The Wonderful World of OZ
Professor Marvel would of course probably spend a lot of his time with a traveling carnival, right? All set up and ready for suckers, I mean customers; [img] One of several restaurants in the park, this one sells standard American fare: Hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. [img] [img] Marvel's Marvelous Monte Leone; [img] Marvel's Death Defying Trapeze; [img] Marvel's Marvelous Balloon Ride; [img] More to come!

The Wonderful World of OZ
Well, now that we have solved that issue. A quick peek backstage; [img] One of the horses need a little cleanup before heading out to the park. Hidden by the Coca Cola billboard is the paddock for the resting and feeding horses. They only work in two hour shifts, then four off. I wonder if I could get a job like that? [img] A couple of workers hang out near the rear of the fire station. Mowers, sweepers, forklifts, and utility vehicles all lined up to clean up the park after closing. [img] Some of the storage warehouses and workshops backstage; [img] Cold storage warehouse; [img] The prop and costuming departments; [img] The junkyard; [img] And finally, OZ Corp central offices, parent company CW, Inc.; [img] Wagi, of course, has the entire top floor to himself.

Based on what we have seen so far, I believe that is exactly what we will get. Duplicate expansions with no "new" content at all.

The Wonderful World of OZ
Funny you should mention that! As we move further into the land of "E Pluribus Unum", the business names do change. All the shops are named for people involved in the classic 1939 film. Margaret Hamilton, the wicked witch, Hamilton's Department store; [img] Victor Fleming, one of the three directors on the film, famous for chewing cigars, of course gets the cigar shop; [img] Jack Haley, always dapper and well groomed, played the tin man, is memorialized in the Haberdashery; [img] Bert Lahr, the lion, a fancy little bistro; [img] Richard Thorpe, the original director, was fired after two weeks on set. He is represented in the Hardware store; [img] Frank Morgan, who played the wizard himself, as well as the guard, the doorman, and the driver of the horse of a different color, has a notary office; [img] Backing up just a little bit, here's a shot of the horse drawn carriage; [img] [img] And a closer look at the horse barn; [img] Of course, at the top of the street sits the forbidding home of Almira Gulch herself. She doesn't like to be disturbed! [img] Not quite Cinderella's castle, is it? 🤣 Maybe a quick peek backstage next!

Sorry, been in and out of the hospital three times over the last week with my mom! Now, where were we? Looks like Gulch owns a lot! [img] Library, Pawn Shop, Bank, even apartments. [img] Looks like the Ice Cream and Gift shops are still not under her control; [img] The Baum Museum that houses various personal items that belonged to Baum as well as some props from the classic 1939 film. But no ruby slippers! The Smithsonian said no! [img] The opposite side of the street has the horse trolley barn and City Hall; [img] More Kansas soon!

A: A massive combination of chemicals Something about coating the fabric. My mother always used plain baking soda. Said it worked better and didn't damage the cloth. I missed the Lemon and lime question, but that's ok as I had no idea what the answer was!

Entering through the main gates; [img] Weather looks bad. Hope we don't see a tornado! Welcome to Kansas; [img] Looks like the fire department is testing some of their equipment; [img] Typical Main Street; [img] Sporting Goods and local newspaper; [img] Looks like Almira Gulch owns the newspaper. Wonder what else in town she owns? [img]

I've used the same argument for years for indoor attractions, tiki room, Hall of Presidents etc. Just use the foyer, then a box or boxes peeps could pile into, set the duration, excitement, etc. And it's done. Quick and easy. Not sure why this couldn't be implemented easily, but Frontier does not seem to hear.

For JB, a couple more shots of the main gate; [img] [img] I wonder what wonderful things await us inside? [img] We would be remiss if we didn't back up a bit and show you all our amazing parking lot! This "interesting" sign beckons you to visit; [img] The charming entrance gate; [img] The west parking lot! I added cars, crashed the game, reopened, added cars again, and got the screenshot before crashing again! [img] Trust me, the east parking lot is pretty much the same! Another view of the parking lot approach to the main gates; [img] Just in case you've forgotten where you are; [img] Kansas is coming up!

The Wonderful World of OZ
Haven't been around all that much as my mother has not been doing well (she's 92!) but it has occurred to me that we never actually released this bench. So over the next few weeks, I'll be presenting a visual tour of bench one which includes Main Street Kansas, the Gale family farm, Professor Marvel's World, and most of Munchkinland. As you may or may not recall, we based this park more or less on some plans that were developed back in the 90's by the Goddard Group to create an actual OZ park outside of Kansas City. Political intrigue and zoning issues prevented the park from being built. We have obviously taken a huge amount of poetic license with the original plans, but Wagi and I are very proud to present this park for everyone's enjoyment! Looks like the crowds are starting to grow on opening day; [img] Free park maps or you can download the park app; [img] Ticket and information booths; [img] It's a beautiful day! [img] Heading toward the main gate; [img] Overview of the parking area and grand entrance; [img] The three hundred or so cars have been removed from the park for obvious reasons! We'll enter the park next time!

Community Chat Discussion 16: Best holiday to celebrate in the parks?
I'm ashamed to say that I have only been to Busch Gardens Williamsburg VA during the holidays. They advertise that have more than a million lights. I can believe it! Truly beautiful, and each area of the park is decorated differently. Italy is very understated, all white lights, Germany has an enormous tree, and one area, I believe they now call it Holiday Hills, looks like every tacky lawn contest you have ever seen just dumped all their decorations in one place! I've never seen so many blow molds in one place in my life! Not all the rides are running, but the food is terrific, and they really go all out! Colder than heck, but definitely worth the trip!
