effects firing off of the sharp pointy bits in the midground, there was very little interaction with the set overall - especially in those taller pieces. You do a great job highlighting these elements from behind, and the barges up front are almost in constant silhouette, but the large arches you brought into the background feel like a missed opportunity to do some rapid-fire sequencing across the tops. And those large singular columns - some twinkler comets firing down from the tops might have added another level of interest. You can have a well-staged and full-looking set with lots of varying pieces as you've built here, but if they aren't utilized during the show, then they're really not adding anything to it.

These meager gripes don't make Synchronicity a lesser show. Far from it! In fact, if I could ever produce anything near as pretty and consistent (never mind how quickly it is achieved), I'd consider myself rather talented!

This is what it's all about. The fact that it's a beautiful show is just gravy on top 😊 I can honestly say that I eagerly await the anouncement of your next epic!

Thanks for the callout in the credits, by the way!

Something, sometime, eventually...

It's an interesting show with a lot of interesting elements thrown into it - definitely has its pretty moments but overall it does leave me a bit confused.

Probably my biggest gripe with the show is the storyline you have put together (or that the music puts together) - I'm not exactly sure what's really going on. With each update on the show, you've provided quotes which I would assume are bits and pieces of a larger story that will be fully revealed and concluded in the final show. Onto the actual show, each chapter also has a story title to it - there is definitely a storyline going on here but I couldn't really make out what it was while the show was playing. It could just be the language barrier and the story is directly told through the music, in which case yea that is going to get completely lost on me and any others that don't speak that language. Once the show concluded, the story did too with the reunion of the twins - I'm not sure who the twins are and what really happened but the story concluded. Again, this is probably a language barrier but if the story is told directly through the music it might not have been a bad idea to give more titles that subtly fade in and out on the corner of the screen to show what was going on for us non-Japenese (I believe this is Japanese, correct me if I'm wrong) speakers. Onto the actual show choreography, there is definitely a story happening here - you had ups and downs and a "climax" in your show (that fire sequence with a single blue effect going off which I'm assuming was to display conflict), but overall it was lost on me because the only bits of information I had to base this off of was the three chapter titles.

Disregarding the story and moving on to the actual choreography here, there are some things that worked and others that didn't. Overall the show and the choreography felt like a very good skeleton for a superb show, but just left me feeling that the show was a bit unfinished when the credits started rolling. You had filled up the forefront of your set very well, but the backline and the left and right of the set were rarely used. The far left and right of the set where you have the solid curved wall was mostly left in the dark yet the camera was panned out to show the full set while all the action, lighting, and effects were condensed into the middle forefront of the set. Adding onto what was mentioned by Kablary, the overall set interaction did get better with chapters but in the end did feel like a missed opportunity. You had some cool interactions with the sideways fans and fountains sweeping out on from the centerpiece and a couple of moments with some lighting on it but that's about it. Overall it felt like it was a first run-through on a show and felt like you had completed phase one of the choreography and were going to go back and add more to fill it up but instead released it. I know this was only made in a month, which is incredible that a 12-minute show like this was only made in a month but no one here is placing a countdown clock on your projects. Take your time and give yourself a critical eye on your projects and if you need to go back and add more or go back and redo some sections, hey that's showmaking for ya! I personally redid the introduction of The Call at least five times before finally landing on something I liked. There's no rush at all and no one will (or should be for that matter) giving you headaches for taking too long on a project.

As for the colors and lighting for your show, it definitely had its moments of brilliance. Your overall color palette was used pretty well, you have your classic blue/green/purple used for build-up and slower sections and then you have your classic red and oranges for conflict and your whites at the end for resolution. There was sometimes a random color used in some sections like a random blue in the conflict section or those fire comet effects you used for the slower/build-up parts, which could have just been used specifically for the story but that was already digressed earlier. As for your lighting, it was used okay, not bad but nothing stellar in my opinion. The lighting took a massive leap in chapter three where you introduced some movement which really added a lot to your show. Would have loved to see that throughout the entire show! Like others have said it wasn't the star of your show but it was used more to support your pyro elements, which is fine.

By far my favorite of all the elements was your water - I thought the fountains were used pretty excellently and the colors and movement of all your fountains was spot on and worked well with your music choice. I would have personally made this show a full-on fountain show with hints of pyro and lighting used to support the fountains. The fountain flowers you had in the center were also gorgeous, maybe you should try making a fountain-only show next!

The last bit that I think is worth noting is the music choice - it was an odd choice for a pyro show. While I'm not a fan of the music choice it didn't feel like a show could have been made out of it. This is why I feel like a fountain show would have worked much better with this music choice - the music had graceful swells that worked better with water instead of hard-hitting beats that are used more for pyro. I know you're probably a big fan of Vocaloid music but it usually just leaves me scratching my head in confusion, but hey it's just not my style or taste in music and if it's something you like by all means continue with it! If you attach a story to an already heavily narrative song choice in a different language, be sure to give the audience some more clues as to what's going on. I think knowing what was going on would have helped tremendously with this show. In the end though if it's something you enjoy making then by all means continue with it! That's what this community is all about, we're only here to help give you advice on what could have been improved for your next outing, but make the projects you like to make!

I'll leave you with yet another congratulations for pumping out another show, especially in such a short timeframe. While I had gripes with the show it is by no means a horrid show - the show had very pretty shots and sections! Congrats on sending out another show, can't wait to see what you plan on doing next!

I spent more than 8 hours per day working on the choreo, no wonder I got it done in less than a month

I should've quoted MGL as well on the credits, he's inspired me on the fountain part here

So just from catching up and reading other comments, I love how you took direction on the set. My first thought when I saw this was "OOH I LOVE THE SET!" And I'm SO happy you put those arches in the back. It really gives that flowy feeling that Bookworm was talking about.

As for the show, I like I like!! I wish there was more camera movement to break up the whiteouts that happened at the end of the show, those fountains can be hefty like Wolfpaw said! But overall, I really did enjoy the show and music choice! I also LOVED how you recorded in 60fps, that's something I need to get caught up on! Also, what kind of computer did you make this on? Because your video seems clear, not pixelated. I was impressed by that, considering how a massive set can diminish rendering quality. Overall, excellent!

My setup's ran on a 1070 which was considered the best during its glory days, but it's kinda old compared to today's gaming PCs. Also, there's a 'secret' tech on how you can render on 60fps btw

This show is beautiful! I think this is a showcase in itself, whether it be pyro, lighting, or fountains is completely up to you. Looking at the remarks made by @wolfpaw I can see what he is saying about language barriers and how the posts leading up to the show almost presented "chapters." The visuals were great and I think the set could be reused for a natural show. The front pieces definitely make me think of flowers which could lead to many storylines. This show is definitely visually appealing and showing it off is the right thing to do! Well done!

It took a while, but I finally sat down and watched the show.  It was VERY beautiful.  I had little to no idea what the story was but that doesn't mean it wasn't there.  I feel like if I understood the language, it would have been clearer.  I really liked what you did with the fountains.  You really made them feel alive.  The overall show felt a little repetitive at times with the firework design but there is also only so many ways you can shoot off pyrotechnics in 12 minutes, haha.  The colors really matched the mood and feel of the music and I can see you paid a lot of attention to the entire effect from launch to ending smoke.  It was fun seeing you play with the middle piece but it felt a bit flat at times, like a chorus line.  I would say try bringing some of your ground effects forward sometimes to really give a sense of depth to the set.  From your screenshots, I know it had depth, it just didn't come across in the show.  In the end, these are all nitpicks in a very solid show.  I really enjoyed watching and I can't wait to see what your next project turns into!
