In this update, I completed the road salt storage shelter. I added various details, such as lighting, solar panels on the roof, and additional finishing touches to the building itself. Side panels were also installed to provide better protection for the salt.

I have started building the road salt storage shelter. The entire structure is now in place, making the foundation of the building clearly visible. From here, I can continue with the details and finishing touches.

The vehicle shelter has now been fully completed. Additional functional details have been installed, including a fire extinguisher for safety, an EV charging station, and a cabinet housing the inverter for the rooftop solar panels.

I have added several objects to the utility walls, including an air hose with a connector, an AdBlue filling station, a cable reel, and an emergency stop to shut down the wall in case of emergencies. One wall has been left empty for now; it will be addressed in the next update.

No, I'm not a city planner or an architect. I mainly base my work on photos from Google or real-life buildings and objects, and sometimes I ask ChatGPT for help. My goal is to make everything look as realistic as possible, even if it may not always be technically accurate, as I don't have the expertise for that.

In this update, I focused on constructing the front support structure of the vehicle shelter. This included not only the vertical supports but also the framework and detailing underneath the roof itself. To enhance the functionality and sustainability of the design, I also added a series of solar panels on top of the roof. These panels contribute to a more environmentally conscious build and add an extra layer of visual interest to the overall structure.

In this update, I started working on the vehicle shelter. The structure of the building is now in place and has a modern look. The front pillars still need to be added, but the overall shape already gives a good impression of the final result. I'm not entirely satisfied with the roof texture at this point, I might change it later on.

In this update, I’m building a mockup of a vehicle shelter and a salt storage facility. These elements are important parts of the maintenance area I’m designing. The mockup helps me test if the scale, shape, and layout fit well within the rest of the area.

Adding more details is definitely the intention 😉

In this update, I’m working on the layout of the highway maintenance area. I start by outlining the overall setup: where the vehicles will be parked, how the area is accessed from the highway, and where the supporting facilities will be located. Next, I work on an important feature of the site: the retaining wall. It helps manage elevation changes and provides structural support along the edge of the area. Finally, I build a transformer substation, which supplies power to the surrounding area, technically, it doesn’t belong to the maintenance facility itself.

This is the final step around the viaduct, where I’ve decorated the entire area with foliage. I also added extra details along the staff path, such as utility access covers, marker posts, and a smoking booth for the staff. [img]

Around the viaduct, I added some extra details, including a storage container for grit and salt, as well as a wheelie bin. I also placed several bollards along the curb to prevent illegal parking and enhance staff safety. To finish it off, I added a parasol to provide some extra comfort on sunny days.

Update 5 is a major and important update for me, allowing significant changes to the map. For example, I’ve removed the curbs and made the traffic lights functional. In addition, I’ve placed a height clearance meter at the viaduct and added mobile light towers to both the on-ramp and off-ramp.

In this episode, I finish the mobile light tower. The main feature of this trailer is, of course, the light tower itself, including the associated lamps. The tower can be manually adjusted in height and can also be rotated by hand. Additionally, I’ve added the company name to the trailer and included a few extra components, such as a lock and a wheel chock. https://youtu.be/SDI2VZuCjsM
