  1. I was able to get in one quick mention of ParkCrafters just before they closed the door, but had to leave off the '.com' so as to draw less attention.
  2. LOL! Yeah, one has to be a little careful when mentioning other websites for some reason now. Not all the mods there seem to be on the same page on that one. I do get my digs in about Atari from time to time, but that subject now might bring on a reaction. Certainly 'those who know...know'...
  3. LOL! THAT 'Skipper' was at least funny...the one at Atari less so... The Atari RCT Forums were noted for a certain degree of 'drama'...actually a GREAT deal of 'drama'. Other than meeting some friends there that remain friends until this day, the one good thing that came out of it...was Shyguy's World. The name I can't recall was "Something-Girl" maybe? Oh there was drama galore with those two back in those days...lol!
  4. The Skipper and her name I can't recall...
  5. One thing that bothered me on the first game was the lack of standardization through different themes. I recall there was a great thread over at the Frontier forums that showed exactly what was missing from different themes that appeared in other themes. That was something important for people (i.e. most of us...) who pick and choose scenery items from different theme sets when building structures, etc. But that thread was pretty much totally ignored by Frontier, even as they released DLC and updates. Unfortunately we see the exact same problem in PC2...missing basic pieces. One would assume that the staff designing what goes into each theme would have some sort of master checklist, which outlines all the basic pieces each and every theme set should have - one of the top of my head it the 4h rough brick end gable. They do have the 2h version, they have the 2h roof, they have the 4h roof, but the 4h end gable isn't there. Why? Either they have no master checklist to refer to, or they have different people doing different parts of that theme and there's a lack of communication between them. That's just sloppy quality control. Something I think is more evident in PC2 than the first one... Yeah, TPS was a disappointment. I think I finally got the t-shirt and poster from the Kickstarter a couple years after it was 'done'. Your World just didn't interest me. Metaparks looked promising, but so did several other that just didn't come to pass sadly...
  6. It may be difficult to translate your friends vision and turning it into a 'reality', but you certainly nail it for the rest of us...have they mentioned how close your vision comes to theirs?
  7. I was wondering the same thing. The attention to realism is just outstanding and he obviously is familiar with the real-life items these are based on.
  8. Yes, I'm of the same opinion. Someone over there made a comment about how game companies now are too often blaming a 'toxic community' for their problems, and as an excuse to limit communication. It's the old "Us vs them" mindset. One that reminds me so much of Atari, especially during the period of beta-testing RCT World, where at the end they simply had no desire what-so-ever to even hear any feedback, as they simply put - they knew better, and anyone who didn't agree was just an ungrateful whiner. I still recall how the head of Atari tried to pass the buck onto players rather than admitting it was their own decisions to blame. Never bought another thing from Atari (not that I'd actually have any reason to...) Yes, some people can be demanding. Some people do not understand why something can't be done. Some people have unrealistic expectations. But that's what the folks at game developers are paid to deal with, that's part of the territory. You take the slings and arrows along with the praise, and you deal with it. Make your customers feel like they are a part of the process...after all they ARE paying you for it. Acknowledge people's demands, explain why some things aren't possible, have a two-way conversation. Frontier used to be good at that.

I've pretty much given up using it because it tends to build up in the washers here (and being a tropical climate dryers are a rarity...), but I believe it depends on A: A massive combination of chemicals to create some sort of negative charge to deal with static cling...I think. But I'll stick with that one.
  10. That thought crossed my mind when I read your post about being censored over there...when did they change their rules? Several times I've mentioned other sites, both sgw and Parkcrafters without problem. I did mention 'other forums' in a post over there without stating the site name, that seemed to fly under the radar. I'm more surprised that when I compared what's happening with Frontier to what happened with Atari was allowed. I definitely agree 100% with everything you just said.
  11. I agree, night time can really shine in PC1. Especially for things like interiors where you can't really view them very well during the daylight hours because of the way glass works, but at night...
  12. Before we head on into the Fairgrounds, here's a mixed bag of some night-time screens shots of areas we've already seen during the day... Billy Bob and Officer Joe wait for the last train to roll in with any stragglers before the park closes... Meanwhile gift shops remain open to vacuum up any stray bills or coins in one's pocket on the way out...maybe a cold bottle of Coke as you walk back to the main gate? Baby Care Center is still available to change any soiled nappies before making your way to your car, bus or streetcar...fellow passengers will be most appreciative! Looks like the Vintage Shop closed...no late shoppers for secondhand pantaloons or mismatched china tea cups... Lily's Boutique has a sale on Princess ball gowns if you're interested...Disney Collection next door has Alice pinafores if that's more your 'cup of tea'... Or maybe a bound collection of Carl Bank's Uncle Scrooge comics at the Book Store? I actually have one...in Portuguese. He was very popular here in Brazil... Meanwhile over on residential street, you can hear parents tucking their young ones into bed..."Good night MaryEllen! Good night Jason! Good Night John Boy"...oops...wrong show... Look's like some turned in early...it IS after 9 o'clock in the evening! Lights are off in Doc Pritchards garage, so he must have parked the ol' Tin Lizzie for the night...but the porch lights are always on for late night emergencies... The Drug Store's closed for the day... While Matilda still has the doors open airing out the Photo Supply Store after her assistant Earl made the unfortunate decision to partake of All You Can Eat Burrito Night at the Taco joint just down the block...poor woman.
  13. I just find Discord terribly confusing. That's why I don't participate in the Discord we have for this site. Nothing against it or those who run it, it's just the nature of Discord itself and the way it's set up For many people who are used to it, it's just second nature. But I'm used to the structure of a forums, it's laid out in a less confusing way, one can much easier scroll through posts and find what they want. I also took a look at the PC Discord (I noticed a section for PC1 listed over on the left hand menu...). Someone had posted a screenshot of a realistic waterfall someone did and said it was from the Discord...do you think I could find it over there? I'll stick to here and any news Frontier bothers to share on Facebook or email.

