Bites O' Fyre | A Collection of Pyro Shorts | WIP
Thank you so much for calling the difference out, JB! When I was planning out the FCR pans, I noticed early on that I was losing some of the "front stage" and aerial effects, so I decided to include the stationary camera so that the effort wouldn't be lost. A million thank yous for appreciating the inclusion of both! Like I mentioned a few weeks ago, I have absolutely no game plan for these things! I just wing it, so I too cannot wait to see how they turn out 😅 Thanks Anon! I think I told you a few days ago that I still preferred Fun to Bark, but after completing this short show and hammering out that green finale, I've finally come around to loving this one over the former. Thank you for all of your support throughout the creation of this show! You are undoubtedly the single greatest asset and source of inspiration we pyro peeps have. DON'T EVER LEAVE US! I foolishly left out a special THANK YOU to @Bookworm91 and @wolfpaw for lending their editing talents to the some of the effects used in this show. Bite O' Bark wouldn't have been nearly as powerful without the altered fire whips you two provided. And since I did this for the last show, I thought I'd do it again - the infamous hyper-expanded MixMaster. This shows every effect placed, minus the beginning and end of the longer fog bits.

What other hobbies to you have?
My boss got a kitted out Bronco Sport last year and still fawns over it like it's his newest child. Planning his off roading trips is his second-favorite activity, only beat by the actual trip itself. So it seems that once you 4-wheel, you ALWAYS 4-wheel. 😝

My old RCT3 park projects from the SGW era
Some of those pictures are so crispy and fantasically themed - I thought I was looking at a PlanCo topic for a second! I think my favorite from that post is this one:
- Marriott's American Adventure (Returns) (Again)
- Renee Feu Adventure Park
-
Disneyland Park Colorado
THIS! I couldn't quite place why this park looked so unique in the theme park sim world (at least from what I've seen), and apart from your wondrous ride theming, it's definitely the interactive landscape! There's a beautiful touch of realism brought to the park when you have actual steps leading you from one elevation to another.

Renee Feu Adventure Park
SUCH A BUMMER you have to remove all of that hard work to continue working on the park. I remember reading that @citytrader and @Wabigbear had to do the same for their massive parks. Is it at least easier to clear out scenery in PlanCo than in RCT3? As most of us remember, the multi-delete tool only worked on vanilla scenery and almost nothing custom or imported. I've often elected to just forfeit progress on a save file and start over rather than spend the time deleting every individual scenic item one by one....

Thank you all so much for your praise on that camera shot! I think I need to tweak it a bit more, but overall I'm getting much more familiar with the FCR. I had considered water fountains when building the set, but ultimately decided I would save those for a future show, probably Spook since it will be in-the-round. I will leave this last little teaser as the final update before releasing the show in its entirety.

ModsToTheMax Modules Restoration Project
Ultimate Ride! What a throwback. I remember you talking about this on Discord now, and I think that inspired me to acquire a disc copy on eBay. Sadly, I don't have a disc reader, but it's nice to own a piece of nostalgia like that. This is one of those games that I would have never guessed had an active modding community, especially considering how dated it is. I'm sure many people said the same about RCT3, too 😝 It'd be great to see some before-and-after pictures to really highlight the changes that were made to the game!

Community Update #2 - September 30, 2023
I LOVE ALL OF IT! Thank you for your tireless dedication to the site, Wolfie! You've built a wonderful home for all of us theme park sim misfits. Simfits? I sincerely hope more of the old guard make their way over to ParkCrafters (you know who you are if you're reading this and you're not a member). But the group that has settled in and called this "home" is an awesome bunch of creative souls! Super great to see so much consistent activity across almost every forum. And 1M+ site visits?! That's nuts!!! Challenge accepted.

