Is anyone into LEGO bricks here?

LEGO bricks are something that I played with since I was a kid, and they unlocked my creative potential at an early age. I would follow the instructions for each model on the manuals, then create my own builds from scratch. It still happens today, but more rarely.

Those days, because LEGO kits are expensive and cumbersome, I tend to do them digitally. I made several creations using LEGO Digital Designer while it was supported, and I want to do more using Bricklink Studio in the future. All my creations can be found on my own website.

One of the remaining kits that I still own is the #8048 Buggy. It features a functional 4-cylinder engine on the back, rotating wheels and suspensions on the front and the back. With that kit, I wanted to create a monster truck using the suspensions and the engine on the front instead of the back. I made a first attempt at it, which I was not very proud of. Yesterday, I got inspired by Master Builder Alec, who once encouraged builders to take existing kits and experiment with them as much as they can to make something creative. That's what I did again, using a building process that I've watched Master Builders use of going section by section and optimizing from there, and now I perfected my second model. Here are some screenshots of it:

I was into LEGOs when I was a young girl, but when I got to be a teenager they all got packed away until I could give them to my two boys. Eventually they were all claimed by my youngest son, who's now too old and busy to play with them as well... so they'll likely end up passed down to HIS kids someday.

It's the cycle of LEGO life!
