It was just one of those weird internet things. I see it just fine now. ::shrug::
  2. Congrats! Sorry I missed everything, but all my vote would have done is to increase your win by 1 vote. Well deserved win!
  3. I know that I'm late to the party, (colds, being a wife and Mom, & RL stuff keep getting in the way of my fun!) but I'd like to share my RCT3 experience anyway. I was into computer games from way back. (my youngest son is older than some posters in this thread) The first coaster game I ever had was Coaster by Walt Disney Computer Software back in '93. After that I got into Bullfrog's Theme Park, then lost interest in the genre until RCT came out in '99. I met my SO a few months later and so computer games once more fell by the wayside, but when RCT2 came out in '02 we both loved it and started playing it together. With the release of RCT3 though, I was enthralled. Ever since Coaster, I missed being able to ride my coasters... and RCT3 brought that back. I bought Soaked and Wild when they came out and played through all 3 campaigns about 4 times each, but never got into sandbox play. (except to test out ideas for a campaign scenario) I only did 1 or 2 mixmaster displays that were, compared to people's submissions here, extremely simplistic, but I had a ton of fun! After a while I started downloading custom scenery and rides, but became disillusioned with the quality of some custom rides. (no cost, cheaty stats, etc.) Life got busy and raising my boys took priority, so it fell by the wayside again until my youngest graduated from high school in '23. I bought Platinum on GOG and went back to SGW to finally learn how to make my own CS... only to find that it was shutting down... which led me here! Since then I've spent most of my RCT3 time working on rediscovering the lost mechanics behind RCT3's code, trying to relearn what was lost to the community when SGW's forums were lost. (there was such a wealth of information there that never existed elsewhere, it was the biggest loss to the community ever) The problem is that I'm not a programmer... I'm a retired Statistical Data Analyst who happened to learn computer code when I was a teen. So I muddle along, learning what I can, and now mostly enjoy looking at the stuff other people are making... helping when I can and trying to encourage others in their own projects. That's my RCT3 journey!
  4. Nice detail! Usually when I have a dead area behind stalls I turn it into a break area for the stall workers. (chairs, small tables, vending machines, etc.) I make sure to use scenery to hide it from the peeps, so it doesn't break immersion. (what can I say... I'm weird! :^Þ ) Looking forward to your next update!

Don't know if it's just me, but your last update image is unviewable. :^/
  6. Must be because it's October, but that last picture with the woman standing next to the counter and a carving knife in easy reach looks like the start of a horror scene. :^þ Great job, as always.
  7. Just goes to show that new doesn't always mean better and older doesn't always mean worse. A lot of the time, new is just new. Great job, @Anon-P!
  8. Has to start and end with Mickey's Halloween Party at DL Anaheim. Took our boys there a number of times back when we had annual passes, even though the party tickets cost extra. We had SO much fun! I got to be Alice to my older son's Mad Hatter! I know I've posted this up before the last time this topic came up, but I just can't help myself! That day was just so... perfect! ::sigh::

Agreed! Lots of attention to detail going on in this new area. (not saying you didn't have attention to detail in your other areas... I mean... I'll hush now!)
  10. Block brakes are great for working out pacing. Just a little nudge up in speed when you need it and nudge back down to keep the train from running too fast goes a long way. :^) Again, not a gripe... just a pointer from someone who's made a LOT of coasters in RCT3! :^Þ
  11. Excellent video and coaster! I love the use of elevation to enhance the feeling of speed, but (if I may be so bold) it would come off a bit better if you reduced the launch speed a tad. You shove out so fast you miss a lot. Not in any way a gripe or anything, just a suggestion! :^Þ Great job! Love it!
  12. I love the themed areas, but could really use a pulled back view to see the whole park and how it all fits together. Keep it coming!
  13. Best of luck to you and your father. I'll say a prayer for you both. --,-'-@ <3 <3 <3
  14. Honestly, I prefer reading about the park with great stills and maybe a POV video at the end. @PS Vision Gaming's Salland's Adventure Zoo writeups are just about perfect. If they went into even more detail describing the park as you watch it take shape, it couldn't be any better. I also like "in universe" details... history of the park... rides that once brought in crowds that were torn out or re-theamed because the public lost interest... etc. It's immersive and really grabs your imagination. Very rarely will I download someone else's parks... usually because once I've seen it, there's not much else to do with it. (unless the write-up isn't that detailed... in which case I probably won't download it because I haven't seen enough) All in all, I just love looking at what people think of to do that hasn't been done a million times before. That's the beauty of games like RCT and PC... there are almost no limits. Hope that helps. :^þ
  15. I use Shyguy's Main Street sets all the time without any issues, so it's more likely some other issue. (possibly an issue with combinations of mods that includes Shyguy's Main Street sets) Just FYI. :^Þ
  16. I use StationJim's stuff all the time. They're probably my most used CS sets in all of RCT3. (those along with Shyguy's Planters) High quality models without overdoing it with a high degree of reusability in a wide variety of situations.
  17. Absolutely agree! It was just something I'd noticed and was curious about, why people do the things they do. I'm mostly thinking of content creators. Comments are always better with actual conversation taking place, but Reactions are how people get extra kudos like "Winning the day" which makes people feel appreciated for their contributions to the site. I'm not saying that people should change their behavior here, just wondering about the why of it all. (call it feminine curiosity if you like :^þ )
  18. Been away a week or so while I was helping my older son move into his new apartment. There were a bunch of new comments I had to catch up on. In the process, I realized something. Many times members left good comments about a post, but didn't leave a Reaction to the post. Reactions are not being used as often as I feel they should be, especially when someone posts up something really good that gets lots of positive comments and yet has almost no Reactions. This feature is a great boost to content creators that drive site activity, takes almost no effort, and yet seems highly underutilized here. I make it a point to React to every post I read that I like, especially when it adds content to the site. An open question to all members: If you don't leave Reactions every time you read a post you like, why not?

That drone seems to have hit a guy's head on the 1st fly-through. I'm surprised it didn't knock the drone out of the air. :^þ Seriously though, I really love your layout! First rate!
  20. You already have a lot of the ones I would mention. Here are a few I didn't see: - The original opening scene shown in the Coming Soon ads showed an attractor similar to RCT2. This was replaced in the release version to a slideshow. - Baby animals inherit their parent's Social stat. (i.e. if you have a pregnant lioness with an 11 Social, all her babies will have an 11 too) - All of the OVL files in the game can be edited to change an object's stats, except for Style\Vanilla\Style.common.ovl and Style\Vanilla\Style.unique.ovl that contain the original flat rides. These files are protected by a checksum and if they are altered in any way the game will refuse to launch. The expansion pack flat rides and all tracked rides and scenery lack any sort of checksum. It's unknown why Frontier locked only these two files to prevent editing them. Hope that helps. :^)
  21. Welcome to the site, @cookiecrispwizard! I'm loving your progress on Great Adventure and would love to see more from you soon!
  22. I feel so betrayed! Here I was thinking that you were crafting all this in the game... and now it comes out that you're just taking photos of a construction site and using Photoshop to make it look like a game! The anger! The angst! The... ... Oh. I misunderstood? ... Nevermind! :^Þ
