LOL!Since many of these structures are Workshop finds, not all of them were originally meant for a Disney Main Street setting and so didn't have the popcorn lights, a fact that didn't always become evident when working on the bench when paused during daylight hours, and by the time I took night-time screens...well, it was an 'oops!' moment that I just didn't go back to fix! The laziness to fix WAS intentional...the fact they didn't have them wasn't! LOL!Thanks for the well wishes. While I've had artificial parts before with a couple of dental implants and two stents in my heart, I'm now on my way to true Bionic status with a brand new factory-fresh knee. The knee itself feels and functions wonderful...the repairs to the areas to install it are lagging behind somewhat, but physical therapy will soon cure that. The longer hospital stay was merely preventive as I had the stents from a few years ago and Brazilian insurance companies aren't in the same hurry to empty hospital beds as they are in the States...but I like hospital food...no, really... So tasty...even without salt. Or flavor. Or someone flipping on the overhead room lights at 3 am to empty the trash. So home-like...

June 25Jun 25 Author Last round of screens I showed an area to ignore as I had taken the screens before it was finished. Well, now it's mostly done so you can uncover your eyes and we'll take a short gander...Up ahead is the streetcar barn, and to the right are several lakeside Boardwalk-themed structures...There's a small plaza where the streets meet, a restroom on the left, additional buildings to the right...A First Aid station tucked into the yellow house...Around the corner is Donald's Dockside Cafe, which is actually the backside of the Plaza Restaurant we'll see later...There's Donald himself waiting for a Meet n'Greet opprotunity once the park opens! (The SS Leaky Boat by Citytrader has popped in three different parks now...)This Boardwalk building from the Workshop just had a plain back wall, so I just copied the front of it, rotated it and added some interest...And finally - Storyville's pride and joy - it's Victorian comfort station!

July 8Jul 8 Author (A slight delay in posting here. Somehow a TMTK object 'disappeared', leaving gaps in some of the structures shown here. Unfortunately I saved the bench before noticing, so the 'disappeared' objects remains 'disappeared'...for good. So I had to recreate what was missing, which led to different designs in several cases. But all's fine in the end. Anyways...on with the tour...)Coming to the end of the block, Cast Member Evelyn channels Adriana Caselotti - the singing voice of Snow White in the original animated film - serenading tired guests with her rendition of of "I'm Wishing"...said guests wish she'd move on to somewhere else and threaten legal action against her voice coach...We'll escape around the corner where we find a Barber Shop, a Bakery (Mickey doughnuts!), and Mouse House Home Decor......Chest of Drawers (strangely not an underwear shop, but a store that sells furniture - who would have thought?),...A family clothing store, which also serves as a passageway back to the other street. Then yet another painless dentist (one can never have too many...), lawyers offices...Then the Disney Gift Shop ends this block...Across 4th St. is a Bakery (definitely can't have too many sweets either...hence the need for the Painless Dentist offices I assume...), then the China Closet (no egg rolls there...), and an Arcade, followed by a Coffee Shop on the corner of 4th and Main...Buster Brown Shoe Store on the opposite corner. Storyville Tours pauses while the driver run for a quick double shot espresso to deal with the upcoming crowds when the park finally opens...Next time we'll journey back up Main Street ... The Storyville Civic Improvement League recently planted those trees down the middle of the street.Some day we hope to find out...why?Until next time... Edited July 8Jul 8 by Wabigbear
July 15Jul 15 Author Headed up Main Street...Boston Cases and Bags on the right, Hotel Marceline on the left. Emporium up ahead...Story Book Store and City Hall on the right...Here we'll turn onto East 2nd Street...As the street curves we have the First National Bank Building, followed by Storyville Arcade...The Bridal Shop and the 2nd Street Cinema...I see Tilly is manning the ticket booth again today...As we go around the corner, a coffee shop, barber shop and an eatery line the block before it meets back up with Main Street...On the original plans there was a small odd block that seemed to have interconnected facades...my guess was that they were townhouses, as Walk always had an "Edison Square" in the back of his mind. So I went with that idea, but since I couldn't decide which style of townhouse to use, I ended up using one of each, but never went back to choose only one.. But then I remind myself that this is a Cast Member in a Disney park, so all's well. If that's a class action lawsuit, can I join?If "Chest of Drawers" was an underwear shop, it would be a perfect companion to the "Wizard of Bras" shop, a real thing in early Disneyland. (Which you probably already knew?)I really like the Arcade facade. I also like that we can see the L.A. city center in the background of some shots.And now, today's post:"Boston Co. Cases & Bags" Now there's a name that just rolls off the tongue... ;-\I love the arched portico in front of City Hall. July 17Jul 17 Author Over-priced "souvenirs with "Disneyland" plastered all over them."...Years ago we visited a town in southern Brazil where they had a garment factory that was contracted to Disney at that time to create t-shirts, hoodies, etc. (they no longer have that contract I believe...), they had a factory outlet store there that sold factory seconds and over-runs that was full of Disney-themed apparel meant for the parks, all for a dollar or two U.S. each. That was before our first trip to WDW, so we loaded up. Still buy some at the parks on our annual trips but they certainly didn't cost a buck or two U.S. either!

This attraction was part of the Hollywood-Maxwell Brassiere Co. and was located on Main Street, U.S.A. The shop was designed to evoke a late 19th-century atmosphere and included a Victorian-era receiving room with a fireplace and old-fashioned drapery. The store was known for its provocative advertisements and the presence of the Wizard of Bras, who interacted with guests through a tape recorder. The shop was closed in January 1956, and its space was later taken over by the Ruggles China & Glass Shop.

July 20Jul 20 Author Strange occurrences pop up from time to time on this park...things go missing! For instance some weeks ago when I opened the bench parts of the circus area we haven't seen yet were missing, the pieces were downloaded TMTK items that I still had in the game. I chalked it up as a mistake - perhaps they were grouped with something else that was removed. So I had to spend time adding them all back. A couple weeks later I noticed some pieces were missing from some structures downloaded from the Workshop. I check and they seemed to be TMTK items that this time were no longer showing up, so I re-downloaded them. Since I had already saved the bench that didn't cause them to re-appear. One structure I was able to clone the missing bits by downloading another copy of the structure, the other structure I could find in my items downloaded from the Workshop, so I had to create my own version of the missing part. Checked the bench, found nothing else missing.Then last week I discovered yet another structure missing some of it's parts. This time the TMTK pieces all seemed to still be downloaded, so I just removed the structure with the missing pieces, and replaced it with a fresh copy of the structure file...which had all it's parts!I have a lot of TMTK items downloaded, I haven't removed any in ages, so other than me perhaps deleting something that was grouped with the missing items (possible of course...), I not sure why things go missing from time to time. Anyone sticking needles in a voodoo doll representing me...lately anyways? LOL!
