Ahhh, thanks JB!

The OZ wheel came from the Workshop -  The Wheel of Oz by slowly.  I first saw it back when we were just starting on this project and knew it just had to make an appearance!

Strange, you're like the 4th or 5th person who stated they thought green was the color du jour at the Emerald City...I just don't get it...

Chinese sounds good!  We had sushi and tempura for lunch...obviously not Chinese but close!  There's some Chinese restaurants here, but Japanese is everywhere, and we're just a few blocks from Liberdade neighborhood (Japantown), so we have it often.

So I guess it's my turn to pick up the pieces (more likely crumbs) left by Wagi.

Picture in your mind being all the back in the Kansas section of town. Heading down one of the side streets, you come to an interesting looking structure;

What? "No Dogs" allowed in the library? Even Toto too? Neat entrance into the Yellow Brick Country (?). I do wonder how the guests are going to find the entrance though, through the bookcase. On the other hand, Miss Gulch probably doesn't know about it either, or she would have sealed it up!

There is a second entrance to YBR country as you'll see soon.

We appear to have entered a kind of weird looking college campus;

See you soon!

Hey, I was gonna use the word 'edu-macated'! The early bear gets the honey... or something like that. Those multi-tiered yellow flowers are kinda strange looking. I've never seen them in real life, or in the game before. I love the Yellow Brick Road backdrop at the photo-op spot. The photo-op camera isn't the only thing on a tripod in this screenshot... The photographer is also a tripod! Actually, if you count the couple getting their picture taken, there are four tripods here! Thanks, Citytrader.

Only highly edu-macated folks use the word edu-macated, so youse in an exclu excloo ekclooz er...special club!

Them there flowers I think are 'pee-on-knee's' or 'pie-on-knee's' I think...usually colored red in the game.  But these are OZnian 'pee-oh-nays', so theys yeller...  See?  Highly edu-macated peoples nose stuff like that!

I hear that Tik-Tok might be banned from Yellow Brick Country. :classic_tongue:  I love those big, colorful hollyhock(?) flowers placed throughout the land. How did you accomplish all the patchwork on the hillsides?

Those are quarter 'domes' with patchwork textures.  You place one quarter piece, rotate and add another, end up with a round 'hill'.

They certainly aren't perfect.  Lighting in PC sometimes requires just the right combination of placement of the models used, imported on certain axis, and I didn't always get that placement perfectly spot on, so some quarter pieces have a darker shadowing to the texture on one side, not noticeable until placed up against another one that's been rotated - then the darker texture aligns with a slightly lighter one.  After monkeying around and re-making them numerous times without getting the right outcome, I decided to just claim that there were square Oznian clouds passing overhead, casting their shadows on the patchwork fields...

I'm sticking with that.

I 'think' those were hollyhocks, I forget what the texture was billed as...but very glad you like them...I do too!

The patchwork pieces (there's more of them...) and the flowers are all in the Workshop if anyone wants them.  TMTK items listed under "Oz" (as are the other nearly 700 items I made for this project.  And handful actually turned out pretty good! )

Real life and all that...

Forget about Clark Kent, Superman's alter-ego is this Scarecrow! (He's displaying the traditional Superman pose: feet apart, hands on hips.) I like how the balloon ride became the Pumpkinator. (I think there's an Arnold Schwarzenegger joke here somewhere.) The reason you can't tell a lie after taking a sip from the Pond of Truth is because you'd be dead from cholera before you had a chance to. Although, I have to say, the Pond looks beautiful!

Funny, tasted perfectly fine when I had a sip before soaking my feet in it...

Looks like the Tin Man has chopped down most of the trees in his yard. What does he do with all that wood anyway? Does he sell it as lumber? Or maybe firewood? I see the Wicked Witch is using her red smoke today. I think it's a fashion statement. Hey, is that Disneyland's Matterhorn in the background? With its Christmas Star on top? I like how the various scenes tell a part of the Oz story. Thanks, citytrader.

I've been busy with other things so these screenshots are some of the first views of the Yellow Brick Country bench!  I mostly love how this area really lives up to it's theme...it's not dark like the Haunted Forest, it's not huge and busy like the Emerald City, it's probably the closest to Dorothy's Kansas...just with talking TinMen, Lions and Scarecrows!  (I don't think Kansas has those...do they?)

Anyways, this bench really adheres to Baum's version of Oz I think.  Well done!

Thanks guys! I did try to emulate the original Goddard plans as closely as practical. I believe this land was solidly aimed at teens and thrill seekers. Lots of thrill rides. Anyway;

The Gump is a trophy moose head (known in OZ as a Gump), a sofa, some palm fronds, a broom, and rope that Dorothy, Jack and Tik Tok made and brought to life with the Powder of Life. Join the Gump as he tests his wings and flys around the mountains of OZ!

Moving on from the Flying Gump, we come across Billina's lunchpail tree. Need a good hearty lunch before you continue your journey? Don't try this ride! Guaranteed stomach churner!

Billina the chicken got whisked away to OZ on Dorothy's second trip. She greets you from the top of the sign.

Lunchpail tree? Was that actually in the Oz stories? I wonder what the picnic lunch consisted of? I like how the tree is plopped down in the middle of that ride. I take it that the green pails aren't ready to pick yet? Can't help wondering what the unripe contents are like. 🤢

It appeared in the third OZ book, but was a lunch box tree. In Disney's Return to OZ, they made it a pail.

They contain a ham sandwich, spongecake, pickle, cheese, and apple. Good lunch!
