No jokes today, only fireworks!

I recently mapped my video recording keys to something similar to screenshots. I have been testing out videos more frequently and with the computer I got in November, I have been able to do a bit more with RCT3. In this video you will see the torches on and fireworks lighting up the sky shortly after using a recently released firework set of a show many of us are familiar of (probably a prerequisite of ParkCrafters 😉).

Stories act as a fundamental thread in the fabric of humanity, connecting people across cultures and time. By sharing narratives, we foster empathy, understanding, and a sense of collective identity, laying the groundwork for collaboration and shared purpose. This interconnectedness fuels innovation, as the exchange of ideas and perspectives sparks curiosity and drives exploration. Whether it's a scientific breakthrough inspired by a fictional tale, stories have the power to unite people in pursuit of knowledge, progress, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us, ultimately leading to profound discoveries.

What will you discover?

Are you doing what I think you're doing 👀

there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really

I am pleased to announce that World Of Discovery was nominated for the People's Choice Award for the 2025 ParkCrafters Awards.

This project had the honor of winning 3 awards last year to include:

2024 Best RCT3 Project

2024 Park of the Year

2024 People's Choice

I am grateful to have this park nominated again. This project was my first to be publicly posted on the Internet and has quickly grown to become iconic! Thank you to ParkCrafters for being the home of this unique project that is about to hit 10 years of progress next year!

Thank you everyone who voted World Of Discovery for the 2025 People's Choice Award. This is the second time this project has won this award in 2024 and I am grateful it won it again. Next year this project hits 10 years of development and it will be a huge year!

Happy Sunday everyone! Here is an overview/update on what is being developed and coming soon to World Of Discovery! Next month the park hits 7 years of operation with many of those years seeing major overhauls like the one that is currently in development.

rvkCywi.png

Every trip to World Of Discovery begins with an entrance photo/overview. In the nearly 7 years of this project's existence, the main entrance has set the tone for many updates and has played a key role in the park's history for being the first thing guests see before discovering something new.

tuchXVf.png

The World Of Discovery entrance sign mirrors the park's symbol which is an icon in both the RCT3 world and the real world for being an engineering marvel.

ZCwFjE5.png

2024 it is rumored that the first attraction guests discover will be seeing a small refurbishment. More than likely to look into the ride system as there has been long periods of downtime. The best thing is that this attraction can hold many guests. The downside is that the high capacity would have to shift elsewhere in the park, which currently has a very small offering of attractions for now.

zp8qZzW.png

Many updates are occurring behind Spaceship Earth. The number of food of beverage offerings is only going to increase when the Discover Eats quick service opens soon. The remaining work is the interior as much of the exterior has been formed other than the roof and details that are connected to the glass panels.

B5RbWCQ.png

The fountain during the mornings is quiet but come lunchtime and up until an hour or two before nighttime entertainment, the fountain comes to life. You cannot beat this view though.

96Z0Vzi.png

The park's main gift shop, Starbucks, a pizza grab-and-go, ice cream, and soda shop are in this section. This same building will house Discover Eats when that opens. There will be two entrances to Discover Eats when it opens to guests.

Be sure to get the ParkCrafters and SGW merchandise. Revenue is used for more experiences and much of what is being planned!

Of course if you need any assistance, ask our team members for help because they are always happy to help.

LeFRy5v.png

This angle shows both entrances to Discover Eats. It will be a massive quick service that caters to all guests with a variety of foods. Food will range from standard burgers and hot dogs to cultural delights as this is a world of discovery.

v3qyvo5.png

One of the first overviews of this update shows the left side of the park taking shape. Experience prehistoric times, natural wonders, and where it all began to come to be. Also in this overview is a hint of what has been teased in previous posts by media that have worked up some wonder as to what it could be. Much of the construction process for this project involves laying out in-game paths for guests before adding protective covers and borders when the pathways are finalized. This also adds a bit of realism.

FKoPWRW.png

Get ready for future discoveries as guests will travel to the Big Bang in a thrilling adventure among the cosmos. Details will be shared in the future, but expect a thrill that is out of this world!

DbsOzQI.png

Discover the newest nighttime spectacular Discover starting next month! This will be the park's largest nighttime display of pyrotechnics and other effects that will be sure to leave a mark in the World Of Discovery history books.

cXFmoKA.png

Another overview shows the layout of the Discover barges. The World Exposition Lagoon has plenty of room for guests to view this show. Once World Exposition is fully complete, expect there to be numerous locations for guests to sit and enjoy what we have to offer both during the day and at night.

14fH1Ar.png

The right side of the park is not as developed as the left. The planning phase is still in progress for this area as there are many ideas that are being evaluated. Additions to Epcot are being looked at but will be reworked to fit this park as well as original concepts of what could be popular in each area.

