Weird scaling problems - Solved

Featured Replies

I have the TooMuchScaling mod installed and it's worked perfectly...until a couple days ago. Now I'm finding that if I copy an item, say a light, that I haven't even adjusted the scaling on, when I go to place it will often cause the copy to have some random scaling - either smaller or larger.. I end up deleting it and trying again which usually works. It also does the same thing on scenery that I HAVE adjusted the scale on as well. Not every time, but often enough to be frustrating. I don't think 'random scaling' was enabled - although I'll double-check, but just wondering if anyone else has noted similar problems? Since it's a installed mod, I figure Frontier will not offer much help to file a support ticket, even if it's not the mod causing it...

The scaling mod gave me some problems so I don't use it. It's in the process of being updated with a new version so you may want to hold off using it until then. I may eventually decide to use it myself. I'm just waiting for a few more updates from Frontier...One, to see if they give us unlimited scaling in the game and two, because I'm always afraid an update might break it, as I know many mods break every time there's an update. Also, anyone who wants to download your park from the workshop MUST have the mod installed, or all pieces will revert to the lowest size allowed in the vanilla game. Personally, I'm caring less and less about releasing my parks to the workshop at all. If I do, let them worry about getting the file to work.

About your problem, I didn't encounter that and haven't heard of any else having that issue. Are you SURE you didn't have random scaling on? That's happened to me a couple of times (without the scaling mod installed).

I'll double check, but unless it turned itself on I haven't messed with any of the settings.

Good to hear that there's a new version in the works. This actually started happening AFTER the update last week, whether connected or not I'm not sure. Luckily nothing that was perhaps scaled beyond the in-game limits hasn't suddenly enlarged or shrunk, so that's a plus.

I'll agree with you on releasing parks. The number of people who download them is often relatively small even for the projects with a large following. Truthfully, while it may sound a bit selfish, I create parks for myself first and foremost. Sharing it with a few others is fine, but just not my focus.

I double checked, found everything was okay. Checked the items I was having trouble with, random scaling was off. But then decided to make a copy of one of them, and sure enough, random scaling WAS on. Turned it back off and it's been working fine since. Must have bumped it, so my fault!
