The phased openings for Universal Studios Park began yesterday! Guests are allowed up to the park entrance gates currently as the park is under redevelopment. This summer, as attractions are ready for operations, we will push our phased openings further. Thank you for the cooperation and we hope you all enjoy Universal Studios Resort Dubai!

  • Caution: The moving walkway is ending This is one of the familiar sounds' guests will hear when they finally reach a deciding point. Universal Studios Park or Universal's Adventureverse. Starting May

  • I don't know why... but my first wild guess would be something to do with Universal. Just a hunch! 😉

  • "Tell me more about this Jaws attraction?" It would be a 'one time only' ride experience. Guests go in but they don't come out. ;-)

Time for something universal! Today, I had the opportunity to visit the first area open to guests. Many said they were too hyped to wait to see the arch and the globe along with views of the skyline to include Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

RcOlJgt.jpeg

The first stop is through security at the covered walkway. There are many metal detectors to handle a good amount of the expected crowds.

ci0xAvY.jpeg

Coming up to the globe, it is pretty small compared to others. Reminiscent of the classic globe that Hollywood still has. There was a debate to use the Hollywood globe, but this one is the most up to date in RCT3.

K2my3o3.jpeg

Lastly, the arches themselves. A carbon copy of Florida's (even with Florida on the arch, but this is RCT3). The ticket windows and guest services buildings are complete/reworked. Much of the entrance is the same as the original park file. The only difference is no Adventureverse and no lake at the complex entrance. The new idea is two separate security check points for two plots of land. One for Universal Studios Park and one for Universal Adventureverse, which gives both parks room to grow and develop as opposed to being squished.

The slated plans are for this park to become heavily developed before continuing Universal Adventureverse, which will be a combination of ideas both real and original.

Sunday funday! A quick trip to Universal Studios Park during the team member previews for Twister: Ride It Out. I missed the first few days of team member previews, but they are slated to end this week to turn over previews to annual passholders before the attraction officially opens on July 18. With this the park was a bit busier than normal along with the quick addition of Behind The Stunts, a show that integrates multiple stunt shows from the Universal Studios parks in a soundstage setting.

KhIvU9i.jpeg

Busy, busy, busy! The decision to make two separate campuses for the two parks has been a great change. This will help crowd control, and the parks will be larger. Universal's Adventureverse is expected to begin at the end of this year to early next year.

5gWPIYS.jpeg

The archway welcomes guests to Universal Studios Park. Most of the studio parks have some sort of icon, whether it be the globe or the arches, guests are welcomed to experience the movies.

mGKXXAV.jpeg

Right away, guests are welcomed to Behind The Stunts. A pretty generic soundstage, this area at the front of the park (the two generic soundstages) is going to be themed to multiple aspects of movie making. Acting as the entrance to the park and the beginning of movie making.

ZqHbcqt.jpeg

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will be the next attraction to officially open. Its role in the park is to define the skyline and integrate music as a critical part to movies. A clone of the soon to be extinct Orlando version, guests will pick a song to listen to during the thrilling attraction. I am happy to announce the following dates for this attraction:

Team Member Previews: July 7 - July 21

Annual Passholder Previews: July 22 - August 10

General Previews: August 11 - August 17

Opening Date: August 18

Recently, the trains have been cycling with people on them as a capacity and operations test. These have been invite-only rides. Guests can sign up for these but are cautioned that the area is not complete and they will more than likely experience delays during the invite-only testing phase.

Twister: Ride It Out has returned to a Universal Studios park! This in RCT3 is a CFR publicly released from a Youtuber who creates custom attractions for the nearly 21-year-old game. Included are the attraction, the pieces to make most of the soundstage and queue. Some sets were used to lengthen the queue and close off the remainder of the soundstage.

CoskKGN.jpeg

This attraction is a clone of the one that existed in Florida, minus the interior queue.

NubKpGY.jpeg

I gotta go Julia, we got cows.

zSEbNgY.jpeg

This is the small exterior queue before entering the attraction. This came with the CFR and did not need any modifications. Just place the queue path beneath for guests to come into the attraction.

Inside is just like the Florida attraction that once existed. The team member previews have fluctuated in the number of guests in the attraction. During the previews, it has been asked that once the doors close, that all videos and photography be seized to allow guests to enjoy the experience (and not ruin the RCT3 magic 😉).

WzkmiPX.jpeg

Like most attractions, Twister: Ride It Out ends in a gift shop. Twister will be a great addition to the park and adds to the lineup of experiences that guests will be able to enjoy here. There are big plans for unique experiences and those that are familiar within the Universal Studios destinations. Universal Adventureverse will also be a mixture of new and existing ideas, which will be reveal within the coming months.

Saturdays are for the studios.

VYG9IF4.jpeg

Another day at studios with some big milestones. The first being yesterday was the opening of Twister: Ride It Out. The opening of this attraction will allow the construction to move forward to add in more experiences and facilities for guests in the area around it. The front of the park is tricky to develop and I have been taking the time to think of how to handle this area while trying to differ from the Florida studios park.

HpMUMQN.jpeg

Behind The Stunts has become popular as it is one of the first experiences guests encounter when entering the park. Using the Stadium CFR as this seems to get the number of guests in the park higher and is a high-capacity attraction.

bGrn5z8.jpeg

Twister: Ride It Out is now open. This is one of the classic attractions Universal Studios Park will feature as it does not exist in the real world anymore (sadly it is Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon). I presented the details of the CFR and its supporting custom scenery in a previous post, but this is another well done custom attraction that has been publicly released.

