December 31, 20231 yr HOLY CRAP ... from the dedicated gaming room to building home theaters to playing guitar for 20 years to raising a dog that barks in Portuguese ... HOW DO YOU GUYS FIND TIME TO PLAY RCT3 ??? I tried my hand at paper modeling (years and years ago) and found that it wasn't to my liking ... I like my styrene insteadthe scale railroad modeling is something I have always wanted to do, but either I lacked the money (but had the space) or had the money (and lacked the space) ... could never put the two together at the same time haven't played golf since my high school day (and that time goes back a few years ... ok, alot of years) (OKAY ... a few decades ago) I got into cooking ... pretty good as a home-taught chef when it comes to Italian, Tex-Mex and some German dishes ... French - not so good at love baking, actually had considered opening up my own cookie store, but the initial cost was far beyond what I was capable of coming up with, so that idea went out the window (money woes again !!!) my main hobby, plastic (styrene and some resin) modeling ... kit bashing ... very little scratch building I have loved RCT since its conception way back in 1999 ... RCT2 was a fantastic game ... custom content seem to pour out of everyone ... I even added an animated horse trough at some point ... I remember RCTMart (MidwestBoyInLA and the gang hanging out in the Hillybilly Joke area) ... Amazing Earl and his custom content ... and a slew of other sites that came, saw some light and then faded away then came RCT3 ... and the ability to actually walk through the parks and ride the rides ... WOW !!!
December 21, 2024Dec 21 So another hobby/pastime I spent a lot of my life with is running a trivia game. I have been doing this for like 20 years or so now. Its all played for fun and managed through email. I have tried to move it to more of a website based set up a few times, but it has never panned out the way I wanted it. There are abut 54 players in the game right now. Actually, I have a couple openings right now if anyone is interested in officially joining the game. If you are interested...Pop me a note and I can get you set up. Anyway, its a multi choice question (usually) and an email goes out about every 4 days or so with 2 questions. Players have about 4 days to answer those questions. We are fully on the honor system as it all for fun and bragging rights only, but I usually do send out awards at the end of each season. No researching, I ask that all players answer with what they know in their head as if they were in front of cameras and judges. Over all these years it has gone pretty well. Each game is 16 questions (usually with a bonus question), each season is 16 games. BTW each game is usually about a specific topic, like Geography, TV, Movies, etc. There are playoff rounds as well with the top players going head to head in the Trivia Bowl at the end of each season. I also keep track of the results in a huge spread sheet...yes I'm obsessed. Here is a taste of my questions. These are the two Current questions out there for players to answer. Technology is the topic: Around 1982 we first heard this new word for an amazing new technology… A: Camcorder B: Internet C: Email D: Cell Phone When was the first telephone installed in the White House? A: 1877 B: 1898 C: 1911 D: 1924
December 21, 2024Dec 21 Trivia questions: I bought my first camcorder in the late '70s (although I'm not sure it was called a "camcorder" then), so I don't think that's the answer to your first question. I think they had 'mobile' phones in 1982. In order to have a cell phone you need a cell tower, and I'm not sure they had those in '82. In order to have an email you need the internet. So, I'm guessing, B: Internet. Second question: I know the telephone was invented in the late 1800s. And the first White House phone was probably installed a few years after that. So I'll say B: 1898. Of course, when you did a version of your trivia game on Shyguy's World, I almost always got the answers wrong. All the choices seem plausible to me. My hobbies: I've been cooking since i was 4 years old, or thereabouts (I'm 71 now). Like TrimoParks, I play synthesizers, piano, organ... any keyboard instrument (by ear). I got into computer programming in the late 1970s with an Atari 800, and continued in the mid '80s with a Atari 130xe. My avatar (Ricky Rat) is a an 8-bit character I created for a maze game that I made around 1990. I've also dabbled in oil painting, digital photo editing, magic tricks, illustrated books, and a bunch of 'other stuff'.
December 22, 2024Dec 22 In addition, I play roblox mostly, and i'm also a marvel, DC and godzilla fan and railfan.

December 23, 2024Dec 23 ^See? I told you I almost always get it wrong. Like I said, all the choices always sound plausible to me. 🙃 (But it's still fun!)

