January 20Jan 20 I believe the answer is "no". Pretty sure that the items' icons will still appear in the game, and when you mouse-over the icons of the removed items, the game will freeze or collapse. It'd be easy to test it out though. Just remove one item from a pack/set, but keep it safe somewhere else on your computer. Load the game and see what happens. If it doesn't work, just put the item back into the pack. There's also a chance the game won't even load all the way if it encounters a missing item.
January 21Jan 21 Author I've already tried this, and the game does indeed freeze. I thought we could have done something about one of the .ovl files at the root of the pack.
