It's a matter of priorities. In my use case, reliability and up-time are more critical since everyone in my family depends on the file server being up for shared access and at night during family time we all depend on it to watch our shows and movies. That it can also run RCT3 and KSP with tons of mods is nice, but running the latest games at 120 fps isn't our use case. Also, you can't get 16 tb SSDs for massive video data storage of our library of 1,300 movies and over 10,000 TV show episodes that we ripped from our DVD/BRs... SSD that big just aren't practical and their reliability is too low for our use case. Your use case may be different so you have different priorities... and that's okay too!
I get it, I mostly play games and stuff so, my current build is perfect for those. I might upgrade some stuff in the future tho. Maybe bigger storage first, then a better GPU. then there's the rest.

It's why I dislike liquid-cooled thermal solutions... too many single points of failure. Lines clogged or pinched? Dead CPU. Pump dies? Dead CPU. Fans die or are jammed? Dead CPU. Line leak? Dead CPU... and likely dead everything else.
You're talking about custom loop still, not the AIO ones.

(There's been a lot of stuff out there lately that AIO really isn't that great as it was made out to be.) That's why I ended up with the Noctua tower/fan on top. Based on what I'm seeing in Afterburner, it's spot on and I see good temps with performance.
My CPU peaked at like 50 degrees Celcius with an AIO tho

You should invest in an AIO water cooling, even though you have a 9th gen i7

I used to have a SSD boot drive, but I suffered too many drive failures with SSDs and the data loss recovery was a PITA, so I went with something that has a better MTBF for a marginal speed loss.
I have an SSD boot drive and still going strong in the past few years so, it might be your SSD that was problematic

This is what years worth of experience seeing concert/stage lights looks like (though I didn't got to any concerts in person yet)

I can't say I'm a fan of liquid cooled CPUs. It's Single Point Of Failure of the worst kind; if something goes wrong with any part of the cooling system, (clogged/pinched lines, pump failure, coolant leak, etc.) you'll fry one of the most expensive parts faster than you could shut it down and effectively kill the entire system.
I think you were talking about a custom liquid cooled rig. I do also use an AIO cooler as well

Took almost a month working on this but, I actually satisfied with the result despite some hiccups during post-production.
IDK how long until I came up with another banger but, enjoy!

It took a while, but I finally sat down and watched the show. It was VERY beautiful. I had little to no idea what the story was but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. I feel like if I understood the language, it would have been clearer. I really liked what you did with the fountains. You really made them feel alive. The overall show felt a little repetitive at times with the firework design but there is also only so many ways you can shoot off pyrotechnics in 12 minutes, haha. The colors really matched the mood and feel of the music and I can see you paid a lot of attention to the entire effect from launch to ending smoke. It was fun seeing you play with the middle piece but it felt a bit flat at times, like a chorus line. I would say try bringing some of your ground effects forward sometimes to really give a sense of depth to the set. From your screenshots, I know it had depth, it just didn't come across in the show. In the end, these are all nitpicks in a very solid show. I really enjoyed watching and I can't wait to see what your next project turns into!
Hey, sorry for the super late response, but I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

This show is beautiful! I think this is a showcase in itself, whether it be pyro, lighting, or fountains is completely up to you. Looking at the remarks made by @wolfpaw I can see what he is saying about language barriers and how the posts leading up to the show almost presented "chapters." The visuals were great and I think the set could be reused for a natural show. The front pieces definitely make me think of flowers which could lead to many storylines. This show is definitely visually appealing and showing it off is the right thing to do! Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it at the fullest! Also, I can't wait to see what are you cooking soon... 👀

I never realized how similar our "origin" stories were @Bookworm91! I too saw IllumiNations in person and was immediately hooked, amazing what a simple firework show can do. It still is to this day my favorite firework show ever created, it's just so good. I too saw RCT3 Gold but in a Gamestop and got it and played it on my family computer (I was like... very very young, haha) for only like an hour a day - that was all I was allowed to be on the computer back then. After a few years of not playing RCT3 because I lost the game, I re-bought it through Amazon when I was a freshman in high school and discovered vPyro. Just like bookworm, my first show had to be IllumiNations as it is the one that started it all for me. This was my first show created (granted I definitely had help through vPyro at the time so I already had access to effects and didn't use the vanilla ones)
That is the super short condensed story without going into much detail, just thought I'd share since I found it funny how similar it is to bookworm's! 😅
If I'm not wrong, you tried to remake it at some point, right?

I also LOVED how you recorded in 60fps, that's something I need to get caught up on! Also, what kind of computer did you make this on? Because your video seems clear, not pixelated. I was impressed by that, considering how a massive set can diminish rendering quality.
My setup's ran on a 1070 which was considered the best during its glory days, but it's kinda old compared to today's gaming PCs. Also, there's a 'secret' tech on how you can render on 60fps btw

With each update on the show, you've provided quotes which I would assume are bits and pieces of a larger story that will be fully revealed and concluded in the final show.
What if I told you these quotes are actually the translated bits of the lyrics?

I spent more than 8 hours per day working on the choreo, no wonder I got it done in less than a month
7 hours ago, wolfpaw said:By far my favorite of all the elements was your water - I thought the fountains were used pretty excellently and the colors and movement of all your fountains was spot on and worked well with your music choice. I would have personally made this show a full-on fountain show with hints of pyro and lighting used to support the fountains. The fountain flowers you had in the center were also gorgeous, maybe you should try making a fountain-only show next!
I should've quoted MGL as well on the credits, he's inspired me on the fountain part here

Luminous: The Symphony of Us Debuts at Epcot
in Real Parks Discussions
I have mixed reaction for Luminous honestly. While the show itself is a fresh addition, but I think I'm gonna miss Harmonious and the taco barges tbh
