  1. This is your first Planet Coaster project??? Impressive start...
  2. Well, I didn't want anyone to look down and burst into tears thinking some social disease finally caught up with them... Obviously the Lion and Tiger were waiting for the Bear to try on a new sheer baby-doll nightie...always ready for a good laugh!
  3. LOL! Ah, thanks Wolfpaw! I can't take credit for many of the structures...they were Workshop finds in many instances that I recolored and tweaked. Some things - like the Grand Stairs - actually were copies of the bridges we crossed earlier getting to the Emerald City, I just took them apart and recombined them. Same with many of the other buildings...one was a 2 story building originally, I added another floor. Another I made wider by splitting it in half and adding to the middle. A lot of the details are TMTK items. I didn't make all of them (although there are 684 TMTK items I DID make for this project...). There's also several Emerald City buildings that were designed for another Wizard of Oz project by others...they were well made and sort of a tribute to their work...
  4. Yeah, it was a deliberate choice too. I really liked the extravagance in the "Oz, The Great and Powerful" film which mixed the classic Art Deco with Art Nouveau and Beaux Arts, so I decided to go along with that. The classic Art Deco skyscrapers are still there, but I didn't want to just reproduce the 1939 film's look. Also the Goddard Groups plans for a real park we in part based this project on also combined a bunch of different styles. I haven't seen it yet, but the new Wicked film seems to mix styles also with a good dose of steam punk too...
  5. We'll continue our tour... WARNING: it's a long one as there is lot's to see (and I have a ton of screenshots I have to get through before we're done..lucky you!). Please excuse some of the textures...I had them cranked up but this bench is large and very detailed, so the Frontier textures dropped off badly... As we enter the Emerald City, our first stop is to purchase a pair of green-tinted glasses, as per orders of the Great And Powerful Wizard Of Oz (who places a small surcharge on each purchase to assist poor widows and orphans in obtaining their own glasses....no...really!)... While you wait others in your party can visit the Emerald Comfort Station (remember...everything is GREEN here, so don't be shocked when you look down...), or help themselves to a refreshing bowl of Ozcream or a cup of Green Lemonade (said to be a favorite of the Great and Powerful Wizard himself!)... The famed Yellow Brick Road continues a short ways inside the City... Where is spirals to an end in front of the Wizards Palace. Here we find "An Audience With The Great And Powerful Wizard Of Oz, Ruler Of The Emerald City, Protector Of OZ"...the attraction name lasts longer than the actual show I'd guess... Across the street is the shop of the Green Thumb Florist. Be careful where your carriage parks here! Next door you'll find Sir Cinnamon Bunn, Esq. Bakery... Who knew one needed a law degree to bake something? And Yellow Brick Treasures & Fine Gifts... Also in this building is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Bank of OZ, Greenback's Currency Exchange, Allegro da Capo Music, Glad Rags Wizard Wear and Oznian Rings food shop... "The horse of a different color you've heard tell about!" Down this side street you can see the secondary gate leading to Munchkinland... On the left corner is the famed Emerald Grill...Princess Ozma herself ate there once...or maybe she ordered take-out... Back on the main street, on the left is Green Wishes apparel shop...up ahead on the right there's again the famous Emerald Grill restaurant... Just past on the left is The Royal Embassy of the Land of Ev To The Court Of The Wizard...say that fast three times in a row... The Royal Ambassador's coach awaits... Above the Emerald Grill is Bearly There Intimate Wear... And the Emerald City Rooftop Bar "We're not in Kansas anymore!"... Next door to the Emerald Grill is the Cinema Oznian ...this week a double feature - "The Wiz" and "Return to OZ"... Upstairs is an office for Munchkin Tours... Hank is ready to sell you a ticket... Next door is Emerald City Travel Agency, for all your travel around the Land of Oz... Next is Polychrome Art Works, for all your decorating needs... Emerald Theater...currently HM Wogglebug TE (Mr. Highly Magnified Woggle-Bug, Thoroughly Educated) is conducting a series of lectures on "The Fantasy World Outside Of OZ"...as if there was such a place...Ha! Dr. Herby and Emerald City Eyewear have offices here as well... Around the corner we find Oz Watch Repair, Munchkin Munchies, Johnny Dooit Repair Shop, a Pet Store, Lemon Drops, Magic Potions Shoppe and an outlet for Ugu's Shoes... Across the street is the Grand Staircase to upper levels of the City... Back across the road we find Emerald Gardens where there are Meet & Greet areas...today one can meet Glinda or the Wizard... FINALLY - something to do besides shopping or eating! Here we have The Wonderful Wheel of OZ (the Emerald City's Finest Views!) and The Emerald Flyer... We'll end today's tour with a big piece of Green Apple Pie at the Oznian Cafe... Next up - The Scallawagons and more of the City...
