  1. Frontier announced their first Hot Fix and also mentioned some things they are currently working on that will be included in future updates... https://www.planetcoaster.com/news/2024-11-07/hotfix-1
  2. Got the game on PC, and just opened it for a quick look around. Some people are reporting problems either getting into their Steam account, or downloading it, but it worked fine for me. I do like that the terrain button allowed you to shrink down to a smaller footprint, but it doesn't seem as large for the maximum size...I'll have to check PC1 to see what size it is. Some say the map is the same size as in PC1. However it does look smaller, so I''m not sure... Tried the pool tools...they will take some getting used to...as will the whole layout of controls. I definitely will be playing just in sandbox with most of the crap turned off myself. But they are there for those who wish to use them... Some people had commented on the heat map button always being visible at the top of the screen. Someone said that can be removed in the settings by deselecting "Show Onscreen Controls"...but was still there for me.
  3. Totally agree with you on the UI. Reading some of the comments elsewhere, I'm kind of struck that many people don't see this as a stand alone game, which it is, but rather as just sort of an update to PC1 with some new themes, rides and water park features. I'm guilty of that myself. It's certainly okay to compare the two, but perhaps we should compare PC2 at launch to PC1 at it's launch, setting aside the DLC's and special updates PC1 got later? Do I hope they'll add some of the features and content from PC1? Of course. But maybe we can expect it to be PC1+ from the start and instead see it as PC2...a new game. One that they'll add to, just as they added to PC1.
  4. Love Taboo Lagoon! Great job on forming the Polynesian-style roofs, and - again - wonderful screenshots.
  5. I wanna see more fluffy cows...let's ride it again!
  6. I really like what I see of the conservatory, and the false-fronts are looking great, nice variety!
  7. The Gnome/Nome King heard a nasty conspiracy theory that chicken eggs were deadly to Gnome/Nomes, so he banned them and the chickens they walked in with from his underground lair. No one has been able to convince him that it wasn't true, because he heard it on FAUX News... Oh, what a great idea you had with the names of the vendor booths! I wish I had thought of that! As always, thanks so much for your kind words!
  8. About time you drug your carcass over here JP!
  9. Thanks Wowman! They were kind of problematic...I used the lit billboards and the images were too bright and washed out, switched to the non-lit ones...too dark. Darkened the images, they still looked too bright on the lit billboards, over and over tried different things, finally got tired of tweaking them and left them as they are. Still kind of bright in my opinion, but better than they originally were by far!
  10. Was encouraging to see Frontier release a new FAQ where they say that many of the things people have raised concerns about or have requested may be coming. Good to hear the communication from them... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/planet-coaster-2-community-questions.629306/
  11. Thanks for the kind words...very much appreciated! So, despite our reservations, we'll travel past the gate and enter down into the realm of the Nome King... At the end of the passageway we turn a corner... It's the throne of the Nome King himself...surrounded by his riches... (In the books the name of the Nome King changed from Roquat the Red to Ruggedo - thus why the name on the signs is altered. Here we also see hte King refered to as 'the Gnome KIng'. Baum used the spelling "Nome" while authors Thompson and Neill who continued the OZ books after Baum spelled it as "Gnome". And now you know...) Here we also find fine vendors for Gruel... Mead and everyone's favorite - Grubs n' Stuff... But don't pig-out on those Grubs, because here's a ride that will bring them right back up again...Crusher. You can see more of the Nome King's Lair in the background. Step quietly and don't wake the dragon! Next up is Excavator... An underground coaster named "Quox - The Dragon"...always trying to make off with some of the Nome King's treasures... Next we'll enter the Crystal Cavern... More goodies to partake of! Fungus Funnels...Worm Stew...or Oldy Moldy Mole Pie...all washed down with Root Beer made from actual roots! Thankfully there's a restroom nearby... There's the tunnel for the Secret Route to the Emerald City (Shhhhh...). Dust from the Dusty Desert constantly blows in, keeping the housekeeping staff busy... At the center of the Crystal Cavern sits Forge... Just on the other side, past the giant grubs, is the path that leads to the exit from the Nome King's Lair...thankfully we survived...this time anyways. So we'll return to the crossroads of the Yellow Brick Road and next time explore Winkie Town...ruled over by the Wicked Witch of the West herself... Curses!!!
  12. VERY nice! Love the varied facades, they really work well. The bridge work and banks along the water are also really well done. Kudos!
