Posted March 12Mar 12 Welcome to Oakwood, a family ran funfair turned theme park. Oakwood has recently been purchased by an investment firm. They have already invested heavily in the theme parks infrastructure by revamping it's oversized car park and proving adequate access via the main road. They have also made a significant investment by building a brand new Intamin Megasplash for the upcoming season.Oakwood is currently a park of two halves. The left side is the classic park with beloved attractions that date back to the parks original opening, over 30 years ago. The right, where Tidal Wave is situated, is 'new' land that the investment firm has acquired from the local farms. If this season is successful enough, the investment firm are looking to overhaul the entire park and shift it to a more focussed Theme Park rather than the classic regional park it is today.I started building this before the announcement of Oakwood, Wales' closure, alas, the name has stuck here so I am rolling with it.The starting car park is from the workshop. March 13Mar 13 Author Trip Report - First day of the new SeasonThe park opened at 9am, on the dot, it was tipping down with rain. The rain continued to fall for most of the morning. This was particularly annoying as there no large indoor areas/rides to escape the downpours of the UK.I thought, as I am already wet I'd try Tidal Wave to start the day. Sadly this was closed for the day as it had not been signed off by the technicians as they had hoped. I was spited on day one! It looked great though and the theming was on point.IAs the morning turned to the afternoon I finally stopped wandering around the park and got one some rides. First stop was Treetops. A family coaster that wound its way through a clearing of natural forest. The sun even came out.For lunch I stopped off at BBQ and bits. All reasonably priced. After lunch and some more wandering I finally got on the star attraction. Whilst it's no spring chicken, the ride packs such a punch and would give modern woodies a run for their money! Of course I re-rode this a few times!Twin Looper was what you'd expect for a ride of its age. It's full of rattle and nostalgia. The water effects were all turned on over at Tidal Wave on my way out of the park. Alas, the ride did not run. As dusk fell I walked back to the Car Park. Full of hope for the future of this park. Fingers crossed Tidal Wave opens soon as the park clearly has high hopes for the ride, it being right at the front of the property. It does also beg the question, how long is left for Wild River if there is bigger, better, more thrilling splash ride in the park? Time will tell.Until next time! YouTube
March 14Mar 14 The Oakwood Rattler looks like a great traditional wooden coaster. I would have ridden it several times as well. Again, I really like the look and feel of the Woodland Walk.Oh! I see you used the "Courier" font. I didn't know we could change fonts now! (I just figured out where to do that! It's sorta hidden.) Edited March 14Mar 14 by JB
March 14Mar 14 Your coasters and scenery look fantastic! 😄 To enhance your already well-crafted buildings, you might try adding some extra details like wall trims and moldings. It’ll help make them stand out even more. Keep up the great work! 😊

The Woodland Walk provides a nice separation from the park to be honest, I am sure it'll remain for a number of seasons. On 3/14/2025 at 8:11 PM, Wilhelm1407 said:Your coasters and scenery look fantastic! 😄 To enhance your already well-crafted buildings, you might try adding some extra details like wall trims and moldings. Trip Report 2 - Season 1I've decided to make a special trip to the park today as it's a lovely spring day. Purely to get on Tidal Wave! It's open and looking fantastic. The pipe theming ensures that even bystanders will get wet!Maybe they should fix the spelling error though on the vinyl sign! But yes, it really is a Splash Zone. The ride even has water jets to soak you more after the main splash. What cruel person designed this!?The entrance even has water. Note the small warning on the corner of the sign. I mean, they warn you...This fence is new...I also expected more of a queue on this warm day. Oh well.Another wet warning.A third and final warning before the boat departs. Here goes nothing...!They weren't kidding. Everything has water in it... time to dry off and drive home.Until next time! YouTube
March 16Mar 16 Haha! I think the queue is almost empty because all those "wet warning" signs scared peeps away! "What cruel person designed this!?" You evil person, you. ;-pIt all looks great! (At least you provide drying chambers, so you're not completely evil).
March 17Mar 17 Author As we near the end of the season the park have announced that Enterprise has spun for the last time. The ride is now cordoned off and is awaiting removal in the off season.Over at Tidal Waves entrance, more can be seen inside the new expansion... YouTube
March 21Mar 21 Author Hi all, Oakwood Park Manager here.As we prepare for the last day of the season, I thought it'd be beneficial to get some of our on ride POVs out there so you can enjoy Oakwood in the off season. Enjoy. YouTube
March 21Mar 21 Smooth rides. I enjoyed the POVs! And the test dummies enjoyed them too (from what I could tell).

March 24Mar 24 Love that first shot with the setting sun shining through, and silhouetting, the wooden coaster.
April 2Apr 2 Author Hi all, a small closed season update for you.As you can see, a new area is all fenced off and a building has been constructed! I wonder what adventures await? YouTube
April 7Apr 7 Author Arrival of an Aquatic LandPress Day has arrived for Coral CoveIt's frustrating that the 'old' land name was printed on the Information board...Nothing else at the park was open for the press day.Tidal Wave has seen a few thematic enhancements in the off season. It's also had it's bridge roof replaced. The first of the new attractions is Sub-Spin, a children's Ferris wheel, though adults are welcome too! There's also a splash pad to run around in on those warm days in the UK Summer. Now for the main event of the expansion. Riptide, an indoor Maure Sohne spinning roller coaster.Of course you will find your standard retail shops and a selection of F&B stalls throughout the new area. The parks owners are hoping this new investment, of an indoor attraction, will assist with guest footfall on those rainy UK days, whilst also attracting younger thrill seekers looking to make that first step into larger roller coasters. Talking of which, I am happy to announce that we're not done with Coral Cove yet... there's an expansion pad to the left of Riptide Retail that will host a thrilling attraction in the coming years.Elsewhere in the park, there are plans afoot to expand beyond Treetops and into the Wilderness. Watch this space. It's also with a heavy heart that the Wacky Worm and Enterprise will not be returning for the this season. Both attractions have been removed. YouTube
April 10Apr 10 Author Coral Cove - Opening DayAs you can see, the park has opened its first fully themed land - Coral Cove. The press day was very successful and it has created quite the buzz in the local community and within the enthusiast community. The park is working on an official POV in the coming weeks. The rest of the park is thriving, but, you will see that Enterprise and Wacky Worm have been fully removed. However, you can see that an area next to Wild River and beyond Twin Looper has been cordoned off for future construction. We'll bring you more updates across the season as we get them! YouTube
April 16Apr 16 The entrance to Coral Cove is gorgeous, love that small lake area. One recommendation would be to decrease the open space you have, I've always found smaller more details areas more interesting rather than large grand areas. You could also split up the large walkways you have with some scenery islands or something which would create trailsi or paths instead, maybe that could work? But take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm not a good parkcrafter (ironic, I know)Loving everything so far, Tidal Wave reminds me of a ride of the same name from I believe it was Busch Gardens in Tampa? I haven't been there since I was little but the only thing I can remember was a ride called Tidal Wave that I loved 😂 there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really