  6. Congrats on finishing the park! It's always a good feeling when one can decide "yep...this one is done!" So great job! You did nice work on the lighting, the night-time screenshots really show it off to good effect. Lot's of nice detailing. That last screens shows just how much you managed to get in there - impressive and done really well.
  7. Yes, a workshop find. It's gorgeous and I used it not only here but also inside the city as well. I took sections and moved them around but the overall look stuck with that rich art-deco look that I really loved.
  8. WHOA! LOVE IT! Great job (and great screens...). That Voodoo show buildings is fantastic!
  9. I'll mention that many of the structures in the Emerald City are from the Workshop. Some created for other wonderful parks themed to Oz, other I just recolored (a task and a half when everything is supposed to be green...), others I 'kitbashed' in whole or part to use to create something that worked better for us. But a sincere THANK YOU to all those who shared their work in the Workshop, you made building the Emerald City so much better (and easier!).
  10. Yes...we're back! (No groaning...) Technically the next bench if we follow the route Dorothy took to see the Wizard, the Yellow Brick Country where she meets up with the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion would be next, Followed by a visit to the Northern Kingdom where Glinda the Good Witch resides. But since the Northern Kingdom isn't finished yet, and the Yellow Brick Country is done but the screenshots aren't done, we're going to skip right to the Emerald City itself...as it's finished. So just pretend a twister has us all discombobulated and out of order...my natural state by the way... We'll start off where the Yellow Brick Road passes by the Haunted Forest...don't worry - no Flying Monkeys have been spotted recently... The Main entrance to the Haunted Forest is to the right, we're looking back towards Munchkinland in the distance and Kansas beyond that... One of the docks for the boats ride Munchkin Tours - "Little Sights For Little People" is on the left. It circles the Emerald City and passes by Munchkinland, Yellow Brick Country, Northern Kingdom and Winkie Town... Lovely park lands surround us... The Yellow Brick Road curves past a secondary entrance to the Haunted Forest...the monorail stop is just down the path to the right... We come to a fork in the road...the right branch is the back path to Munchkinland, while the left path leads over the grand bridges leading to the Emerald City itself... We catch a glimpse of the Emerald City itself! In the parkland on the left there's a Swan Ride dedicaated to Queen Coo-ee-oh, who was the queen of the Skeezers when they fought their conflict with the Flatheads. She was a "Krumbic Witch" (which is seven times worse than an ordinary witch) and a capricious tyrant. She was later changed into a diamond-studded swan and allowed to swim away... More pavilions and monuments...in the distance the towers of the Castle of the Wicked Witch of the West rise into view... We're almost there! One more bridge and then the Grand Gate to the Emerald City itself! Oh Look! Dorothy and her friends are attempting to enter the Emerald City ...I hope they remembered to knock since that bell ain't workin'! Green Whiskers is on guard duty... Hmmm, I don't know if our chances of seeing the Wizard are good today...maybe tomorrow? Well, we'll see what happens then... As Citytrader always mumbles..."more to come!"
  11. Thank you! They are really nice and lend a nice exotic air.
  12. Those wooden planter 'cups' in the last screenshot are so cool! Did you make those or are they a Workshop item? They look great planted! Great start for the transportation hub...I really like how you laid out both the boat and train stations across from each other...
  13. (Missing the 't' in 'strollers'...😜) Yes, it's so nice to have better fonts to use for signs...much more versatile!
  14. At first glance my eyes picked out that most of the palm trees in the first couple of screens were all about the same height and I wondered if a few shouldn't be scaled differently to add a little variety...but then it dawned on me that I had seem fields of palms that were exactly like that - most all of them the same size. Here outside of São Paulo we have large plots of land where they grow bananas and palms for palm hearts, there's lot's of road-side vendors selling whole bunches of bananas and canned palm hearts, and the trees are all pretty much exactly the same height, which your eye notices. So those first couple screens actually look very authentic! The rest of your foliage is very lush and natural too. Love the screenshot, those are just gorgeous shots. You're making great progress so far!