  13. While I did pre-book PC2, and have been really looking forward to it, I am not among the 'fan-boi' crowd that just automatically cheer every screenshot or word about the new gane., I also do have some concerns based on what we've seen so far from videos and such, while I also see many things I like... No billboards? No additional music? No glass? Limited hours (parks close shortly after dark, which kinda defeats the purpose of lighting...), no humanoid animatronics? A hard limit on peeps? No snow (not even scenery pieces)? These are major concerns to me... Not all of these I suspect can be addressed with updates or in DLC later either. I was disappointed to see that most of the basic themes (Spooky, Western, Fairytale, etc.) were left out, even if some of the new themes do look really nice (Viking) or passable (Classical). I know they can add them later, but it crimps what we can do for the foreseeable future. I like that some themes have a large number of individual pieces - that's great! But disappointed that we lost hotels, restaurants, ATMs... And I don't believe we got the shops from PZ either? And what's with the totally empty interiors on some of the service buildings??? Love that there are brushes for foliage now! I do appreciate some of the new pieces for coasters, but disappointed those huge honking station platforms remain. I like most of the new flatrides, even if some flat ride footprints are still overly large. I DO like that they did away with the huge bollards at the entrance to ride queue's. I DON'T like that they felt the need to plaster the PC2 logo on even more things then they did in PC1, which was overkill in my opinion. I certainly haven't forgotten the name of the game I'm playing so don't need to be constantly reminded! I love the ability to attach items to coasters and rides. But I'm disappointed that it doesn't look like custom items will be allowed to do so, nor that TMTK is in their plans. While I'm not into waterparks that much, they do look okay, I can't comment on the complaints about lack of physics or whatever, but I really like the pools. I'm concerned when I see scenery items or rocks placed around those pools and peeps walk right through them. Reports are that barriers don't work to stop them either...and that's bad. The videos I've seen also seem to show that peeps collide and walk through each other far more than in PC1. Really puts a damper on realism... Pathing has undergone a HUGE improvement...BRAVO on that! I appreciate that a lot more pieces are recolorable. And it's wonderful to see narrower wall pieces! The ability to scale items is great, but tempered with the knowledge that not everything looks proper when scaled up or down from it's original size - especially wall pieces - because the textures also scale up or down and may nor match the rest of the building. I hope we can adjust the brightness of the game. Currently to my tastes it's almost washed out at times because it's overly bright. Again...realism. I don't like the clutter of the UI, and concerned at reports that it sometimes takes multiple clicks to get out of some tasks. While I only play on the PC, I appreciate the effort to include consoles, however I'll admit to feeling strongly that the game is seriously focused on consoles to the detriment of PC players... It's nice that they have strengthened park management with stuff like electrical stations, water purifying, etc.,...as long as those of us who don't care for those things can totally disable them. We'll see for our-selves when the game is released what's been fixed, and what's actually just a minor irritation...or is a major turn-off. Opinions may change when we can actually play it ourselves...and other irritants may crop up, as is normal. I'm just not 100% convinced that PC2 will cause me to suddenly forsake PC1....at least for a while until many improvements are made...
  14. Really nice work on the graphics for your presentation. And that first screenshot is just plain GORGEOUS! So is the last screen... Bravo! (And here in Brazil we have an "Eldorado Mall", so their spelling works! LOL!)
  15. Happy Halloween! And what would be more appropriate for such a macabre day than a stroll through The Haunted Forest ! For those with a low tolerance, there is also a short-cut that will take you directly to the Emerald City... You never know who might be spying on you as you walk along... The mists roll in and you can hear low growls and even a howl in the distance...at least I think it's in the distance...perhaps it's time to walk a little faster? There's yet another shortcut to the EC...how thoughtful of them to add signage directing us there! However, we'll bravely journey on down the Yellow Brick Road... The track for the Emerald Flyer monorail passes overhead... There's a fork in the road that leads to the Falls Overlook on the left...we certainly don't want to overlook that! The YBR will continue on to Winkie Town and The Nome King's Lair... Abandoned mines dot this area...but those who now live here know better than to try to enter the underground realms... Well, "Falls Overlook" turned out to be an appropriate name anyways... A creepy old house next to the falls... Just past that is the back escape (er...entrance...) from to the Nome King's Lair... I don't think we'll go further, while I can appreciate a nice backdoor entrance like anyone, I sometimes prefer the front door myself... So we'll backtrack to the Yellow Brick Road again...looks like a nice picnic area across the river... Restrooms and a landing for the water transport is just ahead... The landing is plain but certainly serves it purpose... A Fortune Teller's cottage tells us we're still in the domain of the Wicked Witch of the West... However let there be no doubt that THIS part of the Haunted Forest (or at least what's under it...) is the domain of the infamous Nome King (even if the Wicked Witch if the East's old billboard still advertises that this land is for sale...). Here's that picnic area we spotted earlier...just missing any picnic tables for some reason... A side path leads to Mombi's Potions... Even disposed witches who were former rulers of Oz need a side-gig to help cover expenses in their retirement! Figures there would be spooky mists if there's a witch around... And there's the old bat herself...ready and willing to sign autographs for a few Oz Green Pennies each in between cooking up batches of Frog Juice...yum! After a bucket of Cauldron Corn washed down with that Frog Juice, we're ready to explore the Nome King's Lair...we're at the main gate...dare we enter? Like the whims of certain other wanna-be rulers, the Nome King's statue out front is grossly exaggerated...he's actually only 4´2"...in heels... The Nome King is a huge fan of conspiracy theories...the latest one being that Chicken Eggs are deadly to Nomes...thus no hens allowed on the premises! Whimsies, Growlywogs and Phanfasm's may enter only through the back door, but only if they didn't pack an egg-salad sandwich in their lunchbox. Who doesn't love a good cliffhanger? Or loath a bad one? In either case, we'll leave you hanging while we head on in... Hope we'll see you inside...
