  1. English translation: -------------------- How to create a catalog of packs. I currently have 160 packs in my game and some of them install objects anywhere in the game. So it is impossible for me to remember in detail what each pack contains. But what I wanted was to be able to quickly find a specific object. For example, if I want to find a particular lamp, all the lamps installed in my game appear so that I can make my choice. The solution? It is very simple: a catalog that is displayed on a tablet. It is very easy to create and use. All you need is a tablet, equipped with an image viewer that displays them classified by folders. Here is how it works: We open the application that displays all the categories that we have created (Themes, Materials, Objects, Vegetation, etc.) In each category, we have created subcategories. For example, in the "Materials" category, we have the subcategories: Windows, doors, blinds, walls, etc. For our example, let's imagine that we want to install a blind on a building: So we will click on the "Blinds" subcategory of the "Materials" category. And all the blinds that are in our game, regardless of where they are installed, will be gathered on the tablet screen. And for each blind, the name of the image will give us its location in the game. The 8-page brochure "how_to_create_a_catalog.pdf" explains in detail, and step by step, the creation of this catalog. In addition, it is not necessary to list all the packs we have at the beginning to use it. We are the ones who choose what our catalog will be. I hope my explanations will be clear and that this file will be useful to you. But if some need help or explanations, I am at your disposal. Have fun and good luck! May our common passion for RCT3 last for a long time.

    Gorgeous! Like a picture postcard!
  3. Having grown up in the high desert, I guess I'm used to "dreaming of a brown Christmas". It rarely snows here before mid-January, though it does get well below freezing most mornings. Even when it does finally getting around to snowing, we rarely get more than an inch or two. Three years ago was wild... we got 2 feet in 3 days of almost constant snowing! (that's about 3 times our usual annual precipitation) Of course, this year we got the typical Christmas Eve rain... for about 10 minutes. Now all the newbies are running around like chickens with their heads cut off saying, "IT'S A DROUGHT! WHERE'S THE SNOW?" SMH. Anyway, Happy New Year everyone!
  4. Been too busy getting ready for Christmas to see this sooner. (we're hosting the whole family this year... parents... my sister and her husband... my sister-in-law... both our grown boys... etc... I have a big family) As to my favorite holiday park experience, I don't really have one. We very rarely travel during the holidays since my extended family all live nearby and we're 500 miles from Anaheim. Back when the kids were little, we managed to get to DLA once and I really liked the Christmas Fantasy Parade... until the float of Goofy's Kitchen broke down right in front of us. We waited far longer than reasonable for it to resume and ended up hearing the audio loop for that segment about 45 times. It was freezing cold (43°F which for SoCal is almost record-breaking) with 100% humidity and a stiff breeze and we wanted to go, but after everyone else along the parade route did we didn't have the heart to just leave those poor CMs in the parade that kept right on dancing with a smile. (though thinking about it, their dancing was probably the only thing keeping them from going into hypothermia) To this day my SO and I can still recite all the lyrics to that section of the parade. It will haunt me for the rest of my days. :^þ As for movies, the original "Miracle on 34th Street" has to be number one. There are tons of others we watch every year, ("The Lemon Drop Kid", "White Christmas", "Christmas in Connecticut", etc.) but that ranks #1 by far. When it comes to music, I really love "An Old-fashioned Christmas" album by The Carpenters, but I also really love Manheim Steamroller, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, and a thousand others. We have a Christmas playlist that has over 500 songs and lasts more than a day without repeating a track, so we never tire of a song being overplayed. Right now I'm listening to Maynard Ferguson's, "A Concord Jazz Christmas" as we wind down to rest for tomorrow's festivities. Usually though, older is better. Silent Night makes me misty every time. Merry Christmas everyone at PC!
Kinda weird writing a review for a file I uploaded, but it's not actually my CTR, I'm just the one who put it on ParkCrafters. :^þ I love this CTR! I almost always use the Mk I that's shown in my profile banner and as the preview pic for this download. It's exceptionally well done. My main complaint, and the reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5, is that the trains hold so few passengers per car. Each could easily have fit 16 or more Peeps. This relates to my only other issue with the mod... the car interiors are extremely bare and minimalistic. If the interiors were as detailed as the exteriors, this would easily be my favorite CTR of all time.
  5. Had to watch it a 2nd time, just to catch all the action! Your attention to detail is astounding, as always. :^)
  6. Hope this helps! :^)