  15. There have been several hacks discovered that can make Planet Coaster 2 more versatile. Ramm posted a tutorial on how to make regular paths as narrow as 2 meters wide: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/tutorial-making-smaller-paths-2m-instead-of-4m.630147/#post-10482558 Ramm posted a tutorial to enable edge scrolling: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/tutorial-enable-edge-scrolling.629474/ (NOTE: Frontier says they will address the edge scrolling issue in the December update...)
  16. I love the steps down to the water level!
  17. A large update is coming in December for Planet Coaster 2! I'm happy to see some scheduled fixes to some of the bugs, problems and missing content https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/planet-coaster-2-free-update-1-coming-december.629979/
  18. Even better at night! Great job on the lighting!
  19. The night-time screens are gorgeous!
  20. Great start! I really like your names...very inventive!
  21. As promised (or threatened...), next we'll visit Winkie Town...home of (surprise!) the Winkie's! The Wicked Witch of the West has long ruled over the poor souls in the Land of Winkies. All Winkie males between the ages of 18 and 48 are required to serve in the Winkie Guards at the WWW's Castle. Why only until aged 48? Because most don't make it to 47... The WWW's sister, the late Wicked Witch of the East, handled real estate duties all along the Yellow Brick Road, including in Winkie Town (all for a 'small' closing fee forwarded on to her sister...). Despite it's ties to the Wicked Witch, Winkie Town has managed to preserve it's somewhat wacky flavor... One exception of course is the Wicked Witch of the West Benevolent Society...unfortunately the Wicked Witch is all out of benevolence... "All Hail The Wicked Witch!" "Which ol' Witch? The Wicked Witch!" They like to pretend Winkie's have a choice in joining the Guards... The Mayor's Office. He...or she...runs Winkie Town in the Wicked Witches absence...unless they displease her. Which is a rather painful thing to do... They had 35 different Mayors last year alone. An abode for sale through the WWE Real Estate Company...I believe a former mayor lived here until recently...in fact it comes with all his belongings still in place... The Winkie Choir meets here..."Oh-ee-yah, eow-ah!" Practice makes perfect you know! Ugu's Shoes for all your footwear needs... You'll need need to trim any toenails with those shoes! Some scenic photos of the burg... The Old Mill... The waterfront... Over the bridge the Yellow Brick Road continues on... As we leave Winkie Town behind... An overview of Winkie Town...the Wicked Witch's Vacation Castle is on the right, the mountain under which is the Nome King's Lair is in the background... Little wider view...the towers of the WWW's Castle loom on the left...The dock for the boat ride is at center... And finally an overview of this section of the park... Marvel's World in Kansas at far upper left, Munchkinland at lower left, Haunted Forest with the Wicked Witches Castle at center, Nome King's Lair at upper right under the show building, and Winkie Town below that on the right... Where do we go next following the Yellow Brick Road? Will it be Yellow Brick Country - Home of the Cowardly Lion, Tin Woodsman or the Scarecrow? Ir perhaps the Northern Kingdom - home of not only Glinda, Good Witch of the North, but also that Jolly Old Elf himself (not likely as we haven't finished that bench yet...), or perhaps we'll journey to the Emerald City itself to see the Wizard? Are you green-tinted glasses ready? When we figure it out ourselves we'll let you know!
  22. Ohhh! Love the colorful buildings! Nice detailing and it has a real 'fiesta' feeling. The peekaboo in the tunnel is a nice touch too!
  23. Yeah, I'm setting it aside for a bit and will just stick with PC1 for now. Lot's of potential...lot's of problems right now. And the problems infringe on the things that are good. Like JP I struggle with paths and pools, they are a bit wonky and fussy, so my patience level is limited, and then I see crap like the over abundance of PC2 logos on things like queue paths...seriously, I know what game I'm playing Frontier! The water textures on some of the water rides is horrible...worse that RCT3 and certainly worse than PC1 that had far better textures on many things. I didn't pay for a console game, I paid for a PC game. The update today was good, but there's a lot more to be tweaked yet in my opinion. I'll wait until more things are addressed...
