How do you post GIFs here?

For me, I used Eclipse Pyro's ambient laser pack all the time, and modified them depending of what I would like to see.

In total for my shows, I only work with 6 lasers - Electro Laser, Electro Laser Soft (Basically just a softer version without the sharp edges of my Electro Laser, you can sometimes see them coming out rotating from the top of the tower in The Call), Laser Disc (used to backlit sets), Main Laser (this is your typical cone of light, 4 beams thick width laser that I usually use on the foreground of sets), Flash Laser Outer (same as the main laser but only 3 beams and very bright very quick, used as a flash for beats, you can see these at 2:28 in The Call, the white ones), and Flash Laser Outer (same as the flash one but softer used to place ontop of the inner ones so you get a nice diadem effect of lasers). These are the only 6 effects I use and just change their colors, elevation, and rotation if needed throughout the show!

Also, care to share your laser stuff as well, Wolfie? Maybe I can cook something good with them.

After accidentally deleting a laser that I spent 30 minutes editing, I decided to snap this picture last night.

I never really bothered with lasers in any of my previous shows. In fact, of the 2 shows I ever completed and released, only one 1 of them even had lasers present. I didn't have the patience back then to learn the ins and outs of the ALE, and at a time when lasers were being reinvented and masterfully choreographed by the likes of Kikos and @Anon-P, I felt even less encouraged. But since these "Bite" shows are chances for me to relearn the MixMaster and game mechanics, I figured it was a great time to dive into the ALE and get more familiar.

From a show-building standpoint, doing a pass with lasers/lighting helps map out color palettes and other sequences that will help guide pyro choreo later on. Plus, from what I've noticed, lasers cause very little - if any - lag in game! So it's much easier to finish most of the laser work before starting firework placement, even if only to avoid lag from doing both at the same time.

Funny you did mention me tho

wonder what Kikos would say about this show!

If Kikos' stunning laser work and Vanderites' hyper-accurate beat syncing had a crazy lunatic lovechild, Mandala Re:Entry would be it. Except this show is so uniquely you!

I think Kikos would've be proud tbh

  4. Here's my current build:

    CPU: 9th gen Intel Core i5 9400F

    RAM: 32 GB DDR4

GPU: GALAX GeForce GTX 1070 8GB

    Storage: 1TB SSD (2 x 512GB) + 2TB HDD

Display: Armaggeddon Pixxel+ PRO PF 24HD SUPER x2

I've been doing little upgrades with this baby since I first built it back in late 2020

Really love the simplicity of the set here. I vaguely remember the original Mandala show from many moons ago - it was the first major advancement in laser choreo since Stardust if I recall correctly. I'm sure this will be another majestic extravaganza from you!

You might call me "Disciple of Kikos" now if you want to

You're insane for doing this show again 😄 There's such a non-stop energy with this show, can't wait to see it reimagined! Your lasers look spot on, reminds me of the old Kikos lasers. I've already seen some snippets you sent over so I'm super excited to see this!

Also, June 2023!? That's super quick, didn't know you were that close to finishing this!

I'll get a trailer out soon btw

Wilhelm showed me a way of recording RCT3 and it works for pyro shows. You can see an example of how it looks on The Call trailer.

Basically, he showed me how to use a cheat engine to slow the game down to .25% speed then in post-production you speed it back up 4x so the end result is 100% speed. I originally thought that wouldn't work since pyro and particles slow the game down but with the game running at .25%, it gives the game more time to process these particles so the result is lag free. I used the Nvidia screen recorder and since I have 4k screens, the result was a lag-free 4k video. Wilhelm said he'll make a tutorial in the future, it's revolutionary for recording pyro!

I already recorded my stuff but, I might look on it and also some ways to improve the quality on post-production

Are you using the recording feature that came with the game? Or are you using something else? I've been using Nvidia Shadow Play to record all my videos.

The one that came with the game, yes.

Man, I just got the hang of the shape, now all I need to do is to do more stuff to it like make its stars realistic and stuff.

That's already a good start, dude. Remember you can experiment with the amount of stars as well as the X rotation speed to make different combinations. You can even do halves and multi layered shells as well!

Wow, this looks great, Anon!  It’s broken down very well and feels super accessible.

Very good tutorial and very well written, the addition of the AFE basics is also a very nice touch. This will surely open a lot of people's doors into the AFE! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, both of you. I hope this will be beneficial for all those aspiring pyro designers out there!

  11. 7 hours ago, RobertaME said:

I've tried messing around with the AFE several times, but not knowing the vocabulary it uses made it next to impossible.

This is a HUGE boon to me! Thank you very much! Maybe now I can start making my own custom pyrotechnics instead of solely relying on the generosity of others sharing their work.

    :^)

Can't wait to see what stuff you've been cooking though, good luck!