Posted some videos on YouTube a few years ago.One of my shorter videos: Maiden has been my favorite band since Middle School. So awesome to see that! I’ve probably owned at least 7 guitars and my style is pretty much blues and Maiden inspired metal with some hard rock. Been playing guitar since 6th grade. I’m 29 now. Smooth tremolo sound and sweet Adrian Smith signature! Up the Irons!!! \m/
May 20May 20 Oh boy… Where do I even begin?I make hiphop, rap, r&b, and pop music. It’s all up on every major streaming platform and SoundCloud of course! My best song, “Burnin’” was featured on 104.5 WRFU indie radio in Urbana, Illinois. Once DJ BJ Clark heard it for the first time, he played it 3 times and then gave me a phone call interview and I was really nervous, lol! Super cool though. The song is featured in my Beachside Bay Preview video. I have made 40 songs so far.Ok… Weird… Last time I checked my Spotify listeners count it was 9 or 10, now it’s 53. Interesting. Lol.If anyone would like to listen, here is my Spotify :)Xecronius - SpotifyI also made a fake gold record to help keep me motivated, but haven’t been feeling it lately. Funny thing is the record is a Jonas Brother’s record I painted gold. I have most of my albums in frames as well on my wall. As you can see, I am a bit obsessed with California. I’m originally from there but have been in Colorado for 20 years this October._______________________________________I make videos as well! My most recent one is from my visit to Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colorado this past Friday with my best pal! Super fun day! My videos are created with most of the editing process already done while filming. I don’t like to mess around when it comes to making videos look as professional as possible.I have made videos for a few music venues, The Wild Goose Saloon in Parker, Colorado, one in particular was an ad for Drowning Pool, (Everyone knows the song, “Let the bodies hit the floor!”) along with Saliva when they were on tour last summer, and The Englewood Tavern, as well as a few spots in Utah! Comic Con SLC was a blast! Here is that link for the Elitch Gardens video as well for your interest! I emailed Elitch’s marketing team just for fun about the video.A Fun Day at Elitch Gardens!_______________________________________I have been working on a tabletop PvP battle board game along with it’s RPG video game counterpart called, Zeradia!I have never even touched DnD, Magic the Gathering, or any other card game besides Yu-Gi-Oh! When I was a kiddo. Here is Zeradia! If anyone would like me to explain the game’s mechanics, please feel free to ask! :) it’s very simple, but intense.I got the battle cards printed on a custom game card website. The board is made from a wooden base, poster board castle walls, towers from marker caps, tooth picks and duct tape for the flags, (removable to fit in the box) and 50 custom character trading cards!I’ve been told by a few game shop owners that they would like to see the game on their shelves, but lately I haven’t even been motivated to make music, just dealing with life. Anywayyyyyy…Here is a screenshot of the RPG version of Zeradia! The game is being put on hold for now, but I use RPG Maker MZ.Here is the concept map that sparked the idea. This map, including the rocks, trees, and grass texture for the board game are all hobby train landscape pieces. The mountains with the gold mines are rocks and aluminum foil, the stalagmites and ground for the boss dungeon are paper machete and baking soda for the snow. The tents are little pieces of foam which leads to my next showcase…_______________________________________IRL RuneScape weapons! Made from EVA foam, paint, duct tape, yarn, etc.Dragon Longsword, Abyssal Whip, a single Dragon Claw, and a DDS aka Dragon Dagger Poison ++.From left to right, Hitpoints Cape of Completion aka Lvl 99 (Max Cape), Elysian Spirit Shield, Fire Cape, and my personal favorite, an Armadyl Godsword.(I have a hilarious story about my first Bandos Godsword where I got scammed in game many years ago.)______________________________________I have been playing guitar for 17 years without a single professional lesson. I have been in 3 bands and the third, I am the bassist. Gone through 9 guitars and I don’t own a single one, but here are some of my old setups._______________________________________I also collect swords, knives, a dagger and a nearly complete suit of armor._______________________________________I also do voice impressions. Lol. That’s about it. Cheers!Xecronius
May 20May 20 There are some very creative people here.My past hobbies have included model building (Wonder World, Disneyland Main Street, Big Thunder Mountain, and original designs too) drawing, painting, designing computer RPG games, playing and composing music for the keyboard, and running online forums 😜.Today, besides building theme parks in Planet Coaster, I visit all the theme parks and attractions in Southern California on a regular basis, especially enjoying the special events at each park. I am an avid CRPG player and have been since the 90's. I am fascinated by the history and development of computer/video games. I own literally thousands of games, and enjoy playing ancient games as well as modern ones. I am also a mega movie buff, and also into the history of film. I've watched 1000's of movies, dating back from the silent films to the present. I am fascinated by how the movie industry has evolved from the early B&W silents, to sound, to color, how the Hays Code and Legion of Decency affected the industry and how it changed once the code was abolished, the development of visual effects in film, and how the movies today are total crap compared to the days of old.And there's also home projects, ranging from setting up a mini home theater, to upgrading the bathroom, kitchen, keeping up the yard, and painting what needs painting. These are not the favorite of my hobbies, but satisfying nonetheless. "Do you think it's just sunshine and singing and pretty colors when you grow up? Well I should say not." --Hattie Dorsett (Sybil)

May 21May 21 I'm a Disney nerd.🤓Also Knott's, SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Legoland. Haven't been to Universal for years, but plan to go soon. Not a fan of Six Flags, as my stomach can't handle big coasters or spinning flat rides. And Magic Mountain had gotten pretty ghetto...poor service, bad food, gang warfare. I think they've cleaned up the gang problem, but the park still has major issues. Hoping the Cedar Fair/Six Flags merger will benefit the park. I haven't been in probably 20 years. I might go again, just to experience it one more time. "Do you think it's just sunshine and singing and pretty colors when you grow up? Well I should say not." --Hattie Dorsett (Sybil)

My trip to Elitch Gardens was a blast too. The middle-schoolers had their field trips there and there were so many of them, haha! But I haven't been to Disney since I was 9 so that is way overdue. Haven't even been to DCA either. Shame. Not excited about the World of Color though, that's just me though. Feel free to chat with me on Discord too! I'm always active. Cheers Shy!
