Back to the show after that interruption...

Heading back up Main Street towards the front entrance. we come across a side street next to City Hall - W. 1st Street. This marks the entrance to our residential street area. Here period homes show how families lived in each decade of the late 1800's to the early 1900's, complete with new inventions from those years... Think of it as a stationary Carousel of Progress...where YOU move and not the stage...

E. 1st St becomes Elias Place at the corner...

Right behind the City hall is a vacant lot that runs from E. 1st to E. 3rd Street...currently offered for sale...

Some of the local kids have made use of the lot, scrounging up old lumber and odds and ends from construction sites...There's an air of excitement in town, as the poster show, the Mickey Mouse Circus is in town at the Storyville Fairgrounds!

And here we find the local branch of the Mickey Mouse Club! Nxt door is their playhouse, where the neighborhood kids put on shows, just like the Mouseketeers would in a few years time on those new fangled tele-vision machines!

For now they are more like an Andy Hardy movie...

The clubhouse is based on real Disney Imagineer artwork shown below. Both structures I envisioned extending under the hill, hiding their bulk...

At the other end of Elias Place on W. 4th Street, there's a service building with restrooms, first aid, etc.

Next door there's a shop selling Mexican food (see? No bakery...), a Drug Store...

And on the corner there's a Photo Supply Shop...need film for those Brownie cameras everyone's bringing this year!

On the other side is a Penny Arcade...Uncle Walt feels no one should leave the park with any spare change in their pockets!

Across the street is the beautiful City Park, where many a courting couple has found themselves sitting together on a bench at the scandalous hour of 8 o'clock in the evening, only to have Officer Paddy Wagen remind them to be on their way while h protects the young gal's virtue...

Further into the park there's a playground for the wee ones and picnic tables (no doubt needed with all those bakery's...)

But back across the street is our next destination...the Storyville Fairgrounds, currently hosting the traveling Mickey Mouse Circus!

While we wait have yourself a chocolate eclair or stop by for a haircut...there's shop for either close by!

These houses are great! I love the detailing, like the gingerbread and the hedges, and other landscaping. The many colors are nice, but not garish. Is the "Elias Pl." / "3rd St." street sign leaning a bit?

Love the make-shift clubhouse. I'm looking to see if I can spot Spanky and Alfalfa. (Annette and Cubby won't be around for a couple more decades.)

"Drink Coca-Cola", "Drugs", "Sodas". Early on, you got a twofer: Drugs in your soda! But they discontinued that practice before this park's era. "No bakery"... Aww shucks. And I was craving a doughnut, too. Oh well, the Coke will go well with the tacos and burritos next door.

"Uncle Walt feels no one should leave the park with any spare change in their pockets!" Uncle Walt is sounding a lot like Mr. Wonder. I love the look of the Arcade.

Lovely update. I'd love to live in the residential area. Maybe a sweepstakes with the winner getting to stay overnight in that quaint little neighborhood. Something like Disney has done in the past, in the future. 🤔 (This park's future, our past. 😁)

Before we head on into the Fairgrounds, here's a mixed bag of some night-time screens shots of areas we've already seen during the day...

Billy Bob and Officer Joe wait for the last train to roll in with any stragglers before the park closes...

Meanwhile gift shops remain open to vacuum up any stray bills or coins in one's pocket on the way out...maybe a cold bottle of Coke as you walk back to the main gate?

Baby Care Center is still available to change any soiled nappies before making your way to your car, bus or streetcar...fellow passengers will be most appreciative!

Looks like the Vintage Shop closed...no late shoppers for secondhand pantaloons or mismatched china tea cups...

Lily's Boutique has a sale on Princess ball gowns if you're interested...Disney Collection next door has Alice pinafores if that's more your 'cup of tea'...

Or maybe a bound collection of Carl Bank's Uncle Scrooge comics at the Book Store? I actually have one...in Portuguese. He was very popular here in Brazil...

Meanwhile over on residential street, you can hear parents tucking their young ones into bed..."Good night MaryEllen! Good night Jason! Good Night John Boy"...oops...wrong show...

Look's like some turned in early...it IS after 9 o'clock in the evening!

Lights are off in Doc Pritchards garage, so he must have parked the ol' Tin Lizzie for the night...but the porch lights are always on for late night emergencies...

The Drug Store's closed for the day...

While Matilda still has the doors open airing out the Photo Supply Store after her assistant Earl made the unfortunate decision to partake of All You Can Eat Burrito Night at the Taco joint just down the block...poor woman.

I really do like nighttime in this game especially when we figure out how to manipulate the lighting to our needs.

I agree, night time can really shine in PC1. Especially for things like interiors where you can't really view them very well during the daylight hours because of the way glass works, but at night...

