Posted January 24Jan 24 I know this is going to sound strange, but I'm trying to record in game footage without the in game record function activating. Normally this isn't a problem. My parks are so filled with scenery and rendered at a higher resolution that it crashes out the in game record function when I hit record... but it will still run through the full screen camera route for me to capture with OBS. I'm trying to go back and record some early footage and saves, and the park isn't full enough to crash the in game record feature, so it's capturing the footage alongside OBS and making the end product jittery/skipping frames. I know you can run through a full screen camera cycle with the menu, but the menu is still showing, as well as the toolbar on the left and the options at the top. I could try to crop the footage to omit the edges... but I don't want to do that because I think it's noticeable in the render. Is there a way to trick the game to send the video file it's trying to create to a dead location so it just shorts out? Any help would be most appreciated.
February 2Feb 2 Author I have found the solution to my own problem. If you would like to short circuit the in game camera capturing software, you must first load into a high asset save and run a camera route. Parks with enough assets in them will short circuit the video capturing side of things but still run through the camera route in full screen. After this is done, back out of the saved game into the main menu and load back into a low asset/earlier save. The in game video capturing software will be broken from here on, and you can run through camera routes and capture them with the 3rd party software of your choice.
