Posted May 14May 14 Riverport Theme Park & Wild River WaterparkWhere the 5 meets the 405 — in Irvine!Development continues on the 500-acre Great Park, located on the site of the decommissioned Marine Corps Air Station El Toro. The recently opened Wild River Water Park, located in the southern edge of the Park, has secured a lease on 35 additional acres for the development of a world class theme park resort in phases over a ten-year period.Phase 1 sees the opening of the first land, Discoveryport, a steampunk land set in the Pacific Northwest. The port tells the story of a greedy Boron Baron set on plundering the land for a rare Boron-8 isotope that can be harnessed for clean, renewable energy (allegedly). A recreation of the gambling hall where the aforementioned won his seed money sits beside Royal Flux, a demonstration of Boron-8's miraculous capabilities. Still standing is the miner's canteen, Pie in the Sky, run by the Boron Baron's wife Donella. To keep employees in line, the canteen sits under a giant sundial so miners don't exceed their 15-minute lunch break. Custom hats can be purchased at The Mad Hatter. The wharf is also the hub for the three means of transportation that will service the resort: Wild River Excursions, Hyperia Airships, and the Buena VistaLiner. After crossing Wild River, the first half of the Port gives way to Shilo Gulch. Down, down, down we go, passing stark reminders of the industrialization of the land. A powerful Wood Chipper was brought in to clear the operation of all obstructions, and remains embedded in the land to this very day, though she's a bit rusty now.At the bottom of the Gulch is the entrance to Big Bore Mountain, the heart of the operation. Once a sacred mountain known by the native population as "Big Boar Mountain", the Boron Baron has declared it shall now be known as Big Bore Mountain in honor of the miraculous element. But, before the native population was driven off their homeland, they left a final, mysterious warning: "To those who take, awaits a quake."Now, how does a tour of the whole operation sound? I'm sure nothing will go terribly wrong.Frontier Workshop Share Code: 6C0-QZD-XRG Edited May 14May 14 by TMH.2 Space
May 14May 14 Wow - that's a lot of work. Looks great. Like all the kinetic energy going on and the Steampunk look.
May 14May 14 Love it!Like Wowman said, the first thing I noticed was the kinetic energy. Excellent theming of the land and especially the flat rides. Great backstory and animations all around. I'll be downloading this to see it in person. Welcome to ParkCrafters!
May 15May 15 Wow! Who are you and where have you been!!! This is a building style I haven't seen before! (I'm afraid all my sentences are gonna end in an exclamation point!) The style is reminiscent of a couple of members, both here and at the former Shyguy's World. I love your screenshots! The camera angles are great! The attention to detail is superb! The video: I immediately had to applaud, and laugh, at the use of the William Tell Overture for the soundtrack. It perfectly matches the non-stop excitement of the visuals. I'm not overly fond of Steampunk (just, OK), BUT, it works perfectly here, as a mining theme! Love all the theming inside Big Bore Mountain! You only see it for a second, but it catches your eye and adds immensely to the excitement! Thanks for springing this creation on us here at ParkCrafters! And welcome!
May 15May 15 This very much reminded me a great deal of Heth's work in the steam-punk theme, which is a real compliment in my book. The differences I think are in scale - your's is of equal size and complexity but it's scale seems more personable, and the other difference in the level of energy felt...the kinetic energy is off the scale - not only on the rides but on the entire area. It's just at a perfect level to convey the amount of excitement this themeing is trying to portray. The screenshots are luxe...kudos for that and even more so for the video. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this park project, a sincere thanks for sharing it here with us!

Hooray for moving platforms! Don't get lost, and don't mind the current state of the coaster's queue. You'll get a preview of coming attractions though if you poke around!21 hours ago, JB said:Wow! In fact, "Royal Flux" is a callback to one of the attractions ("Royal Flush") in a park I made for a SGW competition! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1302567210. The whole project really clicked once I figured out the music, and you can expect classical music to be a running theme! Some of you might remember CTRSind from his custom scenery sets; he's been a great advisor to me and I have him to credit for the park name.11 hours ago, Wabigbear said:This very much reminded me a great deal of Heth's work in the steam-punk theme, which is a real compliment in my book. You picked up on the thing I am most anal about in this game, and that is keeping things in scale. I think that's where my time working at D-Land most comes through in my builds. People tend to underestimates just how tiny that place really is, so I like keeping things similarly tight. Edited May 16May 16 by TMH.2
May 16May 16 That second and ninth photo.. absolutely gorgeous!! LOVING the look of this park!! there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really
