Moving on from the Flying Gump, we come across Billina's lunchpail tree. Need a good hearty lunch before you continue your journey? Don't try this ride! Guaranteed stomach churner! Billina the chicken got whisked away to OZ on Dorothy's second trip. She greets you from the top of the sign. The lunchpail tree grows an entire picnic lunch inside a bucket. These looks ripe! Remind me again why I wanted to ride this thing?!?!

Yes, they had a merchandising deal with DC comics. They used Superman, Batman, and others in a lot of their advertising. They also "pushed" less than profitable rides by giving out free ride coupons to increase the numbers. They also had a deal with Harvey comic books, which leads us to one of the most popular rides at Palisades; The old Tunnel of Love was converted into a not so scary Casper's Ghostland. Casper's pal Wendy also had an old Crazy Daisy ride themed to Casper's friend Wendy, the good witch. Haven't found any decent pictures of the ride, so I made due! The Batman Slide was another crowd favorite! More to come!

Thanks guys! I did try to emulate the original Goddard plans as closely as practical. I believe this land was solidly aimed at teens and thrill seekers. Lots of thrill rides. Anyway; Moving on, we come upon the lands first coaster; The Gump is a trophy moose head (known in OZ as a Gump), a sofa, some palm fronds, a broom, and rope that Dorothy, Jack and Tik Tok made and brought to life with the Powder of Life. Join the Gump as he tests his wings and flys around the mountains of OZ! There is a small shop as you exit the ride;

A half mile south of the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee New Jersey was the famous Palisades Amusement Park. It began in the 1910s as a small picnic grove and grew and grew until the 1960s when it was at it's height. It had a heated salt water swimming pool, with the water pumped up the Palisades cliffs from the brackish water of the Hudson River. It was home to a few iconic coasters including the Cyclone and the Lake Placid Bobs. Some of the performers that performed on the free stage were Fabian, Chubby Checker, The Supremes, The Chiffons, Leslie Gore, The Jackson Five, Tony Bennett, Vic Damone, The Four Seasons, Bill Haley & The Comets, Bobby Rydell, Dion, Jackie Wilson, and Neil Sedaka. Admission was ten cents, but the owner of the park made sure there were a few holes in the perimeter fence and directed security to not hassle any kids "sneaking in". His philosophy was that they would spend money anyway. The park was also famous for it's vinegar fries. Trust me, sounds gross, but OMG, they were the best! Anyone who grew up in the tri-state area knew the park and the jingle. The park even had a top forty hit in the 1950s called "Palisades Park" written by Chuck Barris, who went on to fame in the Gong Show. I have been working on a homage to Palisades off and on for years. Whenever I got stuck in either Disney's America or OZ, I would dust off this park and give it a go. Still not completed, but about 90%! I recreated the park as I remember it from the 1960s, very kitschy and retro looking. I'll let the pictures do the talking. More soon!

As we head further into YBR Country, we pass a small Hopper ride; Is that who I think it is? Why, it's the cottage of the Tin Man! Good thing he has his oil can nearby, it looks like it might rain; Somebody is keeping an eye on us;

Real life and all that... Anyway, leaving Tik-Tok banned and behind us, we come upon the iconic corn field and it's lonely resident... Perhaps he can help us on our journey, if he only had a brain! He can't even seem to scare away the crows. Moving on, we come upon a quaint little pumpkin patch, with some mighty big pumpkins! Looks like another ride; Gee, Jack Pumpkinhead sure is a nice fellow! Let's go for a spin! Directly across the YBR sits the Pond of Truth. One sip and you can never tell a lie!

I think we have a trifecta. It was indeed Diner's Club. Taught this in my US History II class!

Sounds like the same issue we had in PC1. The guests view transport as a ride, not a conveyance to take them where they want to go. Do the guests make round trips, or get off where you want them to? Wagi and I ran into that all the time with Disney's America. Sometimes, they just would not go to some areas unless they could walk. Let us know how that issue works out. Maybe the addition of scenery or other attractions will help.

Maps are available, or you can scan the QR code to download one to your phone; The Lucious Lilypads are right around the corner; Looks like fun! Next door to the Lilypads is Tik Tok's Clockworks. Let's take a spin; A small snack stand finishes out this area;

There is a second entrance to YBR country as you'll see soon. We appear to have entered a kind of weird looking college campus; Hey look at that! I was right! Professor H.M. Wobblebug, T.E. is a Highly Magnified & Thoroughly Educated Wobblebug, who runs this center for higher learning. A nice cozy diner sits on campus; The yellow brick road starts here as well. I wonder where it ends? What is a hippodrome, anyway? Photo op: See you soon!

So I guess it's my turn to pick up the pieces (more likely crumbs) left by Wagi. Picture in your mind being all the back in the Kansas section of town. Heading down one of the side streets, you come to an interesting looking structure; Why, Miss Gulch even owns the library! It's not a particularly inviting place to go to, but we'll take a chance; Wonder what it looks like inside? Pretty much like a library, I guess. Kind of weird, this one little bookcase off by itself; What the heck? This is definitely one weird library... I wonder what's up ahead? Very strange place we've found ourselves in...

C definitely. It's about half that, around 6 million.

In PC1, you could pick small or large icons in the various menus. Am I missing something, or are they one size only? On my PC, they are so small these old eyes can hardly even see them! 😀 "Damn your eyes!" "Too late!"

As Wagi mentioned, most of this stuff is OZ specific, but I could easily see it in other fantasy parks, and certainly there are tons of generic signs and window inserts. He has really worked his bottom off on all this CS, and it makes the park so much the better! Thank you Wagi! 🤩

Thank you all for all the nice comments! Believe it or not, we have both been working very hard to get this done, especially since PC2 has been announced. I've been off work for a couple weeks, and Wagi has woken from hibernation. Sometimes it's a little hard to tell when he's sleeping or not! 🤣 We should have some major updates posted within the next week or so! In the meantime, here's a shot of the Lollipop Guild ride at night. I am very pleased with how the lighting turned out on this ride. You can see the OZ monorail whizzing by in the distance.
