Wowman Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Well, I have been playing around the past few hours with the new game and I think I'm ready to start building. My first park will be Garden of the Gods. This is primarily because of the theming currently available. I have always had on my list of possible parks to build to include a Mythological gods park, so now is a good time. I plan on making smaller parks that what I always did in PC. They will still be detailed and filled in, but maybe a bit smaller so I can get through all the ideas swimming in my head and on my checklists. (we'll see how this plan holds up). This first park may also be a test park to get used to the game, controls, features, etc., so no idea how this will actually turn out. Plan: The mythological gods will have their own sections of the park, but will want to gain ground on the other gods and battle for more space. I plan on having Norse, Greek and Roman god themes, but there will be dueling rides throughout where the borders cross and the gods battle for new land. I was going to call the park Battleground of the Gods, so it may still change later on. Not really planning on having any waterpark features, but we'll see how that goes. (yes - I'm also still working on my other PC and zoo parks, so this should be fun keeping all this straight and all projects moving along). Stay tuned as I make progress..... 1 1 Quote
Wowman Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 Here is a basic layout. Roman to the left, Greek to the right, and Vikings in the middle. Quote
JPTV Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Ahh, the overview has me fondly recalling your first post for Brookfield Zoo, a man with a plan! My first project also seems to be going with the mythology theme although I'm getting my feet wet (somewhat literally) with a waterpark. You are already well ahead of my build progress with that entrance area, and I'm anxious to see what you do. On a related note, my folks used to live in Colorado Springs and Garden of the Gods was visible from their front porch (not because they were close but because of how tall it is!) I've always loved that name and I like the idea of making a different kind of park with it. :) Quote

And yes in a way - that is what inspired this name. Quote
Wowman Posted November 11 Author Posted November 11 Started working on the entry plaza. Entry gate indicates that this park will have Greek, Roman, and Norse themes. I made an attempt to have different style pillar tops, windows, etc. to indicate the different themes on each side/section. 1 Quote
wolfpaw Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Can't wait to see how this develops, your PlanCo1 parks were stunning so I"m super excited to see what you'll be able to do in PlanCo2! Your entrance is already beautiful and I already see some rides in the back there Quote there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really
Wowman Posted November 12 Author Posted November 12 THX. Those rides are just place keepers for now to give guests something to do while I design and build. 2 Quote
Wowman Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 Added some additional walls along the side edges, along with plants and more design details. 3 Quote
Wowman Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 Made a few cosmetic updates. Added curbs, caps on the walls, and changed the colors of the sign. 3 Quote
Wowman Posted November 17 Author Posted November 17 Here is the backside of the entry gate. The blue arrow and shop will be a park gift shop. I don't plan on detailing out this shop at least right now. The orange arrow on the other side will be guest relations, where there will be stroller, maps, umbrellas, and lockers. 2 Quote
Wowman Posted November 19 Author Posted November 19 On the Greek side of the entry plaza...here is the completed Guest relations building. Strollers, Wheelchairs, and other needs can be picked up here. BTW - I'm loving the custom sign options in the game. Quote
Wabigbear Posted November 19 Posted November 19 (Missing the 't' in 'strollers'...) Yes, it's so nice to have better fonts to use for signs...much more versatile! Quote
Wowman Posted November 21 Author Posted November 21 Added some lockers to the side of the guest relations building. These are on the workshop if you want them. I also put a couple vending machines on the back wall to get guests to enter this building. 1 Quote
Wowman Posted November 25 Author Posted November 25 Heading to the left you will enter the Greek gods side of the park. You can pass under the archway (or walk along side of it) and head towards Mt. Olympus. There is also the Apollo Head Gear shop located here. A rocky water fall centerpiece separates the paths between the Greek and Norse pathways. 1 Quote
wolfpaw Posted November 26 Posted November 26 The colors of everything is what jumps out at me, this theme is spot on! Knowing you, your night shots are going to be like twice as beautiful as the daytime shots so can't wait to see what this will look at night. 2 Quote there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really
Wowman Posted November 27 Author Posted November 27 Couple night shots of the entry plaza/entry gate. Quote
Wowman Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 Here are a few more night shots inside the Greek plaza area. 1 Quote
Wabigbear Posted November 29 Posted November 29 Do the waterfalls and fountains still become almost invisible at night? The might shots are gorgeous! Quote
Wowman Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 Short answer...yes, the night lighting for water seems to be the same, or close, Long answer is...I really need to experiment with it more. Quote
Wowman Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Sliding over to the center of the plaza area is the archway leading to the home of the Norse gods....Asgar. 1 1 Quote