  16. That nicely shows off just how intricate this track is! And I still love the redwoods...
  17. Always great to see old SGW members here!
  18. Thanks JB! I forgot to mention that the dungeon IS actually tunneled underneath the hill that the castle sits on, and there's another passageway that ramps up to the surface inside the castle. The screens don't show all the animations, bats flying and rats scrambling - there's even red blinking eyes behind the grate on the back wall using Fisherman's gif on a billboard. Peeps will enter the seating area as there is a hidden queue line that snakes through it to a Hoax ride hiding behind the stage... Next up we'll stroll through some more of the Haunted Forest on our way to visit The Nome King's Lair...an hidden city inside of a mountain with a number of attractions, and then explore Winkie Town - ruled by the Wicked Witch of the West herself...
  19. The idea for the Dungeon Divas show came from a sketch for a possible show called "The Dungeon of Forbidden Magic" at the Goddard version of The Wonderful World of Oz Park...my version is loosely based on it.
  20. Now we'll continue to explore the Dungeons, Catacombs...and Points West under the Wicked Witches Castle in the Haunted Forest... Down this gloomy passageway with the sound of dripping water and fluttering bat wings surrounds you... A bank of creaking elevators stands ready to convey the weak-willed to the surface, for beyond lies the Dungeon Divas Dungeon cells stand ready for trouble-makers and hooligans...just our sort of people! We've arrived at our destination...a meeting room for members of the Witches Coven and assorted aspiring witches from throughout the Land of Oz... Inspirational posters and advertisements line the walls... A lovely hostess awaits to show you to your seat... The off-tune musical extravaganza is about to begin! Oh, that cursed brat always manages to muddle up everything! Curses! There's even balcony seating for the large numbers of interested victims...er...visitors we attract! And the view from upstairs ain't bad at all! Why, you can even see the hourglass with the minutes Dorothy has to live trickling away! How fun! But our time...like Dorothy's...runs short, so we'll transport ourselves back the main gate of the Castle and continue on down the Yellow Brick Road...there's more yet to see in the Haunted Forest and it's environs...
  21. I started waaaaaaay back with RCT1 - before it's expansions even. Was a lurker in the community for a bit, but hung out at RCTStation, then RCTDepot, RCT2.com, then the Atari forums, shyguys and then here. Like a nasty case of some social disease I've been hard to get rid of... RCT 1&2 were special as you really had to use your imagination and creativity, but RCT3 for me took it up a notch, first with the 3D, and then later with the addition of custom scenery, which really allowed us to make what we had in our heads. I even held off a bit from moving on to Planet Coaster because RCT3 was such a fulfilling game. And while I did eventually move on to PC, RCT in it's different versions (just 1, 2 & 3 NEVER the train wreck that was World or the money grabs of the other rip-offs...), is still among my favorite games of all time. I'd also mention the importance of the communities supporting these games. There was some great interactions among people, some of whom remain personal friends even decades later. While ParkCrafters may not have as many people (because communities have evolved away from forums for the most part...), it's really nice that it strives to continue that same sense of shared community here.
  22. Nope, no overkill with the flowers, I think that turned out quite well! The transition between those areas works, especially with the multi-colored pennants that blend well with the multi-colored neon. "paseo en globo" is "Balloon ride" in Spanish I believe, "el globo" would be "The Balloon"...
  23. As do I (although I haven't played RCT3 for a couple years...). John was kind enough to take some CS I had made for the original Disney America project in RCT3 and turned it in to an actual ride, as well as animating other pieces for us. Have lost most contact with him as that was years ago, but followed his website while he went to college and have seen him pop up in videos for attractions at Merlin parks. A very nice and talented man, and like you I think it's wonderful to see someone from the glory days of the community go on and be successful in the real world of theme parks. There's several others who over the years have gone on to work for Disney Imagineering and other similar companies that I know of, so those who play these games and dream of someday working in the business should know that those dreams can sometimes come true...
  24. Many in the community from back in the RCT3 days (and many who still play RCT3...), will recognize the name ImagineerJohn - a designer who brought many new rides and CSO to the game for a number of years. His real name is John Burton, and he later went on to become the Senior Creative Lead of the Resort Theme Parks (RTP) division at Merlin Magic Making at Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park Resort, Gardaland, Heide Park, Chessington World of Adventures and Warwick Castle. Frontier just released a new video A Memorable Ride Event @ Thorpe Park where John is featured... https://youtu.be/inKN1wtiZZw?si=iOJaVtWi9bW0zeII
  25. Congratulations! It can often be a struggle to complete a large park, so I know how much work and effort went into finishing it!