May 21May 21 "Existing" is my favorite hobby...and I'm quite good at it...so far anyways!Unlike many others when I play video games I pretty much stick to one and devote a lot of time to it. Currently of course it's Planet Coaster 1. I do have other games, but seldom spend much - of any - time with them. In fact I own both Planet Zoo with all it's expansions, and PC2, but other than opening PZ and looking around in PC after each update for a total on maybe a couple hours. I put in a lot of hours playing PC, as well as a lot of hours spent creating TMTK for that game. I consider myself the OSUDenny of Planet Coaster, which I consider a compliment. Denny was prolific creator of CSO in RCT3, and like him I'd never consider my creations as being great, nor even good, but they suit MY purpose and if anyone else found a use for them then that was great. I'm not skilled at Blender or any other program, but thanks to people like Ms.RedNubula sharing their 'how-to videos on YouTube I was able to figure out simple things anyways! We live in one of the largest cities in the world, so there's plenty to do, if and when we choose to do it. I've gradually adsorbed the Portuguese language well enough to comprehend most of what I read and a good share of what I hear, and even partake in conversations occasionally other than just nodding my head in agreement and adding a 'nossa!' from time to time...We have a English Cocker Spaniel named Buddy or 'Bu' for short as they pronounce his name as 'Boo-day' here. Not as bad as the pronumciation for my name "Bob" which is "Bob-ee"...a name I haven't been called since I was five...Bu was a rescue from an abusive home, has severe non-operative cataracts in both eyes but has adjusted well to going about 90% blind now. He's my shadow. He's quite intelligent, and is in fact bi-lingual, since I use whatever language comes to mind when I talk to him. Our day includes heading out for walks 8-9 times a day which are sadly fairly short as my arthritis worsens, but we still get his snif-faris in, all while avoiding street people's use of the sidewalk for lavatory needs and the hordes who work here downtown during the day. We live on the 18th floor of a highrise condo in Centro, São Paulo, in the midst of close to 30 million folks in the Metro area so it can get a bit hectic at times.Bu is our third pup after losing both Molly, our English Springer and Duque, the Handsome Dude™©, another Englsh Cocker, to cancer a couple years ago, both were abandoned dogs, which sadly is a problem here. After the Pandemic we're back to our schedule of annual trips to Orlando and semi-annual ones to Los Angeles and then back up north to Washington State. Being retired at such a tender age has it's benefits. We actually have yoga sessions here in our condo every week with an instructor, which helps with the arthritis while awaiting knee replacement surgery in a month or so... May 21May 21 Thanks for the bio, Wagi. Hope your knee surgery goes well and that you have a swift and complete recovery.
May 21May 21 I guess this thread has revived, I may as well add my two cents.Contrary to popular belief, I'm not THAT old, but I am retiring next month after 20 years of working with special needs students, both emotional and learning disabilities. I know I'm really going to miss it! Prior to teaching, I was a MCSE {computer geek) for quite a while. I installed specialized software packages into printing presses, some as long as football fields, in order to have the computer manage the printing process, retrofitting older presses. I experienced some severe hearing loss working around those beasts for ten years.Other than that, my wife loves those porcelain houses they sell around the holidays, and we have set up numerous displays over the years. I also have a number of old Lionel trains that were my dads, which come out every year to go around the Christmas tree, and one day I will probably combine the two into a model railroad.