U9emBdX.png

Explore the seas, weather, and space in this area of the park with various experiences under development. Ideas call for some thrilling attractions as well as some "edutainment" options to encourage guests to make a difference in the world. Much like Epcot, this park wants to entertain and educate visitors in creative ways.

World Of Discovery is going to continue to grow and change. This update shows a little bit of the development process as well as hints at possible ideas that are in development. I have a long list of things to add to this project and I am happy to share what is being cooked up!

I like it verry much! lots of hours in this project! The walls inside the shop at the counter are a amzing idea! I might use them in one of my coasters!

With the help of @wolfpaw and his pyro effect making skills, the lighting package for the park's symbol is in the process of being upgraded. Tonight was the first test of the latest version of the lights. This process involved adjusting the height and width of the particles to get as close as possible to the spherical profile. The result, even adjustments are still being made, is a pure masterpiece.

Sundays are for discoveries.

YZD9O75.jpeg

It has been a moment since I have posted any sort of update on this nearly 9-year-old project. Well, rumor mill is turning faster by the day as the 10-year anniversary looms on this project next year. I did begin a 2026 park file just to experiment with something, and I am heavily leaning towards that concept.

tECQksa.jpeg

Entering the park, the old entrance style welcomes guests. Yes, this screams identity crisis, but the entrance is going back to the roots of the original concept of World Of Discovery. At the time, nobody would have thought Epcot would be going under a relatively massive transformation (to include Illuminations leaving which it should never have). I have had fountains, planters, and different entrance styles, but this is still one of my favorite styles.

The entrance is mostly complete, minus the sides needing some foliage structures to better envelop the entrance instead of being open and grassy areas.

nWDRHRU.jpeg

Always take pictures of the park symbol. It is an engineering marvel.

LV6Dggg.jpeg

Rumor mill involves the entirety of the core of the park being reworked. What is being considered is a more park-like appearance that keeps the fountain. Moving away from the concrete jungle that is surrounded by buildings.

Er6BvEH.jpeg

Real-world Epcot in 2025 does something interesting, but I am not a true fan of the rework. I would have kept the fountain or plussed it to make it better. World Of Discovery is looking to go a completely different direction according to rumors. Think Celestial Park at Universal's Epic Universe being behind the "Epcot ball." The transitions between the nearby areas would be interesting to create, but this is a blue-sky concept.

I had a version of World Of Discovery where the two buildings were recreated piece-by-piece. I loved how they turned out but filling in the buildings were where it was tough because I do not do interiors, so it was lacking.

Do742mi.jpeg

The transition to World Exposition would remain the same as this is the best transition I have made between the two major sections of the park. World Exposition is still in the development phase as is most of this version of World Of Discovery. This rework was not planned at all after a game issue, so this project has been a bit quiet. I expect construction to pick up steam relatively soon to end 2025 on a high note.

It is also rumored that the Discover Expo has been moved to October rather than July. Scheduling has made it difficult to get the announcements ready for the media, but with 2026 being a major year the event is carefully being planned. All I know is there are more discoveries and stories to be told.

Nice update! Agree with you that EPCOT should have at least kept the Fountain of Nations. Was honestly shocked to see it go.

I agree. That vast expanse of concrete/slurry needs more greenery to make it more welcoming. classic_smile

It has been needed for a long time, hopefully the rumor is true and we have the funding 😉.

When I went to Epic Universe I actually said "well I found where Epcot's fountain went" because it was such a nice feature to sit by and enjoy. I actually sat in the seating area to eat dinner to-go from a nearby mobile order window. Epcot went to being a concrete jungle while they claimed there was going to be more shade.

The RCT3 world seems to move quick once rumor mill starts turning. I received word that construction walls and signage starting to appear in the park almost overnight. Like the ParkCrafter I am, I decided to see if this is true and how much of the park is blocked by walls. This park seems to love construction walls.

hNWAzIm.jpeg

Of course a classic shot that must be taken by all guests. If you do not take pictures of the park symbol, did you really visit the park?

fMoGKcd.jpeg

Well, we have construction walls. The signage matches the ticket booths at the park entrance with the World Of Discovery logo created by CaptainEO a few years ago. Looks like the walls will be added in phases possibly?

P3jgqJ2.jpeg

It looks like the fountain is blocked off by the construction walls.

IwqPbjg.jpeg

The breezeways are wide open, but one thing to notice is that there are already lamp posts behind the construction walls. The RCT3 world is no joke and things can appear and disappear within seconds.

6dP5HuK.jpeg

I am predicting this will be a common sight for a while. Future discoveries await as the signs say....

Here is a first look at the new area Discover Park.

3ImBne3.jpeg

Still needed to be complete is landscaping, path covers, shop/restaurant details, and other guest necessities. This area features a new water feature and will have the park's fountain as the main focus while blending in the geodesic motif into the area and bring in more shade in the near future.

This refurbishment is part of WOD-9 as the park reaches its 9th anniversary next month. Once complete, other areas that are having land and stories prepped will begin further development.