LjcinjG.jpeg

Now under Team Member Preview, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. As stated in a previous update, this attraction will open in the RCT3 world the first day the real one is closed.

So, a fun fact about me as a RCT3 player, when I built this attraction before the CT existed, I would use the extended coaster and make it a vertical launch with a ridiculous non-inverting loop. Then the CTR came out and I kept that same design method as vertical lifts were reserved for different track types than this requires. Once the CT came out, it was a no-brainer that I would be using this. I remember when the real-world attraction was being built and was losing my mind seeing the different elements being constructed in pictures and when I visited Universal. It then became the first attraction of my recent trips to kick off awesome vacations, so it will be missed.

I did get a quick in-game clip of the attraction in action. Still testing out recording and getting my feet wet again in it.

Happy Sunday everyone! This update will be a mixture of new developments as well as some RCT3 background on how I construct my projects. Much of the screenshots show the tricks I have and are a bit tough to hide other than using the same angles for every post.

Recently I have been adding more details and reworking areas that I felt were lacking the quality I am seeking for my newer projects. Some areas may appear finished and will more than likely be refurbished soon. Other than that, on with the show!

qe6kvAa.jpeg

Unchanged is the walkway from the security checkpoint to the arches and globe. There are some construction walls to the right that will lead to future developments. I do have an idea of a structure that will be close to the park which will be formally announced at a later date.

SbFLFQ9.jpeg

Still bare in landscaping near the globe. The entrance area lacks landscaping outside of the pathed areas. This will be a change in the near future as the project grows. The main focus has been the park itself and getting some attractions developed. The globe is part of the Studio Tour attraction that was publicly released by the same creator of the Twister and Earthquake CFRs. There are other attractions that I hope to use and more are being developed.

n2oeHje.jpeg

Another classic shot. The arches were a limited release from a friend. Limited in being they controlled have the Universal Studios set they made, which primarily worked with entrance buildings like Will Call and Guest Relations.

K8FiWmW.jpeg

I did use that creator's set as inspiration in redeveloping the entrance buildings. The Guest Relations building is functional and will more than likely be refurbished as this was a 1.0 build using a mixture of sets.

pHMxKWV.jpeg

Will Call is seeing minor refurbishments. I am more than likely going to rework the building slightly to be closer to the real building in Universal Studios Florida. The construction walls are for a new gift shop that is connected to the new park exit path. The exit path is an effort for crowd control, well when the RCT3 peeps want to exit (they do what they want).

2WhafYc.jpeg

Classic blue walls.

0H2NBDi.jpeg

Walking into the park, recoloration of the concrete is in place. Beneath the path covers, I use the RCT3 in-game paths for the peeps to use. Moby's Path Covers work amazingly with the in-game paths and hide them.

lf2Pi8L.jpeg

The second generic studio building is being reworked and extended. I am unsure what to place in here, debating a theater or a small dark ride to increase the park capacity.

XqsNJLC.jpeg

Behind The Stunts remains unchanged. Much of the design appears temporary, which I think I change what this building houses in the future.

nNlV7UV.jpeg

Major changes greet guests when they approach Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Taking a very similar building technique found in the Universal Studios Florida Recreation by @Darknight , I added a stage and viewing area to fill this once dead space. I primarily used an art deco set that included billboards which currently show the Frontier logo. Should I get billboards to work in the future, the logo will change.

This area is possibly my new favorite area in the park. Getting the "AstroTurf" just right was a challenge with curved curbs and path covers and having a symmetry with the stage. The overall placement is close to the real-world stage.

OfiBDeC.jpeg

Regulars will also notice new details on the lift hill for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Using the rings and banner from a Universal Studios Florida scenery pack from many years ago, the attraction is a clone of the real-world one. The only thing left needed to be complete on the attraction is the entrance and queue. I have used a mixture of old and new sets to build what I have so far for the entrance, and I am differing from the real-world attraction and reorienting the queue as there is nothing behind Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

pDb5pUW.jpeg

The most complete area is near Twister; this attraction is still attracting guests with its classic thrills and amazing effects!

TcIaosL.jpeg

Some elements from Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Much of the buildings that it flies by are from the Universal Studios Florida scenery pack that the banners and rings on the attraction's lift hill came from.

A9D0769.jpeg

Finally, an overview of the park. There is a lot of empty space, but the main focus has been the left-side of the park with Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit acting as a boundary in the current phase. From the above shot, the viewing area for the stage can be seen. Again, this might be my favorite area of this park so far because it was taking an existing area and changing it for more details.

To get close to areas of the real-world Universal Studios Florida, I have been using many reference images and Google Earth as resources. I then approximate the number of blocks it would be for paths and piece-by-piece buildings. The right-side of the park will be where differences start to really show, as some IPs are being saved for Universal's Adventureverse.

My goal is to lean heavy on the classic Universal Studios attractions that do not require particular themed worlds and can be placed in general areas. November will make 1 year since this project started and RCT3 turns 21, so I want to have a fair amount of detail to show of a year's worth of development. I am excited for the future of this project and cannot wait to share more!

I miss it too compared to the garbage that exists in its place.

Well they seem to listen to your projects and make them a reality so maybe they will bring Twister back now 😅

there's this illusion of the reality, but it's not really really real, like it's beside and inside and inside and beside, but never on top.. nevermind, just kidding but not really

Looking good Cody! Music Plaza came out great. I also heavily use Google Earth as well as the Street View when getting references for my Universal Studios Florida Recreation. Let me know if you need anything as were both working on Universal Parks! 🙂

Of course, same to you! I have always loved your park and wanted to give you credit for the similar stage design just in case you showed up 😅.