Community Chat Discussion Question 2: Best Theme Park Halloween Event?
Living in SoCal, I've done almost all of the local Halloween events except for Castle Dark, Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld and Fright Fest at Six Flags. I can absolutely attest to any park's event being different based on how you experience it, though. My top contenders are Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood and Scary Farm at Knotts. Horror Nights just can't be appreciated in its entirety if you aren't splurging for a "fast pass" ticket. No matter what night you go, you'll be stuck waiting in line for a single maze upwards of 40 minutes. I've seen those wait times skyrocket to 3 HOURS at their peak. No matter how good the maze is, it just isn't worth it, because you literally can't accomplish every attraction with wait times like that. We've done the RIP Tour a few times now, however, and that not only guarantees you get to do all the mazes, but you also get shuttled around the lower lot on your own trolley, you get a super yummy buffet, and unlimited 'express lane' access throughout the night after the tour ends. They also get you "preferred" seating at the shows, but we've yet to see a show that was worth waiting for anyway. It isn't cheap, but it's nice to be able to do everything and feel a little "VIP" along the way! Thes past few seasons we've gone, the street ambiance has been super sparse between the main drag after entering the park pretty much all the way down to the lower lot, and calling a "scarezone" a "maze" is a slap in the face....but I don't know if that's still an issue this year. In 2021, the mazes felt "meh," and that was a huge bummer. I've only seen video of one maze (the Chucky one) and it looks like an absolute blast, so I'm really excited and trying not to spoil anything more for myself. We'll be going later in October! Knotts has upped their game many times over in the last 5 to 6 years, which adds a lot of value to their more economically-priced tickets when compared to Horror Nights. Knotts' mazes are now lengthy, highly-detailed, and well-staffed (Mesmer's premiere year was mind-blowing amazing), and they directly compete with Horror Nights' quality most of the time. Here again wait times can creep up into the 2-hour+ mark, but that's typically on weekend nights during the back half of October. Actors will regularly patrol the queues and keep patrons scared and entertained, which is a great element that I don't often see at Universal. Knotts' ambiance beyond Ghost Town Streets leaves a little to be desired, though, but they have a bevy of shows that - again - adds value to their ticket cost. Puppet Up! is stupidly funny and almost worth the cost of entry alone. We'll be going to Scary Farm in a couple of weeks! A Saturday night ticket at Knotts with the 'fright lane' add on is about $300 a person. Comparatively, the same ticket option on the same night is $400 at Universal. The RIP Tour adds another $140 onto that, and it comes with food, soft drinks, access to exclusive cash bars, and the guided-tour. Knotts also has a food option ticket, but we've yet to opt for that. I have heard both amazing and horrible reivews about the "boo-fet" at Knotts, but since we live down the street, we just get the fright lane tickets and head home when we've done everything. Although several years ago, we did Dark Harbor at the Queen Mary, and while we made it fun (the included drink vouchers with our tickets helped with that), it wasn't an event we felt was worth doing year after year. Dark Harbor dried up in 2020, but came back as Shaqtoberfest last year. So where do I stand? I think I always look forward to Horror Nights more, but am often left feeling a tad disappointed once I'm there. Whereas I have lower expectations of Knotts, but am usually pleasantly surprised once in the park. Universal has a more premium experience that comes with a much higher price tag, but Knotts offers a much better bang for the buck. Typically we would only pick one park to visit in a season, but this year we're doing both, so I'll have a final decision after we've come back from the final haunt!

I have been very happy with the colors after getting used to them, and I'm glad you think they're working well together! And my goal is to not have to rely on a battery effect EVER. I know there will come a time where I need to use them, but I'm trying my damndest not to! Hit me up! I usually procrastinate for a solid 3 to 4 months so the sooner you get in touch, the safer for your project 😅

Marriott's American Adventure (Returns) (Again)
The 4:3 aspect ratio and grainy overlay you have on those RCT3 pictures really does lend itself well to the vintage nature of the photos! It's so fun seeing a well-documented park from the game in 2023. See the following from OP: As much as I can't wait to see how it's developed into PlanCo, I really hope we get several more RCT3 updates 🤞

IDOL - An Oshi No Ko RCT3 Pyro Show [Completed Work]
An RCT3 Pyro/Lyric Music Video! Definitely a first of its kind. Super fun and neat idea, for sure! Though I must admit I'm conflicted about the massive text overlaid all over your choreography....I think you managed to incorporate it well, having large, blocky, transparent font that doesn't completely cover the action happening behind it. But for me, I'm the type of person who gets stuck reading subtitles (what a concept) and missing what's happening on screen. So even though you can plainly see the effects going off, all of that is lost on me because I'm focused on reading the text. That's not your problem, it's mine. As I said on Discord a few days ago, you lasers are definitely back up to par! Those strobing beams add an exciting energy to the show - I felt like a raver kid again at 2:31. (I was never cool enough to actually go to a rave - I just threw dance parties by myself in my garage)

Losing a friend
I am tremendously sorry for your loss 😔 He sounded like a young spirit, taking a Switch to an overnight security job! I think a dedication in the game you and John shared is a wonderful tribute. Take all the time you need. We’ll keep the site warm for ya.

Marriott's American Adventure (Returns) (Again)
It's amazing that a then-fledgling hotel chain managed to secure the funds to build a mostly-fleshed out amusement park...complete with theming for some attractions, no less! 😉 Honestly I think the transition from RCT3 to PlanCo suits the time-tracking modernization of the park. Will be fun to follow this along!

Octane | A Rage-Fueled Pyro | WIP
That last warning got to me! 😅 Haha, no worries - this is very much simmering on low heat on the back burner. And when you DO get back to RCT3, I hope you'll share with us your new content! Thanks for those awesomely kind words, Wolfie! It is kinda funny how it's become my one project to rule them all. I better not screw it up 😬 Technically, I've mapped out my next 3 shows after the Bites series... 🤫 But so far, the only work I've done for this is remaster the soundtrack and whip up a new logo. Eventually I will have to completely rebuild a new set!

My Past RCT3 Projects From ShyGuy's World - Wilhelm1407
Wilhelm, you might have the largest database of CS on hand to use, and perhaps the greatest knowledge on how to use it effectively. Totally jaw-dropping!
