  1. And there is no doubt in my mind that the PC2 forums are closing because of the large amount of criticism directed at it on display. This BS about them moving their "new" games over to Discord doesn't ring true. Planet Zoo has its own section over there, and it is not a new game. Nor has the official Frontier Planet Zoo forum been closed. They are supporting both platforms. There is no rampant criticism of PZ on its forums. Mostly because the PZ devs can do no wrong in the eyes of its fan base, and rightly so, as the game is extremely well designed. Oh it has its little problems here and there, but it's very evident that the game was lovingly designed by devs passionate about the product. Too bad we don't see that same devotion to PC2. I can't see that it costs Frontier anything more to keep the forums open. It's a marketing decision, to shut it down and stop the potentially damaging (to sales) criticisms against the game. I'm really curious to see how well the Jurassic World Evolution 3 launch goes. I wonder if they'll botch that as well, and then I'll enjoy watching its fan base turn on them.
  2. I came across an old thread at Frontier that Wagi posted about the closing of SGW (thanks, Wagi). He listed ParkCrafters as the new site to replace SGW and it wasn't censored or deleted. That was 2 years ago. Today, I mention this forum and my post is instantly deleted. I don't mean to continue to harp on this, but it just shows how Frontier has changed for the worse. Even though I love their games, I've never warmed up to the company. I don't care for their business model of creating half a (buggy) game and then milking their players for years to buy the rest of the game in multitudes of over-prided DLCs. When SGW was around, devs from most of the games we supported personally reached out to me, like Parkitect and NoLimits. But not Frontier. And they were still a fairly small company back then. Now, I think they've gotten too big for their britches and are suffering for it...putting out too many games at one time, all with issues that are never fixed, and making stupid corporate decisions that make little sense. And their blatant lack of transparency is continuing to put off more and more of their playerbase. They went from being adored, when Planet Coaster was launched, to what they've become today. That's progress. ps. I'm thoroughly enjoying the drama over there with the forum's eminent closure. I kind of feel sorry for the volunteer mods who have entered the fray and are also being attacked. And sorry for the members who are mourning the loss of a community forum, and I can't even tell them about this one.

Ummm.... So Scooter has a sense of humor. Didn't know he had the intelligence. I wonder where he got that skeleton prop. Or maybe it's the original Park Inspector from RCT3's Wonder World. Enough silliness (for today). The Storage Lockers

Well, Water World has gotten a rather slow start, but rest assured, there is progress being made. So to hold you over for a little while longer, here is another screenshot. A very work-in-progress... the summit of Atlantia Island. The highest point in the park is the top of the Zodiac Temple, built by the Atlantians to appease the gods by sacrificing young maidens, tossing them off the cliff...a 150 ft drop. Something that lucky park guests will have the opportunity to experience themselves. Such fun!
  5. I used those exact words in my final post there...which was deleted.😁
  6. From what I gather with the limited amount of information we are rationed, all the forums will move over to Discord. Not sure if this means old games that have been abandoned, like PC1, but possibly.
  7. I made a post there, letting people know about this site, for those who don't like Discord, and it was immediately deleted by the mods. I complained, and that was immediately deleted by the mods and I was issued a warning. 😋

The sinks aren't clogged! They're just very shallow and have blue-colored bottoms!😏 And since you can't import your own objects into the game, like Planet Coaster 1, or have the ability to re-size objects, like Planet Coaster 2, the sink building options in Planet Zoo are more limited. And besides, Scooter has been banned from doing any more plumbing projects in the parks, so even if they were clogged, they'd just have to stay that way. But they're not. So there! 😠
  10. I thought you'd appreciate these.

I've doubled the number of service windows at Guest Services. The first glimpse of Zimbwowee Vilage... the restrooms. The men's room. The woman's room. Baby changing station. Meanwhile.... Scooter decides to check on the flamingos. Walking into a pen of crazed, starving flamingos may not be the best idea.
  12. Actually, thinking about how they would add working hotels to the game, it could actually be implemented very easily. All you'd need would be a front desk, like the gift shop counter... room modules like the staff rooms in Planet Zoo (maybe a standard room and deluxe room)...and working elevators. With these minimal elements, you could build a working hotel.

    Scooter...week 2.
  14. Another point of interest is how Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Junior started out as an entire land...Lilliputian Land. Thanks goodness it was downgraded to just 2 rides, as I seriously doubted the land as originally imagined would have survived to this day. And sadly, Grannie's Farm never saw the light of day...😉

    More fun service buildings...
  16. I've just returned from seeing the new "Walt Disney-A Magical Life" at Disneyland. I give the show mixed reviews, but the displays in the Opera House were quite impressive. Tons of old photos and renderings of Disneyland over its 70 years of operation, original furnishings from Walt's apartment over the Fire Station, and a great display featuring the history of Audio Animatronics featuring the original bird who ushered guests into the Enchanted Tiki Room (a replica, though). But what I really found interesting were the very early plans for the layout of the park, most of which have never been revealed to the public and have been in storage at the Disney Archives. I figured I'd share photos of these here, as I'm sure a few members would appreciate seeing them. They range from very early modest layouts to be originally built at the Burbank Studios, to plans that got larger, more ambitious, and became closer and closer to the final plan for Disneyland built in Anaheim, CA in 1955. To truly see all the details, (if your browser supports this) right click on each image and open in a new tab. Or download them and open in any photo editor. Then you can blow them up to full size. Enjoy
  17. Lovely update. I'd love to live in the residential area. Maybe a sweepstakes with the winner getting to stay overnight in that quaint little neighborhood. Something like Disney has done in the past, in the future. 🤔 (This park's future, our past. 😁)

Yes it was. Then JB pointed out how they looked like the plumbing was backed up so I had to find a (much harder) way to make them over again. Thanks JB. 😁 About 100. When I had about 8 decent candidates, we had a Scooter screen test and the above janitor got the job. (You see, it's not really Scooter, but just an actor who looks like him. 😉) ((And I don't even have to Photoshop his glasses like I do in Animal World! 🤗👍))

So who didn't see this coming? Hopefully Scooter can fix this. or not...

I'm using some of the billboards from the other versions. This will be very close to the PC1 version with more details and backstage stuff to make it more realistic. The biggest change from the PC1 version will be that Expo 3000 will closer resemble the model and RCT3 version, whereas the PC1 version strayed far from the original design, which majorly changed the layout and even added new rides. I'm sticking much closer to the original concept. Heck, maybe I'll even finish it this time.

Considering there are no rides yet, I think it's actually outrageous. But right on par with Mr. Wonder. (The standard Lightning Pass at Disneyland is around $32 btw. The Lightning Lane Premier is the one that's $300 to $400.) What's this all about?
  24. shyguy replied to shyguy's topic in Projects
There's a Like button, Love button, etc., but where's the Now I'm Nauseated button?? Scooter has fixed the plugged up sinks! Unfortunately, the marble countertops were destroyed and replaced by formica. But hey, not bad for a Scooter job. Wonder will probably want the rest of the marble torn out to match.

Mr. Perkins doesn't work here, which could be the reason for the plumbing problem. (The old geezer janitor character doesn't exist in Planet Coaster 2, thank goodness.)
