  1. The OVL files themselves can be edited to a certain extent, changing things like their EIN stats, cost, name, description, etc by directly changing certain hex values. You have to be careful though because changing the wrong values can make the object crash your game. I'll be putting together a tutorial on how to change those aspects that I know how to change by direct hex editing soon. I'll post it up here for everyone to have access to it. Hope this helps!
  2. Yes, it is entirely possible to edit other people's CSOs. I did this with nothing more than Notepad++ and its Hex Editor plugin to give the ride a cost (nothing should be free) and change its name. (still looking into OVL code to find more things that can be changed without unpacking them and trying to repackage them entirely... which is neigh unto impossible in many cases) The REAL question is "Is it allowed/ethical to upload fixed versions of a CSO for other people to use?" I edited my own downloads of these files for my own use, so it's no big deal... but whether or not I should be able to (or be ethically justified in) uploading those for others' use is a very contentious subject. I look at it as an homage, giving credit to the original creator and adding to what they've done... the creator might think differently, though. ::shrug::
  3. Oh, I'm not ashamed of my displays... I think they're pretty good... considering my limitations. It's just that compared to shows like these, it's really "low effort content", even if I spend DAYS on them. Mostly this is because I limit myself to displays that can fit in a scenario, like my "When Can We Do This Again" display I did for Soaked scenario 7, Treasure Island. using the Owl City song for the Paint the Night Parade. I don't know... maybe one of these days I'll capture it and put it up. Up until now my displays were solely for my own and my family's entertainment... but maybe someone else might like them. ::shrug::

  5. Was going to reply right away... got busy... you get it. Anyway, the work is all Nulano's doing back about 3 or so years ago. All I did was package it up, format it, and put it in a PDF. Still, it's invaluable to keep stuff like this around and available, otherwise it will all become lost knowledge. Glad you approve! ::blush::
  6. Absolutely breathtaking. Nothing else describes it better. Unfortunately, THIS is why I never posted up any of my attempts at pyro displays... the best I can manage pales in comparison to shows like this. (that and I don't want a YouTube account) Congratulations, good sir! I am officially in awe. :^)

I mostly play in the Scenarios because I like having set challenges, having to meet a payroll, needing to hire good employees, etc... but I play them MY way! ::giggle:: I very nearly always have a pool in my parks, even if it's a small one. Usually though they're set off on a side like a separate water park almost like a second gate... but this scenario it really just seemed to fit in the middle. Thanks for the kudos! It was a labor of love! (as you can probably tell by the game year in the top bar!) It took 20 years just to research all my downloaded CS. The rides are also hand modded by me to give them more realistic EIN and costs. (I'll get around to writing up a tutorial on how to do that one of these days)
  9. Since we're in that area, let's take a look at the pool... starting with this girl's favorite place at a pool... the shaded Hot Tub Terrace! The main attraction of the pool complex though is The Pretzel... a tube ride. (note the supply of tubes behind the ride entrance) Underneath The Pretzel is a small Kiddie Pool with sprayers, floating lounge chairs, and no diving! The Pretzel has its own splashdown wave pool, so as to not disturb swimmers. Of course, what good is a water slide without pumps? That means a maintenance room. That brings us to our last attraction at the opposite corner of the park... Launchpad McQuack's Flight School! Here budding pilots can learn how to fly just like Launchpad... er... well, maybe a bit better. That brings us to the end. Here are some other overviews of the park. I hope you enjoyed the park! I certainly did making it! I know it doesn't have a lot of attractions, but I think the ones it has are pretty detailed. Comments welcome.
  10. What was the bridge you ask? Why that was the old trestle for the Nature's Wonderland Railroad! After departing the station in Western Corner, we cross the bridge into Nature's Wonderland... I know this isn't the Jungle Cruise, but you still get to see the world famous... Backside of Water! Then you get to go over it. It doesn't have the Paint Pots or Rainbow Caverns, but it DOES have a geyser. (hard time grabbing the particle effects) Then through a dangerous narrow canyon... ...and out towards the old trestle again. Making our way back to the station around the Wild West Show. Speaking of which, access to the show goes under the tracks, so a sign was needed to let Peeps know where it was. The next post will cover the rest of the park, including the pool.
  11. Adjacent to the picnic area is the entrance to the park's 2nd major coaster, Tale Spin. ...with multiple signs and animated Ride Events. (note the platform under the feet of the loading area) Ride overview. Near the entrance... Dive toward a splash... ...and again... ...before coming in for a landing. Going back to the back walkway, we passed an attraction... the Tour Boats. Low bridge! More? Okay!
  12. Next along the back walk is the rear entrance to the pool complex. At the end of the back walk is Science Corner, a Planitarium show hosted by Ludwig von Drake. Around the corner are the jumping fountains, another Sun Screen stall, and the Disney Balloon vendor. The first major attraction I put in was my attempt at a recreation of Gadget's Go Coaster from Toontown in Disneyland Anaheim. Obviously, I can't reproduce it exactly since I have ZERO 3d modeling skill and am thus limited to what other people have made, but it's not bad. At the 4th corner we have Snack Row... leading up to Chip and Dale's Picnic Area. (again, another place to sit down to eat, complete with live entertainment) More to follow!
  13. I wanted to share one of my detailed parks. This was a lot of work, but a lot of fun to do! The first Wild scenario is terribly set up to start. Far too many enclosures that are far too big... and way more than is needed. After scrubbing out pretty much everything to start from scratch, I completely redesigned the park. I started where you should begin... at the entrance. Being the Disney nut that I am, I placed attraction posters at the entry all along the wall, right across from the Information Booth and Sun Screen stall. At the end of the entry walkway is a large capacity restroom. I try to avoid using "port-a-potties" wherever possible since that's not what you find in theme parks. (it's a functioning set of Restrooms using Beglabor's Invisible Doodads) Across from the restrooms is the pool's main entrance, Inflatable stall, Swimsuit stall, and more Sun Screen stalls. Along the entry walkway is the Leopard enclosure. They're not as good as Lions for pumping out cash, but they'll do. (especially since this scenario doesn't let you have lions) The Zebra enclosure is shoved off in the corner, sloping up the hill. Note that all animal enclosures have solid walls, so Peeps don't get a free show. :^) Around the corner is Western Corner... a little area devoted to the Old West. Next along the path is Snack Corner... a place to get drinks, ice cream, and food. For those wanting a sit-down meal, at the end of Snack Corner is the Nature's Wonderland Restaurant, right next to the main First Aid/AED building. Plenty of seating, good atmosphere, nearby restrooms, and live entertainment. The other side of the building houses more amenities... lockers, ATM, and counter-service Sun Screen sales.     NightHawk's Invisible Path. (alternative to Belgabor's Invisible Doodads) Place the "Arknot" folder in your RCT3 "Paths" folder. Note: As can be seen in the screenshot, these invisible paths do not let some scenery or Peeps be seen underneath them. With proper placement this can be used to hide objects you don't want to be seen.