As promised - or threatened, depending on your point of view... - we now head to the Storyville Fairgrounds, where the traveling Mickey Mouse Circus has set up...

Just through the gate and they don't waste any time trying to sell you popcorn! Oh well, as long as we're here anyways...

Looking to the left we see a Venetian Carousel, a fancy swinging kiddie ride and a circus tent that's a spot to meet and greet...something.

In the background looms the Cyclone Coaster...

As well as a small Funhouse... (Again, please excuse the textures, they are cranked up but this large bench and my computer don't see eye-to-eye on them...)

Back when we worked on Disney Adventure, Vampiro kindly gave me access to his textures used on his Striped Wall TMTK set, I made some additional pieces for that park, and added some matching roof corners for this park...

Various Disney animated characters are available for taking snapshots with your trusty Brownie camera, or a professional photographer can capture the moment for you...

Headed the other direction we find numerous game booths...

Tired of doughnuts? Well, you've come to the right place! Carnival food galore at it's greasiest best!

Even that marvelous food from the future - Fried Twinkies!

It's a warren of loud noises and delightful smells...fried onions anyone?

Even more games of chance and small amusements to tug at your heart...and your wallet.

The lovely station for the Cyclone...a permanent fixture here at the Fairgrounds...

(Needless to say a Workshop find...I can't design a coaster if I even tried...and I won't. You can thank me for that...trust me...)

Here's the circus Big Top. Closed at the moment, but rehearsals are going on...looks like the Amazing Luigi's are practicing their high-wire act... (held outside because they trapeze is too tall to fit inside unless lowered into the ground and then the trapeze artists get dragged through the ground...*sigh*...)

Cast member Jeb from Toledo won't let us inside...

Amazing what a neatly folded ten spot can do when passed from one to another...

The Whacky Shack is another permanent attraction here...

As is a Helter Skelter...

The path here climbs up to the Old Town Railroad Station, we'll visit that later...

Instead we'll check out the Fairgrounds barns, currently housing some of the Circus animal performers...

Horses and Camels...(horses on the right in case you didn't know...)

And a barn for the pachyderms...

The Giraffes won't fit, so they enjoy their own paddock...

Since the Circus isn't open yet , we'll explore the rest of the park while we wait... There's the City Park again...complete with it's daredevil steep slide...

That fancy Municipal Comfort Station at the right, the green building is the Streetcar Barn, while the red building houses the City Shop...

But across the street is our next destination - Tink's Kiddieland...

We'll visit there next time...

I love how you merged the temporary elements with the permanent ones. Dirt paths and knock-apart booths next to the Cyclone and other permanent park features. I looked for inflatable piles-o-poo as game prizes, but no such luck. Why not? You have deep-fried Twinkies and Oreos! ;-) Did you build the Clancy's booth (and others)? Or were they Workshop finds? Those booths look great! And I agree with Wowman, the crooked Wacky Shack looks awesome.

So glad that you told us the horses were on the right. I was about to comment that those camels, on the right, look too dark! And, on the left, those horses look awfully lumpy. Wonderful Fairground area. Thanks!

Great update. I especially liked the Mickey Mouse Club Circus with the trapeze artists performing out front. I'm not sure what Walt would have thought of the midway section. I don't think he cared for the cheap game and food booths, with the barkers beckoning guests to throw their money away on games of theft, er chance. But as Wonder might say, "Who cares, he's dead."

Please tell me you have the Mickey Mouse Club theme playing 24/7 in this park.

I am in love with this concept and this park is a next-level park in terms of details, which has become the norm with your creations. Well done as usual!

The game booths, food booths and the Whacky Shack are all Workshop finds. I did tweak the interior and backside of the Whacky Shack, but the front facade is original... I'm a firm believer in partaking of designs other very talented people cared to share...especially when I couldn't do a better job myself. I do tweak many of them to fit my needs, but the basic structures I just build on. Yes, there ARE some buildings I built myself there too.

And actually there were "inflatable piles-o-poo as game prizes", but I removed almost all of them...this IS a Disney Park after all! And shyguy is right, Walt was known for his dislike of the 'seedy side' of amusement parks...we'll just pretend all the games were free to play and the food was all Health Department approved...

Your facades and building work are so detailed and gorgeous... really don't know how you do it. This project is turning out lovely so far, you're nailing that aesthetic and style of classic Mickey!

Ya puts yer money in and the critter rocks back and forth for a minute... kid is happy... the end. Only.... this elephant is TALL! How does the kid get up there? Does the parent just toss the kid up there and hope for the best? And there's nothing to hang on to! It's gonna be a short ride, ending in broken bones and cracked skulls... and lawsuits!

Silly! Everyone knows back in those days the parents simply lifted the elephants tail and there was a rubber flap over a hidden door back there, you stuffed the kid inside, dropped a nickel in the slot and enjoyed your five minutes of peace and quiet from the little rug-rat's insistent whining. The elephant didn't move...it was just sound-proof.

