I'm not sure I could handle that hike. I did one at Zion that had a sheer drop along the edge of the trail and I got panicky and had to turn back. 😧 Yes, I'm a wuss.
  3. This looks like the kind of post I would typically make... 😋

Mr. Wonder has begun posting on Tooter. Here's the latest...

This is a pretty epic looking ride!
  7. But I'm building it in Planet Coaster 2! You could build it if you like, but be prepared for a massive lawsuit from Mr. Wonder. 😖

An interesting article in the San Diego newspaper... Here are larger images of the overviews from Mr. Wonder's blog. The original resort plans The new updated plans.

I've heard it from Mr. Wonder that since she was released from rehab, she has vowed to only drink one bottle of wine per hour. Although, he didn't mention how she's limiting her intake of beer, vodka, rum, brandy, cocktails, etc.

I visited Brookfield Zoo when I was something like 6 years old. The only thing I remember is riding on the train during pouring rain. Great job on this.
  12. Wow, that CS turned out great! I look forward to seeing this progress, as I'm unfamiliar with Eiltch Gardens. Is this going to be a close reproduction, or something just based on the park.
  13. Very impressive so far. One thing that I appreciated is the size of the guest services. Most people who put this facility in their parks, usually plop down one or two service windows in a tiny little building, and call it a day. In my latest visits to theme parks, I've made it a point to take note of what these, and other similar services, look like. And guest services is usually quite extensive, featuring many service windows, and even queues for the guests. (Like you've done.) Knott's sometimes has a huge line out the door, a block long. And Legoland had no less than 12 service windows. So kudos to you for your attention to detail. (Yes, I'm quite a theme park nerd, to focus on your guest services. The coaster and other stuff looks good, too. 😋)

Work progresses rapidly at Lafitte's Castle. The first floor is nearly complete, with the addition of 7 deluxe guests rooms. An old photo of what the old interior looked like. The floors needed to be carpeted to help soundproof the corridors for the sake of the guests staying there. This led to the decision to modernize the look of the interior of the castle, at least where the guest rooms are located. There are 3 rooms in the east wing of the castle and 4 in the west wing. Each contains a utility room featuring vending machines, ice machine, and washer and dryer. The master bedroom contains two queen size beds. The kid's room contains two single beds. The spacious living area features a sofa and small dinette. The bathroom.

Wow. This brings back memories of my trip, many years ago. I did Zion, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and Sonoma. One of my very best vacations.

Work has begun on the next big theme park in the World's of Wonder Resort. Mr. Wonder is being very secretive about just what this park will have to offer. But he promises that it will rival, if not surpass, the epic scope pf Wonder World. Construction has just begun, so there is very little to show right now. The most interesting (distressing) thing to report is that he has hired his nephew, Scooter, as head grounds keeper. We all remember what happened to Water World when Scooter was left in charge. Or maybe we don't, but moving on... Scooter looks happy to be working again in a Wonder park. I'm not, though... Even more distressing is that Wanda, Mr. Wonder's sister, has also been hired to work at the park as head keeper. Here she is preparing food for the new flamingos that have just arrived. Wanda and son, Scooter, standing together on the new park grounds. The park is just a blank canvas now, with some initial rock work and water features slowly taking shape. This will be the future home of the Greater Flamingo. Right now, it's not much more than a mud pool. A waterfall is being tested amongst some very unfinished rock work. Rumor has it that there will be a system of underground caves beneath the rocks. What it will house is something we can only speculate for now.

Beautiful photos. I love the composition of the last one. And those city scapes are spectacular.

Yes, as time marches on, all the years seem to blur together. I can't believe I started this project roughly 9 years ago! 😬
  19. Such a great update. I love the night shots. You really capture the Disney spirit with all the twinkle lights.

It's not gonna be cheap, that's for sure. Actually, this was originally built in Planet Coaster and is being refurbished in...Planet Coaster. 😉

Work continues on Lafitte Landing, focusing now on Lafitte Castle. So maybe the Veranda House rooms aren't exciting enough for you. Maybe you'd rather stay in one of the deluxe castle rooms inside Lafitte Castle itself. Almost all of the original Lafitte Castle interiors have been gutted. Being the very first Planet Coaster project I worked on, and the fact that the game was still in early access, making interiors was insanely difficult using the path system which didn't have the ability to use grids and make plazas. The interior became a maze of hallways and staircases to reach the upper floors, leaving very little room for anything else. The only thing I kept was the lobby, which came out halfway decent. Here is an old photo of the original lobby the way it looked years ago. New furniture, stone floors, and more rustic looking wood wall textures have been added. The reception desk hasn't changed much except for some enhanced lighting. More changes and additions to the lobby are underway, as well as installing 14 deluxe rooms to the castle. The building was never really designed to be a realistic hotel, so the layout is still very odd. But who says all hotels have to fit the norm. Lot's more work to do...
