Not an expert or professional by any means. It's just something I like to do as a hobby.

I mainly shoot landscapes/cityscapes/nightscapes. Occasionally, I also like to deviate into other forms of photography.

I'll periodically post a photo here and there.

I hope you all enjoy!

Golden Silk Orb-Weaving Spider (Trichonephilia Clavipes)

Found in Southern USA and Mexico, these spiders are quite common. This particular spider was part of a massive cluster that lives among the high tops of giant cactus native to the mountainous sierras of central Mexico.  This female spider can grow as large as 2 inches without counting its legs (up to 5in. in total incl. the legs), and males about a quarter of an inch. They are mildly poisonous, but completely harmless if left alone.

Haha

You mean you don't wanna deal with the snakes, scorpions, spiders, coyotes, and a plethora of other bugs that may or may not kill you?

Oh my... It's not THAT big!

Certainly not a tarantula.

It's not that big! lol

Although, we do also have large spiders that just live on the walls. People usually leave them be because they are a form of pest control.

Gin these photos are spectacular!! I love how you play with exposure and lighting. What kind of camera and lens do you use? Me personally I love mirrorless bodies!

Thanks! I'm glad you like em'!

I'm a loyal Nikon DSLR user. I personally haven't used a mirrorless body before. By the time the mirrorless cameras started to make a 'scene' (pun intended) in the market, I had already had my taste in the heavy, durable body with the satisfying sound of the trigger of DSLRs. To this day, I very much still enjoy them. I also seldom use its video features, so the incredible video capabilities of the new mirrorless would go unused if I were to invest in one.

For lenses, I mainly use prime lenses - it means less interior pieces and moving parts, and a more steady and clear image.

---

I'd really like to see some of your work using a mirrorless someday!

Fun Fact: That blue beacon on top of the left-most building is actually a weather beacon.

Solid Blue: Clear Skies

Flashing Blue: Clouds Incoming

Solid Red: Rain in the Forecast

The quality on that photo is insane, everything is super sharp - what camera/lens did you use?

Thanks!

I used my Nikon D850 w/ a 50mm prime lens.

I also used a more narrow aperture of f/16 to keep everything in focus, and a 30sec. exposure time to let in enough light. I kept the ISO at 64.

Photos from Mexico City

The first photograph was taken over the city's main Avenue (Paseo de la Reforma) behind the Angel of Independence Monument. It's the city's most iconic avenue, like that of the Champs-Elysée in Paris, Broadway in NYC, or Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

The 2nd photograph was a close up between the towers of the expansive city limits. It was incredible to see how unbelievably massive this city is. I was located somewhere in the middle of the city, so imagine that behind me and on either side of me as well. A city metro of over 22 million people developed over 700 years.

I took these shots on a 30th floor hotel balcony I believe. I already wanna go back..

Side note: Usually, people are able to walk up the monument in the first photo and sit, relax, and take pictures, but it was closed for refurbishment. You can see the barriers in the photograph.

SUMMER IS HERE!

Spring Sun Over the Charles.jpg

Photo taken in Boston, MA.

Residents and visitors enjoy the early warm weather (finally) along the Charles River Esplanade.

Across the river you can make out the famous "Great Dome" of MIT's Engineering Library.