Since the layout of the park can be a little confusing (I certainly is to me at times?), here's an overhead view of the part of the park we've explored so far.

Note on this bench I removed most of the structures outside of the park itself...

As threatened...errr...promised...we'll next visit Tink's Kiddieland...a spot meant - surprisingly - for kiddies!

If you get close to your monitor and squint you might make out the life-size Tinkerbelle on her sign...

Once past the gate you'll see an expanse of welcoming asphalt! No expense has been spared to provide a hard, unforgiving surface for the little tykes to play on...

Complementary Mickey Mouse brand Band-Aids are available...

Various playhouses stand ready for imaginative play (Reminder: Do NOT to play 'Doctor' on Park property - Strictly Enforced! )

The finest rides for children have been gathered together here...

Tink's Kiddieland Express circles the area...although it looks like adults have hogged all the seats again...

Kiddie Teacups...and in the background another of our favored Elephant Rides...bet there's a couple ankle-biters stuffed inside even now...

Although there's no sign of any parents waiting for their five minutes of peace to end...maybe they're riding the train ride?

Actually the entire Kiddieland seems devoid of...kiddies. Maybe it's a school day?

Well, enough of that, we'll slip out the side entrance and continue on. The backside of the Car Barn is across the street...

The Plaza Restaurant will be opening for lunch in a bit....well noted for their "finger lickin' fried chicken!"...a nice change from the doughnuts and Coca-Cola we've been eating up to now...

But while we wait next we'll visit the Animation Plaza next door...

Haha. I'm pleased to hear that complimentary Band-Aids are available. Of course, Tink herself doesn't need a soft, safe, foamy surface; because she flits above it all! I wonder if the asphalt continues inside the playhouses? Perhaps they're strewn with something more yielding, like shards of broken glass? Like you said, "No expense has been spared"! The playhouses do look nice. I'm sure the kids will love occupying them. Can't wait for the turf wars to break out!

I had to look close to spot the train with the adults; it sorta blends in with the asphalt. Didn't we see that static 'duck' ride in one of you guys' other parks? Looks familiar. (Maybe they're seagulls?) Ah yes, another Elephant ride. Such a genius concept; stuff the kiddos inside the sound-proof pachyderm for a couple of minutes... or hours, so the parents can get a little respite! Those Teacups look nice, but man! They sure eat up a lot polys/parts.

"the entire Kiddieland seems devoid of...kiddies". They're all stuffed inside the Elephant; parents know a good thing when they see one.

Your Plaza Inn looks (intentionally) a lot like Disneyland's restaurant.

Another familiar face from the old forums—it's great to see everyone here and see projects continuing!

Nice work so far! I especially love the children's area. So many people designing parks in Planet Coaster and RCT tend to overlook these spaces. The reality is, most parks around the world don’t just have big roller coasters. In fact, kiddie and junior coasters, along with smaller rides, are far more common than the larger attractions.

I’m also really impressed by the last two pictures—the building looks fantastic!

Yet once again (I know...*groan*...) we head back for our tour!

The next area was something I came up with to fill a large empty spot on the bench. I had seen a really fantastic blueprint of the Toy Story Mania ride at DisneySea in Japan by Banjotails , but it didn't really fit into that space, so I moved some parts of the blueprint around, duplicated a section, rotated it and added it on. There wasn't enough room to add an actual ride, but I came up with the idea of turning it into "Animation Plaza", a spot dedicated to Disney animation where there are character meet & greets, classes on drawing characters, and a theater showing Disney shorts. There's also a cafe, shopping, and restroom facilities. So while the basic structure maintains all of Banjotails clever designs, it serves a very different purpose here...

Inside the main gate there's a plaza (duh...)...

To the left the Big Cheese is waiting to greet you...

To the right Minnie and Pluto are on stage. There's also restrooms and Clara Cluck's Nursery for "Lil' Peeps"

Just past Mickey is Claribelle's Cafe...

There's outdoor seating, and at the end is a stage where you can meet Donald Duck. Portraits of famous Disney characters line the walls...

On the opposite wall movie posters from Disney's feature films are displayed...

Of course there's a small shop selling Disney apparel and other themed items...

Next door is the entrance to the Mickey Mouse Theater, which shows many Mickey Mouse and other Disney animated shorts...

Looks like "Puppy Love" and "Plane Crazy" are today's features...

Next door there's two Animation Studios, one where you learn how animation is created, the other where you learn to draw different Disney characters yourself...

Through the portal you come to a secluded courtyard with food and beverage vendors, lot's of benches, and an antique pipe organ playing familiar Disney tunes...

The exit from the Mickey Mouse Theater is also here...
