During the nineteenth episode of The Addams Family, "The Addams Family Splurges," Whizzo is introduced to the world. Having been built by Gomez and his son, Pugsley, Whizzo resides in the Addams family's playroom. In this specific episode, he's used to calculate the cost of a family trip to the Moon. Then, in usual Addams Family fashion, Gomez uses his beloved computer to predict the winners of horse races for the vacation budget.

Whizzo would be featured again in the second and final season of the series. The episode "Gomez, the People's Choice" features the Addams family as Gomez enters the race for their town's mayoral seat.