I'm assuming here that this is a custom scenario that you downloaded from somewhere. It would be helpful if you let us know where you got the scenario. Did it come with instructions? More info needed to help. :^)
  8. I see what you mean, but honestly it looks fine! I know you're a stickler for details, but really it looks good!
  9. RobertaME replied to Wowman's topic in Projects
It was just one of those weird internet things. I see it just fine now. ::shrug::
  10. Congrats! Sorry I missed everything, but all my vote would have done is to increase your win by 1 vote. Well deserved win!
  11. I know that I'm late to the party, (colds, being a wife and Mom, & RL stuff keep getting in the way of my fun!) but I'd like to share my RCT3 experience anyway. I was into computer games from way back. (my youngest son is older than some posters in this thread) The first coaster game I ever had was Coaster by Walt Disney Computer Software back in '93. After that I got into Bullfrog's Theme Park, then lost interest in the genre until RCT came out in '99. I met my SO a few months later and so computer games once more fell by the wayside, but when RCT2 came out in '02 we both loved it and started playing it together. With the release of RCT3 though, I was enthralled. Ever since Coaster, I missed being able to ride my coasters... and RCT3 brought that back. I bought Soaked and Wild when they came out and played through all 3 campaigns about 4 times each, but never got into sandbox play. (except to test out ideas for a campaign scenario) I only did 1 or 2 mixmaster displays that were, compared to people's submissions here, extremely simplistic, but I had a ton of fun! After a while I started downloading custom scenery and rides, but became disillusioned with the quality of some custom rides. (no cost, cheaty stats, etc.) Life got busy and raising my boys took priority, so it fell by the wayside again until my youngest graduated from high school in '23. I bought Platinum on GOG and went back to SGW to finally learn how to make my own CS... only to find that it was shutting down... which led me here! Since then I've spent most of my RCT3 time working on rediscovering the lost mechanics behind RCT3's code, trying to relearn what was lost to the community when SGW's forums were lost. (there was such a wealth of information there that never existed elsewhere, it was the biggest loss to the community ever) The problem is that I'm not a programmer... I'm a retired Statistical Data Analyst who happened to learn computer code when I was a teen. So I muddle along, learning what I can, and now mostly enjoy looking at the stuff other people are making... helping when I can and trying to encourage others in their own projects. That's my RCT3 journey!
  12. Nice detail! Usually when I have a dead area behind stalls I turn it into a break area for the stall workers. (chairs, small tables, vending machines, etc.) I make sure to use scenery to hide it from the peeps, so it doesn't break immersion. (what can I say... I'm weird! :^Þ ) Looking forward to your next update!

Don't know if it's just me, but your last update image is unviewable. :^/
  14. Must be because it's October, but that last picture with the woman standing next to the counter and a carving knife in easy reach looks like the start of a horror scene. :^þ Great job, as always.
  15. Just goes to show that new doesn't always mean better and older doesn't always mean worse. A lot of the time, new is just new. Great job, @Anon-P!
  16. Has to start and end with Mickey's Halloween Party at DL Anaheim. Took our boys there a number of times back when we had annual passes, even though the party tickets cost extra. We had SO much fun! I got to be Alice to my older son's Mad Hatter! I know I've posted this up before the last time this topic came up, but I just can't help myself! That day was just so... perfect! ::sigh::
  17. RobertaME replied to Wowman's topic in Projects
Agreed! Lots of attention to detail going on in this new area. (not saying you didn't have attention to detail in your other areas... I mean... I'll hush now!)
  18. Block brakes are great for working out pacing. Just a little nudge up in speed when you need it and nudge back down to keep the train from running too fast goes a long way. :^) Again, not a gripe... just a pointer from someone who's made a LOT of coasters in RCT3! :^Þ
  19. Excellent video and coaster! I love the use of elevation to enhance the feeling of speed, but (if I may be so bold) it would come off a bit better if you reduced the launch speed a tad. You shove out so fast you miss a lot. Not in any way a gripe or anything, just a suggestion! :^Þ Great job! Love it!
  20. I love the themed areas, but could really use a pulled back view to see the whole park and how it all fits together. Keep it coming!
  21. Best of luck to you and your father. I'll say a prayer for you both. --,-'-@ <3 <3 <3
  22. Honestly, I prefer reading about the park with great stills and maybe a POV video at the end. @PS Vision Gaming's Salland's Adventure Zoo writeups are just about perfect. If they went into even more detail describing the park as you watch it take shape, it couldn't be any better. I also like "in universe" details... history of the park... rides that once brought in crowds that were torn out or re-theamed because the public lost interest... etc. It's immersive and really grabs your imagination. Very rarely will I download someone else's parks... usually because once I've seen it, there's not much else to do with it. (unless the write-up isn't that detailed... in which case I probably won't download it because I haven't seen enough) All in all, I just love looking at what people think of to do that hasn't been done a million times before. That's the beauty of games like RCT and PC... there are almost no limits. Hope that helps. :^þ
