COMMUNITY UPDATE #8 - May 1, 2025

Welcome to the second community update of the year - the anniversary edition! We've got LOADS of new features, fixes, and events coming up to help celebrate the second anniversary of ParkCrafters this May! From competitions to awards, there's a lot to cover here, so let's jump in!

Canvas Clash returns this month with signups open from May 1, 2025 - May 8, 2025. Deadline for submissions and voting will open from May 26, 2025 - May 29, 2025 with the winner being announced during the live 2025 ParkCrafters Awards

ANNIVERSARY THEME

To help celebrate the second anniversary of ParkCrafters, the site has a new theme! Colors, images, backgrounds, and effects have all been added and changed to help reflect our event of the year. The anniversary theme will run from May 1, 2025 to June 1, 2025. I hope you enjoy the new look and feel! If you would ever like to return to the default theme, scroll to the bottom of the page and on the bottom left, select 'Theme' and then 'ParkCrafters Theme'. We also supply the option to swap between light and dark theme above the theme selector.

AND THE PCA GOES TO...

The long-awaited 2025 ParkCrafters Awards is finally here! This community-wide event helps celebrate the anniversary of ParkCrafters along with all of its members and projects from the past year. It will all culminate in a LIVE show to crown this year's winners!

Staff has reviewed every project that has been posted/worked on/released from April 2024 to March 2025 and determined nominations for 13 award categories. How are the winners chosen? By you! Once nominations and voting open, the community votes on who they think deserves the win for each category, and then all winners will be announced on our live showing of the 2025 ParkCrafters Awards.

The ParkCrafters Awards just isn't for announcing winners, we also have some new goodies we'll be showing off during the show as well regarding the ParkCrafters community. If you would like to debut any trailers, teasers, or announcements for any projects during the live award show, please contact @wolfpaw and we can include it in the run of show! Be sure to attend to see what's coming to ParkCrafters in the future and to check out new trailers and announcements from various members!

The full official list of nominations, along with public voting, will be released and open on May 12, 2025. Voting will close on May 26, 2025 with the live show happening on May 30, 2025! Be sure to mark your calendars and save the date. We hope to see you there! More information regarding the 2025 ParkCrafters Awards and exact times for the live show will be released once nominations and voting open.

OUR STAFF TEAM GROWS!

As ParkCrafters continues to expand, so does the staff team! We are now opening applications for an active member to join our moderation team here at ParkCrafters between May 1, 2025 and May 8, 2025! Be a part of the staff, help shape the community, and give input and opinions on upcoming features and events as a moderator. If interested, please send @wolfpaw a personal message on either ParkCrafters or Discord that you are interested, along with the following:

Username
Discord Username (If applicable, Discord access is preferred)
A list of games you create content in that we host on ParkCrafters
Your timezone
Any graphic design skills that you may have (Photoshop, GIMP, Illustrator, Video Editing skills) - This isn't mandatory but always appreciated!

If interested, please keep the following in mind to join our staff team here at ParkCrafters:

As a moderator, you will be expected to act maturely and respectfully towards all members and content posted
You must be an active member of ParkCrafters (login and view the site at least three times a week)
Have a positive attitude and take on tasks that may fall to you to better the site or deal with issues
Creating content in the games we host is not mandatory, as long as you're active, you will make a good fit!
Work with other staff members to come up with ideas, features, and events to promote activity and the overall well-being of the community
Willing to help out around the community when needed
Willing to help and moderate content posted on our Discord Server when needed

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENTS

At the beginning of 2025, we launched an overhaul of the community's UI/UX. We are now at a pretty happy state with the site, and we feel a lot of members are navigating through the community much more easily. When we launched this massive update, some features were lost due to compatibility issues. I'm happy to announce that the following features we had from before this UI/UX update have now been reinstated and are available to everyone:

Custom login handlers such as Steam and Discord
Content History to view past topics, events, and files viewed
Downloads page has been redesigned for easier navigation
Donations have been added back

Along with those features that have been reinstated, we also have a ton of new quality-of-life features that have been added!

Members list gets a revamp: Our old members tab was just a bare bones list of members that didn't show much information or have any sorting abilities. Our new members tab allows you to search through all members, sort them by activity, name, or other queries, and view the top members of our community. Main sidebar menu gets an update: Our main sidebar menu on the left had a lot of unnecessary links and was overall confusing to use. We've reorganized the menu items so you can have direct access to the various pages and forum categories now. We've also included a new 'My Activity' section that shows all activity related to your account and a live feed of the entire activity of the community! We've also added the ability to collapse the menu in case you want to focus more on the main content of the site.
Who was online: At the bottom of the main homepage, you will notice a new block of information that has been added, titled 'Online in the Past 24 hours'. This new feature shows who has logged in and visited the community in the past 24 hours, along with a total counter. Let's see if we can currently break the record of 112!
Server-side improvements: ParkCrafters continues to grow both in size and activity, and with that comes improvements! We have made the following improvements to the server and site:
- Allocated CPUs for ParkCrafters increased from 1 > 2
- Allocated RAM for ParkCrafters increased from 1GB > 4GB
- Available Storage for downloads on ParkCrafters increased from 50GB > 100 GB
- Available Bandwidth for ParkCrafters is now UNLIMITED

SO MANY BUG... FIXES!