While here 'lemons' are actually 'limes' as both lemons and limes share the same name - "Limão", the traditional yellow lemon is refereed to as a "Limão Siciliano". I think I recall that green limes sink while yellow lemons float because of different densities, but that it's not always true. But I'll still go with C: Lemon floats, lime sinks
  15. They announced that Frontier's Forums will be closing at the end of the month (six days from now...), and instead will rely on the community posting on Discord. For many this isn't much of a change because you use Discord regularly. For others, Discord is just something we just don't use, even if we have an account, myself included. I find the short notice a bit troubling, but honestly Frontier checked out community-wise ages ago...
  16. Thank citytrrader - I did the entrance but he build almost all of Kansas, I just slapped some signs around here and there...
  17. How cool! It's interesting to scroll down and see how the plans gradually grew more and more complex as ideas were added, some even more complex than what was actually build! I love maps anyways, but these are exceptional.
  18. Must be your monitor...🫣
  19. I think it was either a National Physicians Convention nearby, or The Little Sisters of Mercy were there collecting canned goods...I forget.
  20. Back to the show after that interruption... Heading back up Main Street towards the front entrance. we come across a side street next to City Hall - W. 1st Street. This marks the entrance to our residential street area. Here period homes show how families lived in each decade of the late 1800's to the early 1900's, complete with new inventions from those years... Think of it as a stationary Carousel of Progress...where YOU move and not the stage... E. 1st St becomes Elias Place at the corner... Right behind the City hall is a vacant lot that runs from E. 1st to E. 3rd Street...currently offered for sale... Some of the local kids have made use of the lot, scrounging up old lumber and odds and ends from construction sites...There's an air of excitement in town, as the poster show, the Mickey Mouse Circus is in town at the Storyville Fairgrounds! And here we find the local branch of the Mickey Mouse Club! Nxt door is their playhouse, where the neighborhood kids put on shows, just like the Mouseketeers would in a few years time on those new fangled tele-vision machines! For now they are more like an Andy Hardy movie... The clubhouse is based on real Disney Imagineer artwork shown below. Both structures I envisioned extending under the hill, hiding their bulk... At the other end of Elias Place on W. 4th Street, there's a service building with restrooms, first aid, etc. Next door there's a shop selling Mexican food (see? No bakery...), a Drug Store... And on the corner there's a Photo Supply Shop...need film for those Brownie cameras everyone's bringing this year! On the other side is a Penny Arcade...Uncle Walt feels no one should leave the park with any spare change in their pockets! Across the street is the beautiful City Park, where many a courting couple has found themselves sitting together on a bench at the scandalous hour of 8 o'clock in the evening, only to have Officer Paddy Wagen remind them to be on their way while h protects the young gal's virtue... Further into the park there's a playground for the wee ones and picnic tables (no doubt needed with all those bakery's...) But back across the street is our next destination...the Storyville Fairgrounds, currently hosting the traveling Mickey Mouse Circus! While we wait have yourself a chocolate eclair or stop by for a haircut...there's shop for either close by!
  21. Me too! Can't take credit though, the gate was a Workshop download that I just tweaked a little, but I love the detailing.

Never heard of that effect, but have known for a time that hot water freezes faster than cold, and that answer seems to fit... B: Freezes
  23. Glad you remembered because I completely forgot!
  24. Strange occurrences pop up from time to time on this park...things go missing! For instance some weeks ago when I opened the bench parts of the circus area we haven't seen yet were missing, the pieces were downloaded TMTK items that I still had in the game. I chalked it up as a mistake - perhaps they were grouped with something else that was removed. So I had to spend time adding them all back. A couple weeks later I noticed some pieces were missing from some structures downloaded from the Workshop. I check and they seemed to be TMTK items that this time were no longer showing up, so I re-downloaded them. Since I had already saved the bench that didn't cause them to re-appear. One structure I was able to clone the missing bits by downloading another copy of the structure, the other structure I could find in my items downloaded from the Workshop, so I had to create my own version of the missing part. Checked the bench, found nothing else missing. Then last week I discovered yet another structure missing some of it's parts. This time the TMTK pieces all seemed to still be downloaded, so I just removed the structure with the missing pieces, and replaced it with a fresh copy of the structure file...which had all it's parts! I have a lot of TMTK items downloaded, I haven't removed any in ages, so other than me perhaps deleting something that was grouped with the missing items (possible of course...), I not sure why things go missing from time to time. Anyone sticking needles in a voodoo doll representing me...lately anyways? LOL!
  25. Those sinks had a 'bidet' setting? Another Wanda idea no doubt... Wanda better not try using those air dryers at the moment or she'll be in for a big shock... Hope Scooter can hold his breath...
